[edit] Vegetarianism and Pythagoreanism
Why do you want to break the link between Vegetarianism and Pythagoreanism? You're deleting everything that constitutes a link between the two, and you're not commenting on your deletions or on any other of your edits. Please explain. --- Andkaha(talk) 19:40, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Not only was Pythagoras not a Vegetarian, he actualy had a taboo against "the avoidance of meat due to the risk of canibalism." If one equates human and animal life as being equal, eating a person becomes as easy as eating a fish. He was a strict omnivore. He hated beans as well, as he said "the farting breaks concentration." If you check the reference on the Pythagorean wiki you'll see what I mean. It's a very recent translation and considered more credible than most "well known" third hand "facts" about him, compared with direct quotes of his.
- I don't think we're talking about whether he was vegetarian or not. You are deleting the fact that Vegetarians were called Pythagoreans, a fact that has nothing to do with whether Pythagoras was actually vegetarian or not. This amounts to revisionism, and I'm correcting it. You are also inserting junk characters into external link sections and breaking interwiki links, see e.g. the language links (in the external link section) of the Pythagoreanism article, which for some langauges are totally unusable now. I'm going to try to fix this as well. --- Andkaha(talk) 21:34, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hmmm... what's a "strict omnivore"? Because of the historically strong connection between vegetarianism and pythagoranism, I'm reinstating the external vegetarian links that you deleted from the Pythagoreanism article. If you think this is in error, than please by all means, move these to a separate section in the article describing the erroneous link between these two subjects, or better yet, discuss it with others on the discussion page. --- Andkaha(talk) 21:57, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summaries
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.
