About me

Just living is not enough. One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower. ~Hans Christian Andersen.
Hope, deceitful as it is, serves at least to lead us to the end of our lives by an agreeable route. ~ François Duc de La Rochefoucauld.

Hello and welcome to my userpage! I am the proud Wikipedian Sainsf, a very content and helpful and obviously curious Wikipedian! I am a student from India. I do not have much knowledge about a certain field, well, I keep contributing to subjects that most impress me. Just to say, (even if my beloved userboxes are much too talkative... well) I keep haunting, I mean trotting in, the GAN page. I love expanding rather than creating articles. Newbies, if you need any help, I have great alacrity to resolve your issues.

The Wikiworld[edit]

I have always wanted to write in an encyclopaedia. So contributing to Wikipedia is a great pleasure. I have always enjoyed fixing up whatever errors possible, expanding stubs, and so on. A Wikipedian is always busy with editing, writing, fixing articles, and taking care of the policies. I prefer improving articles to creating articles. I am such a Wikipedian. Helpful users like Mysdaao, Sasata and Phaedriel guided me in my early days, and how many blunders and silly errors did I not make! I am also a member of the Birthday and Welcoming Committees and the Kindness Campaign.

I love writing articles about fungi, plants and animals, for my great love for nature and its enchanting beauties. Initially I contributed to a variety of stuff, but finally narrowed my area of editing and began developing and reviewing articles about mammals. I am not always around, held back by school. Here are those articles, some of whom I have written and some I have developed :

Today's featured article

Maya Angelou in 1993

Maya Angelou's books of poetry are widely admired best-sellers, though not as critically acclaimed as her seven autobiographies. Angelou (1928–2014), a prominent African-American writer, used everyday language, the Black vernacular, Black music and forms, and sometimes shocking language to explore themes of love, loss, and struggle against oppression and hardship. Her poetry is not easily categorized, and has been compared with musical forms including the blues. She studied and began writing poetry at a young age, in part to cope with trauma, as she described in her first and best-known autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. She became a poet after touring Europe in the cast of Porgy and Bess and performing calypso music in nightclubs in the 1950s. Her first volume of poetry, Just Give Me a Cool Drink of Water 'fore I Diiie (1971), was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. In 1993, she recited one of her best-known poems, "On the Pulse of Morning", at President Bill Clinton's inauguration (pictured). Her poetry has not received as much critical attention as her prose; this has been attributed to her popular success and to critics' preferences for poetry as a written form rather than a verbal, performed one. For these give serenity to the mind...[edit]

In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.
~ Aristotle (384 BC - 322 BC), Parts of Animals
Mountains inspire awe in any human person who has a soul. They remind us of our frailty, our unimportance, of the briefness of our span upon this earth. They touch the heavens, and sail serenely at an altitude beyond even the imaginings of a mere mortal.
~ Elizabeth Aston, The Exploits & Adventures of Miss Alethea Darcy, 2005
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.
~ John Muir (1838 - 1914), Our National Parks, 1901
Come to the woods, for here is rest. There is no repose like that of the green deep woods. Here grow the wallflower and the violet. The squirrel will come and sit upon your knee, the logcock will wake you in the morning. Sleep in forgetfulness of all ill. Of all the upness accessible to mortals, there is no upness comparable to the mountains.
~ John Muir (1838 - 1914), Atlantic Monthly, January 1869
A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.
~ Henry David Thoreau
