Hi,
I was born in Amsterdam, 1959 and graduated MA (Education, with honours) 1982 in New Zealand, where I lived for 22 years. I've studied for Phd, but did not finish it. My main paid jobs have included university tutor/teacher, library education officer, research statistician, academic translator/editor and documentalist/archivist. I presently live and work in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
I think more egalitarian societies are better for human life. My intellectual interest is typically in social sciences & humanities, and my hobbies are mainly reading and writing.
On a suggestion by Prof. Jim Devine of Loyola Marymount University, I have contributed or worked on a range of wiki articles in the area of Marxian thought, sociology, economics, social accounting, econometrics, history, and philosophy. I continued to work on the articles more from time to time; some of them do get a lot of hits.
I have written or contributed mainly to the list of articles below (some have changed; I have marked the 49 or so which I originated - if I remember correctly - with an asterisk *).
I did not always sign in when editing, so some of the edits carry only an (old or new) IP address. Some of the IP addresses were:
- 212.64.48.162
- 212.182.183.8
- 82.136.223.40
- 82.169.203.147
- 82.170.245.157
- 82.169.203.180
- 85.144.162.215
I've made some very small corrections to various other wiki articles but I don't need to mention those specifically. I intended to footnote many articles correctly when I would have more time. A lot of them are based on research I did in the 1980s. I left my books and archives in New Zealand, where I also frequently consulted libraries. Since specialist English literature is sometimes not easily available to me where I live now, it could take a while to get all the references.
