[edit] Matthew Modine
Hey - I guess Modine wants my 2008 photo of him replaced, because he had lighter hair back then and isn't a fan of my shot. I have a really nice shot of him I took at the premiere of PoliWood (film), the problem is I was having problems with my flash, and it didn't go off. As you can see, my Photoshop attempts have produced too much noise. I was wondering if you would ping my e-mail, and I can send the raw version to you and see what you come up with? I have proper shots with flash, but this is the most flattering of all (of course). -->David Shankbone 23:55, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] FYI
Do you remember asking User:Yachtsman1 to clearly state whether his work on Guantanamo related topics was a conflict of interest?
Could you please review his comments here? Geo Swan (talk) 12:12, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

- I still have no conflict of interest, I just disagree with Geoswan's proposition that any DOD member identify him or herself as a matter of principle as it provdes a ready-made motive for striking any and all contributions on these subjects. Just thought you should know from where my opinion stems.--Yachtsman1 (talk) 17:58, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Claymore Mine
Thank you for your work on the Claymore mine. As a point of information, can you confirm that there is some sort of official device to make the mine detonate by tripwire (laser, IR beam, whatever)? I am long-retired, and know how to make it work with batteries and a clothes pin, but is there a real method for this? I have seen it in video games, but that is not a cite. [edit] Fair use rationale for File:Game screenshot, gunners view, m1 tank platoon, ibm pc vga.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Game screenshot, gunners view, m1 tank platoon, ibm pc vga.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 06:23, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit] MK 24 FIDO
I see you may be the originator of the MK 24 Mine article. My grandfather worked on that project for Bell Labs. I recently found some old photos and information in a box in my mothers basement. I also located a living member of the Harvard Underwater Sound Lab (HUSL) who also worked on this project and he has some great additional information. How do I add this to the article? The first successful test of the MK 24 was on December 7, 1942, one year to the date of Pearl Harbor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.24.179.205 (talk) 15:09, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

[edit] photo help
Hi - don't know if you're the right person to ask for help but I'm at my wits end trying to source a photo for the Nancy Price article. Am I right in thinking that an image is free to use 70 years after the photography has died (in the uk)? Bassano who died in 1913 took photos of Nancy Price in 1912 - could these be used to illustrate the article? there's one here :http://www.flickr.com/photos/32348795@N05/3237592867/in/pool-httpwwwflickrcomgroups661634n24/#/photos/32348795@N05/3237592867/in/pool-661634@N24/ but obviously that's on Flickr I'm stuck basically - if you can help (or can recommend someone else who can) I'd be really gratefulExcellentone (talk) 20:32, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit] DYK for AA.20
| On 27 February 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article AA.20, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the guidance system of the AA.20 air-to-air missile was based on that of missiles intended for use against tanks? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

[edit] Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.
For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:38, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

[edit] File source problem with File:Chaparral Mim-72.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Chaparral Mim-72.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Marcus Qwertyus 08:02, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
