[edit] Hi!

I'm Nick Boalch. In the real world I'm an academic and theatremaker; I'm a graduate student in the Spanish Department at the University of Durham and the School of English & Humanities at Birkbeck, University of London, though I'll be spending most of summer 2009 on secondment at Forest Forge Theatre Company in Hampshire. My research is in the theory of translation as applied to visual texts such as theatre, film and television and comics.

I've been an editor since January 2003 (my first edit was to Federico García Lorca) and an Administrator since August 2005, though I took an extended break between mid-2007 and early 2009. On Wikipedia, as in real life, my particular interests are theatre, film, cricket and Hispanic and Catalan history and culture, but I tend to poke my nose into various things that look interesting or where there's a good discussion brewing! I spend a lot of my Wikipedia time replying to some of the Wikimedia Foundation's emails.
