[edit] Assistants Cemetery

I think you have made a mistake in translating Assistens as Assistants. In Danish, these cemeteries were first called Assistance Kirkegaard as they were intended to serve as an addition to the church cemeteries, often in the town centres, which had become too full. At that time, the correct English would therefore have been Assistance Cemetery. However, as the current Danish spelling Assistens reflects the phonetics rather than the original name, I think it would be more correct to use the term "Assistens Cemetery" in English too. I realise you have a redirect on this but I would advise you to move the entire article from "Assistants Cemetery" to "Assistens Cemetery" and the article "Assistants Cemetery (Copenhagen)" to "Assistens Cemetery (Copenhagen)" (for which there is no redirect). It therefore looks as if there is nothing in English on Assistens Cemetery in Copenhagen! Please note that the Copenhagen authorities also use Assistens Cemetery in their English-language literature. I would have made the changes myself but thought I ought to give you the chance to comment on my suggestions first. Perhaps you have found other references to Assistants Cemetery in authentic English-language literature or have some other reason to use the term. Please let me have your reactions.Ipigott (talk) 14:05, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Berlingske newspaper logo.png

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Berlingske newspaper logo.png. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:27, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Template:Navyships

Hello! This template that you created way back in 2005 has been replaced over time, and is currently used in only two articles. WP:SHIPS produced {{Infobox Ship}} which has become the standard for use in ship articles. I'll be modifying those two remaining articles to use the standard template and proposing deletion for the old one, unless you have any strenuous objection. Good to see an editor from 2005 is still so active! Maralia 03:37, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sonny (robot)

Nuvola apps important yellow.svg

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Sonny (robot), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] AfD nomination of Sonny (robot)

Nuvola apps important.svg

An editor has nominated Sonny (robot), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sonny (robot) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 03:44, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Irak dancon2.jpg)

Nuvola apps important blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:Irak dancon2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:07, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Great Sphinx of Giza

Hi Twthmoses, I would just like to thank you for your recent addition to Great Sphinx of Giza [1]. I know quite well that the Ancient Egyptian race controversy is controversial (probably the most controversial article at WP, currently), but I still think that it should be possible to sort it out in a friendly and polite manner, at least when we tackle it part after part. Your contribution to Great Sphinx of Giza has pointed out it is only a minority view that actually cares about the question whether the Sphinx was 'black'. Still, it is notable. Now there are only a dozen or so other parts of the controversy that we would need to sort out. Zara1709 (talk) 16:44, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Message for Twthmoses

Dear Twthmoses,

  • Would you be willing to replace the photo license for your 2 images here: [2] and [3] from {{CopyrightedFreeUseProvidedThat|it is reproduced accurately and not used in a misleading context, credit is given and copyright is attributed.}}? It is very restrictive!
  • This would be a better photo license: {{cc-by-sa-3.0|Lasse Jensen}}
If you could change the license to your photos here, then I could move them to Commons and everyone on French/Deutschi/Espanol/Italiano/etc Wikipedia can use them, not just people on English Wikipedia. The 'cc by sa 3.0' license still protects your moral rights, ensures that you are attributed as the author and that you do not endorse how others use your 2 wonderful images here. Please think about changing the image license to {{cc-by-sa-3.0|Lasse Jensen}}
  • This is one image which I uploaded on Commons: [4]

It is used on English wikipedia: Senusret II and Deutsch Wikipedia here Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 08:03, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Dear Lasse/Twthmoses, Could you please consider using this license instead for your photo here: {{CopyrightedFreeUseProvidedThat|it is reproduced accurately, credit is given to the photographer and copyright is attributed.}} for [5]
  • I am sure people on French, Deutsch, Danish, etc Wikipedia would like to use it But your license statement to not use the image in a misleading context means it cannot be moved to WikiCommons because it is vague/unclear. Who can judge what is a misleading context? This means only people on English Wikipedia can use it. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 06:16, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Notice for Twthmoses

Dear Twthmoses, I contacted you 2 or 3 times...but you never replied to my inquiry. I am confused by your response. Anyway, I am an honest person; so I will tell you this now. I have moved your image of the 'Gateway of Ptolemy III Euergates I / Ptolemy IV Philopator' from English Wikipedia to Wikimedia Commons/WikiCommons here: [6] I changed the wording of the license to "reproduced accurately, credit is given and copyright is attributed to the author (L. Jensen)."

When your image is on WikiCommons, contributors on French, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Chinese, etc Wikipedia can also use it--not just those on English Wikipedia. BUT...if you do not wish this image to be on WikiCommons, please let me know and I will contact an Admin to delete it. I hope that it is acceptable, however, because the only other pictures of the Temple of Monthu does not show the gateway of Ptolemy III/Ptolemy IV as well as your photo does. See this on WikiCommons: [7]
  • For your information, this is the only photograph by you which I moved to Wikimedia Commons. I will not touch any of your other photos.
Thank You, With kind Regards from Canada, --Leoboudv (talk) 03:02, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] NowCommons: File:Frederic Louis Norden.png

File:Frederic Louis Norden.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Frederic Louis Norden.png. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Frederic Louis Norden.png]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 21:38, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] File:Precinct of Montu 003.jpg

Official Notification: I moved this image by you (Mr. Jensen) from Wikipedia to Wikimedia Commons so that all the non-English wikis can use it. I changed the license wording a little to "reproduced accurately, credit is given and copyright is attributed to the author (Lasse Jensen)." You are fully named as the author. [edit] Unreferenced BLPs

Information.svg Hello Twthmoses! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 436 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Holger Pedersen (astronomer) - Find sources: "Holger Pedersen (astronomer)"news · books · scholar · JSTOR · free images

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 00:42, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Holger Pedersen (astronomer)

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Holger Pedersen (astronomer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Insufficient reliable secondary sources from which to write a biography.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kevin (talk) 03:37, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Pi-Ramesses

After an argie-bargie here ended up with an editor being blocked, and a comment by another editor at Talk:Avaris, I'm thinking that Pi-Ramesses needs to be restored and the material, or most of it, removed from Avaris. Most modern mentions suggest it was at Qantir, which is near Avaris but not Avaris. Dougweller (talk) 08:47, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Autopatrolled

Wikipedia Autopatrolled.svg

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 18:29, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Non-Free rationale for File:Lancelot from King Arthur 2004.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lancelot from King Arthur 2004.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:11, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
