Hello! My name is TCMemoire. The "TC" in my name is a reference to my YouTube channel (which I will not link because this is Wikipedia, and I don't self-advertise anywhere), and I added "Memoire" because I am very interested in history, especially genealogy and local; speak some French; and love foreign cultures. I have been editing Wikipedia since July 2013 and have been using it since about 2007.
In August 2014, I will be attending university and majoring in (of all things for a Wikipedian!) marketing and possibly journalism. Unfortunately, this also means that next year, I won't have as much time for Wikipedia. The subjects that interest me most are history, foreign languages, English, geography, and government.
Because I am currently in school, I sometimes get swamped and will be inactive for days, and my Wikipedia schedule is permanently irregular. I edit and respond to other editors only when I am able to. (Also, I tend to use my class time to fight vandalism during peak hours. But don't worry, it doesn't detract from my studies. Yay learning!)
Living in what is usually considered to be the middle of nowhere of the U.S. for at least the next 5 years, I'm very thankful that I can be helpful to Wikipedia in providing reliable print sources that can be exclusive to my region (see my reference page). The area I contribute to the most is in the area of South Dakota history. I'm always excited when I meet a fellow Wikipedian from South Dakota or Wyoming. We're an endangered species! We must stick together!
I participate/have participated in multiple projects and perform several behind-the-scenes tasks on Wikipedia. I don't have a set schedule with these and try to check back regularly to see which ones need immediate attention. I have many SD articles on my watchlist. My tasks include anti-vandalism, cleaning the Page Curation log, stub-sorting, and sorting comments in Article Feedback. I also use Twinkle to tag articles, welcome and warn users, leave Talkback notes, etc.
I'm a very friendly and social, though sometimes strict, person. I'm always eager to help where I'm needed. Remember that I'm only human, and that I am not knowledgable about all things in the world and especially not on Wikipedia, though I try my very best; so I will make mistakes here and there, but please, be patient and forgiving with me. (And yes, I am one of those regulars who does not appreciate being templated.) Feel free to leave any comments, concerns, etc. on my talk page! :)
A big thank you to these users who have encouraged me!
