Silent Sound is a project by visual artists Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard. The work began life as a live performance at St. George's Hall, Liverpool on Thursday 14th September 2006, before existing as an Ambisonics recording at A Foundation's Greenland Street gallery for ten weeks during the Liverpool Biennial 2006. Like much of Forsyth & Pollard's work, the project involved many collaborators including Jason Pierce from the band Spiritualized and Doctor of Parapsychology Ciarán O' Keeffe. Graphic design for the project was carried out by Chris Bigg and Vaughan Oliver at V23. A key reference point for the project is The Davenport Brothers, Victorian Spiritualists who performed at St. George's Hall in Liverpool in 1865 and were famous for devising the Spirit Cabinet.
