[edit] About me
My name is Derk-Jan Hartman. Most people will know me as one of the developers of VLC media player. I'm also a contributor to the MediaWiki software that runs Wikipedia and to Wikimedia Mobile.
[edit] Wiki interests
Most of my time is spent answering questions of editors on the technical Village Pump, maintaining the site specific Javascript and CSS, working on templates and doing administrative work with regard to images (moving, deleting etc). I also do a lot of work with various User scripts and Gadgets. My article interests are with topics regarding space and the Netherlands. I'm an occasional author for The Signpost.

[edit] People being nice
Some people are really nice and have seen it fit to award me a barnstar. If vandals are one side of the Wikipedia spectrum, these people are surely at the complete opposite end.

The Template Barnstar |
| I've begun to include the Episode list template into the List of South Park episodes page. Before the template was made, the WikiProject was pretty much dead. Thanks for your hard work into making this a reality! Here's a barnstar to show my appreciation. Will2k 03:21, 12 June 2006 (UTC) |

The da Vinci Barnstar |
| The da Vinci Barnstar may be awarded to technical-type folk (programming and tools, bot building, admin or sysop work, link repair, Mediawiki developers, etc.) who use their skills to help the project or their other editors. For persevering with my troubles in getting my javascript working, you get one just for yourself :-). Thank you again for your help. AGK 14:08, 17 May 2010 (UTC) |
[edit] Past wikiwork
I used to be very active in Wikipedia:WikiProject Television and its subprojects that are now taskforce. However after several heavy disputes within the community, I decided it was best to avoid this topic within Wikipedia and left that project.
