Ray Tapajna Chronicles online since 1998, forecasted the global economic crisis years ago based on top experts in the field of free trade and globalization including Sir James Goldsmith who wrote the book The Trap and Manuel Castells who wrote many books related to free trade and globalization. Ray Tapajna Chronicles mixes published letters and articles with his topical editorial artwork. Ray is an advocate for human dignity in the workday, fair trade, real world trade and local value added economies.

Ray provides a history of free trade and its failures since 1956 noting that the U.S. Federal Government sponsored the moving of factories outside of the USA in that year. This was the same year that the Suez Canal crisis exposed a world wide financial crisis with the worst money problems being in England. This led to the globalization of money where money became a global international product. Free trade was started to support the financial communities who instigated many money products. This prompted the moving of production outside of countries for the sake of cheaper labor.

This evolved into the maquiladora factory program in Mexico and Central America where impoverished workers were used to provide cheaper tangible products to grow the value of the money products. With paper being printed without any real value, many manipulations were needed to create more ways to grow value under international controls.

By 1992, more than 2,000 U.S. factories were moved to Mexico alone. The elder President Bush designed new programs to consummate the process that was already going on for many years with both major parties particpating in the process. President Clinton came and pushed the passage of Bush's programs in both the NAFTA and GATT unfair trade agreements. The term free trade was applied although it was not trade as historically practiced and defined. Free trade is basically on moving factories from place to place for the sake of cheaper labor. Production was made portable ready to be moved again and again if local workers protests or regulations became too strong. Outsourcing and insourcing of labor followed with the value of workers and labor deflated. After President Obama bailed out the money changer free traders and put them back in charge, free trade now has many variations based on location of the investments and governments acting as brokers and dealers in the transactions.

After President Clinton and a Democrat Congress passed NAFTA and GATT, the number of factories moved to Mexico doubled quickly to more than 4,000. Republican Senator Bob Dole and Congressman New Gingrich, leader of the new Contract with Americans, - and even Rush Limbaugh joined President Clinton as one in the passing of these unfair trade ageements.

Soon after that, Presidet Clinton had to rush billions of dollars to Mexico to save the peso and the Mexican economy because free trade was a failure from the very beginning. This bail out acted as the first U.S. stimulus package and it went to a foreign nation.
