Thoughts about Wikipedia
Please take the following with a grain of salt, as in all seriousness, I really don't spend all of my time on Wikipedia and I volunteer only when I can/want to. What I've learned about editing Wikipedia since 2006 is that there are a lot of vandals. Simply take a look at the counts in the boxes below. This page itself has been vandalized almost 10 times. My talk page has seen more, and I don't expect the attacks to stop any time soon. Why? because I can't stand people who have nothing better to do than to screw up a project or article. There I said it. I like editing Wikipedia I just wish there was a little more freedom, and I wish some editors would stop acting like admins when they aren't. Some people just put their hands in too many things.
I try to remain civil as much as possible but its hard when I get attacked and provoked from numerous sides on this site. I don't believe in personal attacks, but if someone is being attacked for no good reasons, I tend to stand up with them. Its a trait I am happy to say I have outside of Wikipedia. I like standing up for the little guy. Whenever any other editor gets attacked for no reason, or I myself get attacked or my edits are torn to shreds, it upsets me. Obviously I am not perfect, I am human. I have and will continue to make mistakes. The one thing is, I don't know EVERYTHING about Wikipedia. I am working on knowing more and more about the policies etc. I find it fun editing Wikipedia and I wish people would stop making it such a anti-edit place. My goal here is to help create and share knowledge that I have to make Wikipedia a better place. Thats all I ask... Is it too much to do so? --Milonica
- I found an interesting article that may help those who consider attacking my edits...here.
Self portrait
"I guess I'll go with a... margarita!" - Kurt Russell - Captain Ron. My favorite quote of all time.
Interests
- Viva Ubstudios - Created by yours truly from the ground up.
- Also, long live MiloFM 99.9. - Thank you to the listeners of a "little engine that could" station.
Television shows
My favorite TV shows are as follows:
Films
My all time favorite films are:
... and so many more.
Personal films
These are films I have made myself (though they aren't all that I have done).
Video juegos (games)
My favorite video games are/were:
- Call of Duty 4 - I absolutely love this game. My poor Compaq Presario computer disliked it though my laptop loves it. I don't quite know how it runs on my new custom made computer but I'm guessing it will run great.
- Call of Duty 2 - Both of my computers love this one (I must admit, I do too, more than COD4).
- Starcraft - Don't play it so much any more, but still a gem in my collection. Too many cheaters. I'd like to try the 2nd one but I feel like it might get old after awhile.
- Sim City - 1, 2000, 3000 and 4 are (were?) all very good games.
- Call of Duty and UO - Sooo old, but the start of the best war series ever.
- Medal of Honor Allied Assault - Even older, but very entertaining. Other MOH titles never lived up to this one.
- Civilization II - Not the oldest, but certainly the best of its genre.
- First Encounters - The oldest, circa 1995, and the best game from my early experience with computers.
- Simtower - Meh, it was fun, and addicting.
- The Sims - I played this to death.
- Doom - The first of its kind, and the scariest game there was... until the third one came out.
- Roller Coaster Tycoon - May my CD-ROM copy of this game R.I.P.. It is in the Salt Lake City, Utah landfill.
- Spider solitare - addicting, ahh!
Music
My favorite band is The Moody Blues. Call me crazy, I don't care. I have a preference for 80s music, since I actually respect the decade I was born in.
Radio stations
Yeah I work in radio, what of it.
In regards to radio, my favorite stations are:
- KHTB 94.9 FM - Provo, Utah - Active rock. Marcus "Gets Some" in the morning.
- KBER 101.1 FM - Ogden, Utah - KBER101 Utah's Rock Station. Mick and Allen rule.
- MiloFM-- 101.9 FM. Not notable enough for a Wikipedia article, but notable enough for the people to enjoy. Lots of different programming etc.[1]
- KRSP 103.5 FM - Salt Lake City, Utah - Classic Rock never had a station so good.
- KZQL 105.5 FM - Casper, Wyoming - The station of choice I listened to while in Casper recently. Wasn't there when I lived there from 1989-1999, but I like it.
- KFI 640 AM - Los Angeles, California - The poor station has gone through a lot, but I love it.
- KTNN 660 AM - Window Rock, Arizona - Scariest AM station in the continental United States. Scary to hear Navajo chants at night.
- KKGR 680 AM - Helena, Montana - Now that they are on high power, they are a local here. Good station.
- KTWO 1030 AM - Casper, Wyoming - The best station in Wyoming, despite it being country music.
- KRLD 1080 AM - Dallas, Texas - Mainly because of their jingle ID.
- KOFI 1180 AM - Kalispell, Montana - Monster oldies station of the west.
- KUGR 1490 AM - Green River, Wyoming - Obviously because I work there now, and also it gave me a 1 up to working at Citadel Broadcasting in Salt Lake.
Least favorite radio stations
The following are my least favorite radio stations, with decent reasons why...
- KACP 570 AM - Salt Lake City, Utah - Used to be good before Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh owned the station, and then they left and KNRS went to FM, where it still sucks.
- KSL 1160 AM - Salt Lake City - used to be on the list above, however now that they canned Michael Castner, and their HD signal blocks out a huge chunk of the AM dial, they have been dropped off my list of favorites. I don't foresee this station returning any time soon. Drop HD and get Castner back and I may change my mind. Cheap bastards.
- KANN 1120 AM - Roy, Utah - Because of this station's (non)directional signal, I, among other DXers can NOT hear Portland 1120.
- KSIT 99.7 FM - Rock Springs, Wyoming - Please get that drunk "Lushmoor" out of there and fix your damn audio!
- KWDZ 910 AM - Salt Lake City - The most annoying Radio Disney station in the United States. Why? HD Radio blows goats (on AM anyway)!
- KMRI, KBJA, KXOL, KOVO, KSVN - Salt Lake City metro area- I don't care if there is a large demand for this format, its annoying as hell. The stations listed <<< do not ID enough so its confusing to DXers like myself.
- KLLB 1510 AM - West Jordan, Utah - Honestly, what's the point of this format? Does anyone really listen to this station?'
- KZZQ 97.5 FM - Coalville, Utah. - This station is a complete joke. Give it up Blaze, you suck!
If you disagree with any of my statements above or would like to argue with me, which I don't have a problem with, post on my talk page.
My cat
I am the proud owner of one American Shorthair Tabby Cat, who just happens to be named Milo, he's the fatty in the picture above.
