Kira Coplin is an American author, editor and journalist, best known for co-authoring the HarperCollins fiction release "Pop Tart" with celebrity makeup artist Julianne Kaye. The thinly veiled account of super stardom in Los Angeles is rumored to be about Britney Spears, one of Kaye's former clients.

Coplin's career was jump-started after college graduation when the "New York Post" hired her as a freelance pop culture writer based on a one-time pitch. A "Study in Starlet," an unbiased look at the film "Factory Girl" - based on the life of Andy Warhol model/muse Edie Sedgwick - in its early production stages was published in October of 2005. In addition, Coplin has written both lifestyle editorial and investigative features for publications such as "Cosmogirl", "Zink magazine", "City Magazine", "OK! magazine", "Desert Living" and Modern Luxury Publications, among others.

Prior to writing "Pop Tart", Coplin worked on staff at "Us Weekly" and was Editor-in-Chief at "Chicago Scene Magazine", the premier news and entertainment publication for Chicago's young professional.

In addition, Coplin served as a contributor to the Chronicle Book's 2006 release "Edie: Girl on Fire", based on the life of Edie Sedgwick. Working further alongside Academy-Award nominated-producer, David Weisman ("Kiss of the Spider Woman") and director/co-author Melissa Painter ("Wildflowers (film)"), Coplin help to produce a still unreleased documentary of the same name.

Currently, Coplin serves at the Los Angeles Managing Editor for luxury lifestyle publication, "944 Magazine", which is published monthly in 11 markets across the United States.
