This is Roozbeh Pournader (Persian: روزبه پورنادر; Chinese: 普德纳) originally of Tehran, Iran but now living in San Francisco and working in Silicon Valley.
Life and work
I used to live in Tehran, but I have now moved to California.
I used to work as the CTO of Sharif FarsiWeb, Inc., a company doing software localization, internationalization, standardization, and free software and Open Source customization, consulting, and development. FarsiWeb has its own GNU/Linux distribution, its users including Royal Dutch Shell branch in Iran. It's a great company to work for if you live in Iran and are interested in free software. It's so interesting that I never even considered any job offer in Iran while I was working for FarsiWeb.
Now I'm working as an internationalization specialist at HighTech Passport, Ltd, which is a boutique internationalization and localization company.
Wikipedia
I became an admin in the English Wikipedia in April, 2004.
This is the same user as روزبه on the Persian Wikipedia, of which I was the main founder.
Most of my contributions to the Wikipedia has been about Iranian people or politics, but I am also interested in copyright-related cleanup. Cleanup is specially important since we can't anymore assume that contributors know much about the copyright law, or even that they have good intentions: Wikipedia becoming so popular results in people trying to introduce issues of their interest in the Wikipedia at any cost, including copyright violations.
For a partial list of the articles in the English Wikipedia started by me, see /Contributions.
For an interesting article about one of my contributions to Wikipedia, see Word War III, from the Washington Post.
