This account is now INACTIVE. I have created a new account, User:Dashunderscore, which I will use for all edits going forward. Please see the User:Dashunderscore homepage for an explanation of the reasons I chose to do this, and use that page for all future comments. Thank you! Welcome to the NextGen911 user page. It is my intent to contribute only to articles that are directly related to the developing technology infrastructure commonly referred to as "Next Generation 911" (NG911). The NG911 initiative aims to transform the Public Safety communications environment to support the widely varied methods of communication in use by the public. As much of this infrastructure is still in the definition and development phase, I expecct that there will be much editing activity over the next few years, and I will welcome contributions and comments from others who have expertise in the field.

Ok, I changed my mind. I want to contribute in other areas I'm interested in - like music history! But only after I learn more about contributing. I think Wikipedia is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

About me[edit]

I worked in the Public Safety communications area for approximately 30 years, and served at the technology officer level for several large organizations. I'm now semi-retired, but do provide advice in this area from time to time - as long as it doesn't interfere with my fishing! I would enjoy discussion with others of similar background, and also guidance on making accurate contributions in the NG911 area.
