User:Meteor sandwich yum

I'm back!!! And might be taking another Wiki-break. Bureaucracy, dedication to backlogs and community fighting is wearing me out. I read the community boards a lot more often than I post on them. Smoke some we Please do yoga and let it go, people.

About me[edit]

I started out as a WikiGnome and have become an everyman. My addiction to ^love for Wikipedia encompasses many areas. I'm on here almost every day.

I have Asperger's syndrome (high-functioning autism), so I might seem eccentric to other people. This essay on users like me sums it up pretty nicely: "Wikipedia is the ultimate honey-trap". After teaching myself many of the sciences and several programming languages, I am quite pleased to be in an environment where I can contribute positively.

I also have the burden of chronic depression. It makes me reclusive and faithless every now and then, but it won't be my undoing. So please don't hesitate to tell me (politely, if possible) if I do something wrong or grossly unhelpful. It's fine. Really.

I've created a tool to format citations (since I'm so involved with them). It's pretty comprehensive, and formats citations with whitespace uniformly for a smoother look in the editing window. I'm pleased with it, but wish it could leave segments of text alone, and only run on part of the page. No idea how to do that yet...

Why I edit Wikipedia[edit]

One of the things I most enjoy at Wikipedia is the stable environment — the "feel" of the place rarely changes. It feels like home, where even when you wake up in the middle of the night, with the lights out, you can still find your way to the bathroom without bumping into things and waking up the whole household.

Tip of the day...

How to sign your comments

Signing your posts prevents readers from getting your messages confused with those by other users. On talk pages, it is proper etiquette to sign your messages. To do this, add four tildes (~~~~) to the end of your message. When you save the page, these will be converted to your signature followed by a time stamp. The standard "sig" is your username, but you can customize it under your preferences. To include your signature without a time stamp, use three tildes (~~~) instead.
