I'm a software engineer living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada working on the Linux kernel at a networking company. My PhD is in applied mathematics from Simon Fraser University. I studied how different types of Rossby wave propagate in the tropics and midlatitudes. During my MSc at University of British Columbia, I studied surface morphology and nonlinear dynamics, particularly the suncups that form on the surface of melting snow. I run Debian as my primary operating system, and try to use free software wherever possible. I'm a contributor to the mpv media player through my GitHub account. I'd say I'm mostly a casual editor, just adding / fixing things as I run into them in my frequent journeys through Wikipedia.
