[edit] Nyabinghi solicitation
I have twice reverted the attempts of an anonymous editor using this IP address to promote the Nyabinghi in the article on Youngstown, Ohio. The enthusiasm for Youngstown's "premiere live music venue and drunk haven" (according to its website) is perhaps understandable and may even be commendable, but Wikipedia policy does not allow commercial advertising, however subtle, in its articles.
If one really wants to be able to add information on this facility in an encyclopedic manner, one might consider adding a section on prominent businesses and collecting citable published references that indicate why each of the selected businesses is chosen as representative in an article about the city. However, unless one does a thorough job, other editors are likely to consider such an effort a transparent attempt to promote specific businesses and remove it per policy. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 23:13, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
