The Paperhead

The Paperhead (formerly the Looking Glass) is an American Psychedelic band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The group consists of Ryan Jennings (Lead Guitar, Vocals),Peter Stringer-Hye (Bass, Vocals), Walker Mimms (Drums), Matt McQueen (keyboards). The band’s name is inspired by a lyric in “My Clown,” a song by ’60s British psych-band July. Their music features electronic sound effects, backward tape loops, textured pop layers, Eastern influences and eerie, unearthly vocals.

The Paperhead got started in the summer of '09, writing music and playing house shows around town. At that time the band was know as the Looking Glass. Their first album was recorded under that name and put out as a cassette tape by Infinity Cat Recordings, home of [The Brotherhood], Pujol and Diarrhea Planet. It was later rereleased on vinyl by Ample Play Records in London under the title "Focus in on the Looking Glass". The band's second self titled album, was released by Trouble in Mind Records and received attention on music blogs and publications.

The Band has toured on and off since 2011. In January of 2013, they played the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia.
