Christopher Causton (born August 15, 1946 in Cobham, Surrey), UK is a Canadian politician. He is a the sitting mayor of Oak Bay, British Columbia since 1996.
In 1968 Causton earned a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow.
Causton moved to Victoria in 1972, and owned and operated Rattenbury's Restaurant in downtown Victoria. He first lived in the James Bay and Fernwood area of Victoria, before settling in Oak bay in the early 80s.
He first ran for office in 1987 as an Oak Bay City Councilor where he served until he became mayor in 1996. He is a popular Mayor having been elected four times.
Causton is known as the first mayor to introduce electric cars to British Columbia in Oak Bay. He has gained a reputation for being fiscally responsible while being progressive on social and environmental issues. Causton was also the first Mayor in British Columbia to introduce a levy for public parks.

The August 10, 2007 edition of the Oak Bay News newspaper ran a front page story on Mayor Causton. Causton announced that he would be seeking the Federal Liberal nomination for Victoria. It did not come as a surprise to many, as Causton had made it known that he would be making the leap to federal politics. He stated that he was impressed with how the Liberal Party made its policy and what their goals were. He received a high profile endorsement from popular former MP David Anderson. He will be running against Denise Savoie of the New Democratic Party, who has held the seat since 2006.
Christopher and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married since 1980 and have two daughters, Sarah and Jennifer. Both Elizabeth and Sarah are social workers and Jennifer is with the Peace Corps in Rwanda.
