[edit] resource exchange
Hi WhisperToMe,
I'd like to archive some of the requests at the resource exchange. You've got a few requests from the last few months where you haven't noted whether you've received the requested articles. Could you go through and say whether you've received them so we can mark them as resolved and archive them? Thanks, GabrielF (talk) 17:06, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit] Iran-Venezuela relations
Hi there, I finished writing Iran-Venezuela relations article in Persian and now is available here. Its title in Persian is "روابط ایران و ونزوئلا". It has been wikified and contains both categories and interwikis. You may want to have someone review it. It's OK and I have no objection. Regards AMERICOPHILE 22:31, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] MSU Interview
Dear WhisperToMe,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
- The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 07:26, 12 February 2012 (UTC) Young June Sah --Yjune.sah (talk) 22:08, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] AfD and PROD notifications
Hi WhisperToMe. Awhile back you got either an AFD or PROD notification, and it was during one of the template testing project's experiments. If you could go here and leave us some feedback about what you think about the new versions of the templates we tested, that would be very useful. We're specifically looking for info about whether the messages were more effective at communicating how people should participate in deletion processes as the author of the article. (You can also email me at swalling
wikimedia.org if you want.) Thanks! Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 00:35, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] AMRI Fire Tragedy
I have seen your very well written Comayagua prison fire. I am planning to start an article on a fire tragedy in a hospital in Kolkata, Inida - AMRI Hospital which claimed 90 human lives. Fire in a hospital and so many deaths - is one of the rarest incidents! See: Web Article Can you help me in the proposed article? You can add a {{tb}} in my Talk Page.. --WhisperToMe (talk) 18:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Peru
No, I am not in Peru. For some reason, adding the "I was born in Lima" userbox apparently carries the cathegory of "living in Lima". Sorry.--WhisperToMe (talk) 18:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Redirects Allison Ambrose and others
I just discovered the Category: Survivors of aviation accidents or incidents and learned most of the persons there are actually redirects and I saw you created the redirects. Were these ever actual articles on people or were they redirects all along? The reason I'm asking is me and another aviation editor the redirects should be deleted. See this talk page.[1] If you have comments, please write there or here. I'll keep an eye out. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
-
- Ah, ok.
I think the consensus is that if the passengers were not mentioned in the article, then their redirects should be deleted. So if they aren't mentioned in the article, I will have no objections to their deletion WhisperToMe (talk) 17:53, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

- I brought your reply over here to keep this conversation running together. Actually I mentioned that on the end of my first post here.
- Here's the thing, Allison Ambrose, is a very brief mention in the 2001 near mid-air Japan incident. Does that make her notable enough for a redirect? I don't think so, but probably all the redirects need to be nominated for deletion so editors can debate whether any should be saved.
- BTW I am in favor of saving the category. Just get the redirects cleaned up, cleared out.- WhisperToMe (talk) 18:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's fine to nominate them all together. Since Ambrose is mentioned, it could be debatable. Her friend Meggan Wesche actually was interviewed about it, so I think her case is stronger. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Refdesk question about pronunciation of 仔
Hi, I posted a further reply to your question about the pronunciation of 仔 on the Language ref desk, thought I would bring it to your attention because it may impact on your edits to the article Xindian district. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 13:33, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Musashi, the Samurai Lord
WhisperToMe, this article needs to be improved a little bit more, don't you think? I can help improving it but I need some help, I guess. --Hydao (talk) 22:24, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- Well, you created the article, so I suppose you watched the anime or something? I watched the anime only once, as a kid, so I don't remember much, but the Japanese wikipedia is very complete. My english is not the best so I'd better don't translate Japanese to English, too risky. I can write a little about the Game Boy game since I own it since 1991. I wanted to add a infobox picture too, to illustrate the article. :) --Hydao (talk) 22:41, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

- How about using this one? http://pierrot.jp/title/musashi/catalog/ - I think it's a cover from a DVD (http://stat001.ameba.jp/user_images/66/09/10014659564_s.jpg) - --Hydao (talk) 01:36, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Map Screenshot
Can you tell me the procedure to add amp screenshot? I want to add a map image in Garfa article as there is already one in Dharmatala article. --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 05:29, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Barnstar
I hope this barnstar will not be deleted. I read that one needs to get permission before creating barnstar. But, on the other hand, when you are going to give someone barnstar, Wikipedia gives you option to create your own. So, I am little bit confused. I have mainly used Wikipedia's common barnstar's template, but I needed to change some codes for this barnstar. Here is the file of animated message. --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 09:05, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the article
Hi, thanks so much for the note. My name is pretty complex so I'm impressed you could find a way to deal with it, since even I sometimes have to scramble to get the right characters. Looking forward to seeing it develop! -- Fuzheado | Talk 23:39, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- Ha, I won't get involved with the deletion debate, and will go by whatever the community decides. Thanks for letting me know! :) -- Fuzheado | Talk 17:15, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

I maybe could, but I'm no longer in California (I haven't updated my user page in a long time), and didn't take many pictures while I was there. KarlM (talk) 18:25, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
[edit] British English
I just noticed a spelling "correction" on History of Rome changing from UK spelling to American. As it turns out, you did start the article. Some of us have been deferring to UK English for European articles. We have dibs on most Western Hemisphere stuff (except British possessions, & Canada). I'll defer to you. right now at least one American spelling is there! Probably ought to be tagged "American" though. Student7 (talk) 19:42, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
