Hello fellow Wikipedians! Just so you know, I will be leaving in September 2009 to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Writing for Wikipedia has been great—you have given me more perspective and helped me learn how to get along with other people better. Thanks for the service you've done for me and for everyone else that uses Wikipedia. See you in 2011! —Remember the dot (talk)

[edit] A short story

Well, to tell you a little bit about me, there is a story behind my username. I was with a group of friends at an event where people kept failing to pronounce the dot in "VB .NET". This led me to say "DOT net" whenever someone left out the dot. So my friends nicknamed me "DOT net" or "dot" for short.

This story actually says a lot about me and my attention to detail. Feel free to help me achieve the following goals for Wikipedia:

  • Add credible sources to back up content.
  • Use the <ref> tag to cite sources when appropriate.
  • Use the cite web and cite news templates to cite sources when appropriate.
  • This is good.[1]
  • This is bad[1].
  • This is also bad. [1]
  • Convert GIF images to PNG images whenever the PNG image has a smaller file size.
  • Convert GIF and PNG images to SVG images whenever possible.
  • Use valid XHTML<br> should be <br/>
  • Improve the general clarity and accuracy of Wikipedia.
