[edit] A little bit about Lucky Mitch
I currently live in unincorporated Longwood, Florida in the Orlando area though I am actually a native Georgian. I played football and lacrosse in high school, so I am really quite interested in the two sports (especially football). I am 19 and am attending Auburn University where I am majoring in Political Science. I have been an Auburn fan my whole life. Much of my family all went to Auburn University so I am a HUGE fan of the University (especially the football team the Auburn Tigers).
You'll find that I'm quite interested in politics and that it is rare for me to edit anything on Wikipedia that isn't political. Because of politcs' very controversial nature, you'll also find that I will occasionally get into issue-related conflicts with other users. However, I always try to remain humble, keep an open mind, and assume good faith. Of course I am only human and certainly have the ability to stray from these principles as you may well find out yourself.
[edit] Politics
Overall I am a centrist, fiscally conservative-deficit hawk that is progressive/liberal on most social issues and an economic moderate (believer in a Third Way economy). I really dislike partisan politics, however I must admit that unfortunately I am a registered Republican even though I consider myself an Independent.
Though I am technically a Republican, I have been reluctant to affiliate myself with the party ever since it evolved into a party of fiscally irresponsible, close-minded, ignorant, intolerant, bible-thumping, Christian Right imbeciles. I believe in the more scientific/logical/realistic answer to "how it all began" rather than choosing to believe in old, baseless, unreliable, and unscientific myths and fairy tales that are only around today because of blind faith, close-mindedness, and mass brainwashing. I also believe that as long as someone is not causing harm to another, that people should tolerate different lifestyles.
However, I also believe strongly in personal/fiscal responsibility. I believe that the private sector is more efficient than the public one, that the government should play a fairly small role in the economy, and maintain low spending and taxation levels to promote more independence and economic growth. Though I consider myself a fiscal conservative, I am not a supply-sider. While I believe that tax-cuts are good for causing economic growth, I do not believe they are the best way to gain revenue. I believe that there are such things as irresponsible tax-cuts especially when they are enacted when the country is trying to reduce the deficit/gain revenue and when they are given to the wealthiest 1% of taxpayers. I am willing to accept tax increases primarily on the top tax bracket in addition to cutting spending for the purpose of reducing the deficit, paying off national debt, and balancing the budget. I strongly support the Concord Coalition, am in favor of the PAYGO system and prefer Clintonomics over Reaganomics.
