Iowa State Cyclones Track and Field

Hello, I have noticed that you have edited at least one related article to one that I am trying to develop and improve. I wondered if you could look at the Iowa State Cyclones Track and Field article and provide any suggestions to improve this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Riknewton (talkcontribs) 19:50, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I never blocked Zingostar or Matrix17, according to the block log. Adam Bishop (talk) 01:48, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

I know you didn't. I'm asking if you would look into the matter. Razorflame (talk) 02:03, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Ghits

These are "Google hits" - a rough guide to how popular or relevant something is to the modern world, based on how many "hits" (mentions) you get when you search Google.com for a particular term. Using Ghits, without explaining more, is actually considered a poor argument either for deletion or keeping an article. That being said, lots of Ghits means something may be notable, but few Ghits does not prove the reverse. Bearian (talk) 13:07, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Razorflame, thanks for voting in my RfA, which passed with 47 supports (I hoped for a perfect square, but two away is close enough!), 3 opposes (the first odd prime), and 0 neutrals. I'm glad the community has decided to trust me with the mop and bucket (the flamethrower isn't supported). Of course, special thanks goes to my nominators Auawise and that one guy who buried stuff (not that the thanks I give to the you isn't special!). If you ever need a hand with something, or just want to say hello, tough feel free to drop a line! Best wishes, Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 23:01, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

This doesn't even vaguely resemble a mop, but I couldn't find a picture of one.

I can has thankspam?

Re: Admin coaching

I would be glad to help you any way I can. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page.

In regards to your comments about wanting to know what to do to have a successful RfA I have a few comment. First, I don't think that a person's goal should be to be an admin. The greatest power on wikipedia is given to anyone with the inclination to click "edit this page", and compared to that administrators have little more power.

After reviewing your edits I noticed that you have made very few edits to articles, and most of those edits are revering vandalism. While reverting vandalism, and welcoming new users is great, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and you should focus more on expanding articles. Personally I an disinclined to support someone for adminship who has not edited articles, been in conflict with other editors about the article and remained polite.

Again, if you need any help don't hesitate to ask. Jon513 (talk) 14:48, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Personally, I would create articles if there were any topics that I liked to create. Also, as to expanding articles, I would be happy to, but almost all of the information that I have to add has already been added by someone else. Cheers, Razorflame (talk) 14:53, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
There are plenty of areas of wikipedia that have backlogs (Category:Wikipedia backlog) such as articles needing cleanup or to be wikified. There are also plenty of topics on wikipedia which are very far from mature and could be greatly expanded.
What topics are you interested in? Jon513 (talk) 15:05, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
I am interested in Geography, Physics, and Paranormal occurances. Razorflame (talk) 15:07, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Check out Category:Geography stubs, Category:Physics stubs, and Category:Paranormal stubs. Jon513 (talk) 15:41, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome for rollback. :) For practice, you may want to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 15:50, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the page, but I already know how to use the rollback tool. Thanks for the link, though. I will make sure to go read it anyways :) Cheers! Razorflame (talk) 15:50, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace lists all the warnings, and not just for vandalism and blanking. Acalamari 15:58, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

No approval necessary. I just appreciate the warning usage, as it makes it a lot easier to stop ongoing vandalism. Happy editing, --Kukini háblame aquí 16:27, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Rollback template

Copied over from relevant thread on user talk:AGK, per request.

Hey there, AGK. I know you from Simple English Wikipedia. I have a question for you: I remember seeing a userbox for users who have been granted rollback permissions, I just can't seem to find it. Can you help me? Please respond on my talk page as I tend to lose conversations here. Thanks, Razorflame (talk) 19:31, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey there, nice to see you. I believe you're looking for {{User wikipedia/rollback}}? I hope this helps.
Anthøny 19:34, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I was granted rollback permissions earlier today so that I can help fight vandalism better here. Cheers, Razorflame (talk) 19:36, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism

Hehe. No problems. Actually I'm just about to get off right now and grab a bite to eat. For some reason vandalism is particularly high today. Keep up the great work! ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 21:05, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Bill White (19th century MLB player)

I'm afraid your speedy tag rather puzzled me. There's plenty of context there. --Dweller (talk) 13:45, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

There is? All I saw was one line of content that didn't assert the notability of that person. Maybe someone changed it after I put the tag on? Razorflame 13:46, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Whoah! OK, loads there to respond to. This is the diff you created. First, the correct tag for lack of notability assertions for a person is A7, not A1 no context. No context means you can't tell who or what this article is about. Then there's two whopping notability claims in the text you tagged. First that he played professional baseball (which automatically passes our criteria per WP:ATHLETE). But if that wasn't enough, the claim that he was the first black man so to do is a massive notability claim - I'm really surprised you missed it. Maybe, in your desire to be helpful, you're tagging a bit fast. It's an easy trap to fall into after all, and we've all done it. --Dweller (talk) 13:53, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the tips. I'll try to slow down in the future :) Cheers, Razorflame 15:01, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi. You did not let me finish my edits. Please see the final result b/c there is some cruft to be removed.

Thanks, Swaleswamp (talk) 18:00, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

All right. Sorry for reverting it so quickly. It looked like you were removing content, so that was what I was looking for. My mistake! Cheers, Razorflame 18:01, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which passed with 194 supporting, 9 opposing, and 4 neutral.
Your kindness and constructive criticism is very much appreciated. I look forward to using the tools you have granted me to aid the project. I would like to give special thanks to Tim Vickers, Anthony and Acalamari for their nominations.
Thank you again, VanTucky

Please watch what you revert.

I've deleted the edits in question, but on Talk:Alia Sabur, you reverted an IP and thus re-added an insinuation that the article subject was gay, and had been molested by her father. Ral315 (talk) 17:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry. I quickly read over the section that I was adding back in and found no evidence that that was wrong, however, after re-reading it, I have found that you are correct. I will more closely watch what I revert in the future. Cheers, Razorflame 19:31, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
