Welcome![edit]

Hi, Mr flea/Archived talk! Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia!   I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. Of the many ways to get help on Wikipedia, I personally recommend our wiki-boot camp, where you can chat online with fellow Wikipedians willing to help, or see some of the resources on WP:Wc!

Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have, on my talk page - I'm happy to help.

Helpme calls[edit]

{{helpme}} I dropped by this article, and noticed that the coordinates listed in the top right conflict with the donation bar at the top (unless you dismiss it), I'm hoping the helpme tag will bring someone by who can fix it (I tried editing the page but it appears that it's a problem with the coor tag itself.) Thanks! mr_flea 01:32, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

It seems that problem occurs on each page that uses Template:GR. I've left a message here describing the problem and asking that the "dismiss" link be raised or lowered so it won't conflict with template-displayed info. Thank you for catching that. SWAdair | Talk 04:41, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I was going through the following four articles, Revelation Space, Redemption Ark, Absolution Gap, and the article about the author of these 3 novels, Alastair Reynolds. I find parts of these articles confusing and they are inconsistent. I attempted to fix a few things, but I am not very experienced in editing on Wikipedia and would love to have an experienced user go over my work and possibly fix some stuff I wasn't sure about. Could someone help me with this issue? (note: also see the talk page of Revelation Space, where I have added a couple comments)

Thanks for reading, mr_flea 01:57, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

My best advice for you is to talk it out on the talk page. Real96 02:34, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Having reviewed your edits (it looked like you got logged out when you edited Absolution and Reynolds), what you did looks fine to me. There was one minor typo I fixed in the Absolution article, but it looks as though you just missed a key. I would agree with Real96 about your concerns - a message on the talk page should attract the attention of someone who is more knowledgeable about the subject and should allow you to address any problems easily. A helpme template is going to have a much lower chance of finding someone who knows what they're talking about here.
Good work so far, keep it up! :-) Hersfold (talk/work) 02:53, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
In reply to comment on my talk page: Your change to "Followed by" made sense to me. By looking at the Documentation for the infobox, they clearly meant for that to be used for a series of books, not the author's complete bibliography. As for the ISBN, it says here that an X can be used as the last digit if some ridiculously complicated mathematical formula comes out to equal 10. So the ISBN's you used should be valid. If not, someone will eventually notice and change them, it's no big deal. Hersfold (talk/work) 14:34, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
