[edit] Einstein quote
Cutler, you appear to be responsible for the extension of the article on Felix Ehrenhaft. There's a quote by Einstein, which I find interesting. Unfortunately, it's not references. Can you add it? Many thanks in advance! --Suspekt (talk) 21:31, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Fine by me
Your "weird" article works for me and there are a lot of legal pages that are useful and this would be a nice example for DYK. The link to Matisse gives a nice hook (and illustration!). Tell you what is odd, I wrote Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations yesterday. It needs a co-author to take it to 2,000 words ... any interest? Victuallers (talk) 15:20, 6 March 2008 (UTC) ...o yours is now nominated. Not sure the picture can remain in your article under fair use ... it could be argued that the "true owner" is very likely to object to any showing of this image. [edit] two "weird" articles for dyk
- ...that the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations required all of the 241 UK work related deaths in 2006/7 to be reported - even if the victims take a year to die? by Cutler and Victuallers OK? I think you have ended up doing a lot more than I expected... but there should be 2 odd articles now :-) Victuallers (talk) 11:51, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] UK Legislation Infobox
Just to let you know, I have folded the two UK legislation infoboxes together. I have taken the code from your version and made three tweaks. The IF statements that you had used for three of the rows at the bottom of the table have been altered so that if there is not text for those parameters the rows do not appear in the table at all. It is simply a cosmetic change to make the table appear more neat when nothing has been entered into those three rows. I have altered all of the links to the version that you created to the other version of the template, simply because its capitalisation is more consistent and more articles use it. I will add the table of links to legislation to the bottom of those articles which do not have it. David Newton (talk) 22:23, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:AJTC logo.png
Thank you for uploading Image:AJTC logo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 16:04, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] sup vs. small
At the time I used the tag rather than the <small> tag I did not have any particular reason for doing so. However, after having looked at the results of the two I think that the superscript tag is the superior one to use. The whole point of shrinking the text is to save space. Both of the tags create text that is the same size. However the superscript text has less white space between the lines and thus takes it considerably less vertical screen real estate. [edit] Infobox UK legislation
You appear to have created a duplicate of {{Infobox UK Legislation}} at {{Infobox UK legislation}}. Is there any particular reason for this? Road Wizard (talk) 13:52, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sir Sidney Rowlatt.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Sir Sidney Rowlatt.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Christian Evidence Society
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Christian Evidence Society, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Unsourced stub on obscure 19th century creationist group. Has been in existence for over 3 years without any substantive content being added.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. HrafnTalkStalk 11:19, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
[edit] OSCOLA
Hi Cutler, and happy new year. I just wanted to say, I've moved my article style to OSCOLA, because it appears that the House of Lords has too, and most (good?) journals are doing this now. I was just wondering if you'd do the same, so we're consistent on the English law cases? It basically means doing "v" instead of "v.", which saves quite a lot of keystrokes over a lifetime! [edit] Image permission problem with Image:William Fairbairn.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:William Fairbairn.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:49, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] File source problem with File:Classic_fatigued_axle.JPG
Thanks for uploading File:Classic_fatigued_axle.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:02, 4 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 18:02, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Cutler! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 201 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

- Claire Gordon - Find sources: "Claire Gordon" – news · books · scholar · free images
- Ben Black (rugby league) - Find sources: "Ben Black (rugby league)" – news · books · scholar · free images

[edit] Speedy deletion nomination of Ben Greene
Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Ben Greene, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
