Distance Education

Thank you 4twenty42o for giving to me an opportunity to share my view point. The article talks about growth in distance education. Somehow it missed references to the Indian scenario, where it has made tremendous growth and contributions over the last 50 years.... As a distance educator with over three decades of experience, without hiding my true identity, I am trying link a compilation first of its kind in the Indian context for `further readings'. I understand that my enthusiasm to share, of my own , the `chronology of growth of distance education in India' (where it has just completed 50 yr) with larger group has been seen as a self-advertising activity. ..Well so far I have been an active user of wiki.. and now I want to contribute... You have given me some valuable links.. Western North Carolina

Sorry for not explaining why I removed that information from the Western North Carolina page. I did so because, as someone with a fair amount on knowledge on east coast/Appalachian geography, I knew that it was factually incorrect. No part of the Tennessee Valley (which is itself a part of the Great Appalachian Valley) lies within the bounds of NC. It is entirely in Tennessee. The Tennessee Valley Authority does cover a small amount of Western NC and the "Tennessee Valley" moniker in general is used to an extent in those far western counties, but only due to sheer proximity and regionalism. Just a quick look at Google Maps satellite imagery makes it clear that the valley is completely geographically west of North Carolina. Those extreme western extents are part of the Great Smoky Mountains (which are a subset of the Blue Ridge Mountains). While this information was incorrect, what remained in the geography section (which is still severely lacking) seemed sound to me. If you have any questions, please ask away. Sorry for any confusion. page. It tells me that you have amended it back, although I am new to Wikipedia so not sure if I'm looking at the right revision. Can you let me know if this is right and if so are we talking about the same Jimmy (Notts County player, died 2 March this year) because this one was definitely born on 26 March 1931. I made a cake for his 80th!
