Hello, I'm Tom. I'm a Wikipedia admin, software developer and OpenStreetMap contributor based in London.
Here at Wikipedia, I edit articles about philosophy, politics, technology, LGBT topics, television, and really anything that takes my fancy. I mostly engage in maintenance work, closing articles for deletion discussions, and requests for page protection.
I'm a software developer and have worked for a number of organisations in both the public and private sector, programming in Ruby, Java and Python primarily. I'm interested in the Semantic Web and am currently involved in IndieWebCamp. I maintain a personal site at tommorris.org.
Tom's WP:RS search engine — a Google Custom Search Engine I've built for finding reliable sources. I use it as a very simple way of checking to find reliable sources. But remember: not finding something on there doesn't mean there isn't anything there. Just a good heuristic way of hunting reliable sources.
Thank you for joining and contributing the British Library editathon, you definitely earned this barnstar! Cheers Fæ (talk) 23:27, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
The Signpost Barnstar
For your excellent work as a writer of the Signpost's "News and notes" and "In the news" sections, which I was allowed to witness as the Signpost's editor during recent months, I award you the Signpost Barnstar. Regards, HaeB (talk) 00:56, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Great work and perserverance with these vandals. For the past few hours I hadn't noticed anyone else reverting, then all of a sudden you popped up with dozens of reverts. Great work!!! Sincerely, He'sGoneMental 15:09, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
The Userpage Shield
For his tireless effort protecting my Userpage from vandals I didn't even notice, it is my honor and priviledge to present this Barnstar to Tom Morris Achowat (talk) 18:48, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar

The Barnstar of High Culture
I, SarahStierch, hereby award Tom Morris with this award for your "high brow" contributions related to television programs. Reading the articles make me not only not regret watching television, but also reminds me of what is wrong with the world. ;) And they're often pretty funny and off the wall. Great job! (Seriously!) The Real Life Barnstar
For your commitment in spending some hours, at short notice, dealing with the idiocy of a troublemaker who tried to harass and threaten Wikipedia's younger editors. Zero tolerance for cowards like these is the right approach, and you applied that approach admirably. I know many other people also helped, please break a piece off this barnstar and send it to them in the post. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 02:13, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
The Admin's Barnstar
Awarded for your diligent work in dealing with one of the worst sort of banned users, on more than one occasion. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:18, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
For your time and contributions to the recent Smithsonian History Edit-A-Thon! --Digitaleffie (talk) 17:22, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Span has given you a cupcake for your contributions. Say thank you by passing on the cupcake to someone whose work you appreciate.
The Barnstar of Good Humor
I have to say, the I-beat-Jimmy WikiLove message is superb. :-) James F.(talk) 12:07, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
