[edit] Big Statement - Anti-SOPA

thumbs

I am watching with unbelieving eyes what's happening on the informational flow. This act is interfering with my Wikipedia stance over the 8 years I have been working here. I am a Librarian by profession and will and I am utterly grateful about what I have given to society. I am writer and musician and I am trying to be inspiration to society and my friends. I can't believe it since whole companies are using .torrent protocol to exchange ideas and updates. Mind you one of the most played free MMORPGs Allods Online is giving up the updates through torrent protocol to its players/clients. And mind you once more I think in all sorts of knowledge-transfer it is used in governmental, company and all sorts of other fields. Everywhere it is torrent protocol. So, I don't know how these people think it's going to happen. I am just honest man of arts and want to perform in this way for a long long time. They can't just stop the informational flow of this planet, just like that, deny everybody's newspaper in Wikipedia and adversity over the field. We fight for our right to edit Wikipedia and just thinking about it when I see entire student workpapers and all sort of disertations and seminars are held base on knowledge on Wikipedia. All of the field on all of the field. It is hard to imagine a world without free knowledge. We are gaining up as people and gaining out to provide the people with free knowledge on any possible language on the field. I really hope for the best. This just can't happen. As a Librarian I firmly believe that this is going to cut the whole informational flow of the society. If this succeeds it will cut 2/3rds of society to free knowledge. It will get us off any possible connectivity in space and gallactic and deep humanistic knowledge in ourselves. I am against this smear campaign against free knowledge and free will. I sign my name as Чавдар Ликов (Chavdar Likov).

Chavdar Likov.jpg

My name is Chavdar Likov. I was born on February 7, 1986 (1986-02-07) (age 26). I have been working on Wikipedia since November 2004 and I have gained a lot of experience. I also have an extensive range of other interests beside Wikipedia, which is one of my primary hobbies. Most of them contribute to my actual work and dedication here, though I am mostly involved with literary and music articles.

[edit] My work at Wikipedia

Аs an uploader, I aim for practicality and "straight-to-the-point" approach. I scrap huge amounts of material that are redundant or overburdensome. When I see a "messy" article I do big and substantial edits just to put some sort of direction of the article into further developing. I have progressed with time. Wikipedia has grown with me too, so I just like to thank those editors, who have shown respect and understanding.

Тhe biggest satisfaction is to see an article embettering. I consider my work here as one of my greatest personal achievements. I have ~12,000 edits, since I came here, which puts in the first ~5000 editors in frequency of edits. Of course, quantity doesn't mean quality, but my edits speak for themselves and I have put my mark on Wikipedia. I want to say concluding this that I am honoured to be part of this project and that I'll be part of it in many years to come.

[edit] My other projects

  • (English), (Bulgarian), (French) I'm working on my blog Libraria Futura. It has English and Bulgarian poetry, fantasy stories and other intersting stuff. I provide stuff that is entirely my own creation.
  • (Bulgarian) My other project is called anthrorevolution! with portraits of the current society and recent developments in culture and the planetary time.
  • (Bulgarian) I am also lending a hand in the Bulgarian gamebook (книги-игри) community Knigi-Igri.Net as an advisor, developer and forum moderator.
