May 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Lake (CTA station) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Prometheus (2012 film). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

 • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
 • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:57, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Takeshi Kitano[edit]

Another editor has reverted your edit, essentially for the same reason I did: it is not properly sourced subjective opinion. On your suggestion, I have looked up the Screen article and added it as a citation (if you are unfamiliar with how to do citations on Wikipedia, please consult WP:CITE). I noticed, however, that the article--if it is the one you refer to (which was not clear, given that your reference was ambiguous and thus problematic)--says nothing about comparisons with the Godfather. If you have a citation for that opinion, you must cite it. Otherwise, it must be removed. Michitaro (talk) 00:44, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Takeshi Kitano, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 00:09, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

August 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Kellita Smith may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • ]

FYI[edit]

Just thought I'd let you know that edits like this one that you made to Sara Jean Underwood's article aren't necessary. Everything was working fine before your edit, so you're essentially wasting your time. Dismas|(talk) 18:32, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

September 2013[edit]

 • Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sam Waterston, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in you being blocked from editing.
 • If an editor requests that a fact be cited, it is incorrect to remove the request unless the cite is unnecessary, present, or the fact is removed.
 • Changing the start of his "Active" range to 1965 from 1964 is unlikely to be correct, based on the timeline of his activity in the article. In fact, 1962 might technically be more accurate, depending on whether workshops are included. In any case, a cite is necessary.
 • Also, you changed Birth date and age to birth date and age, which is incorrect. Page names begin with a capital letter, though using a lower-case letter also works. It is incorrect to deliberately change it from upper to lower-case except when necessary to match MOS capitalization rules in text (without using a pipe link):
 • For example, it is correct to change "please hand me my Headphones" to "please hand me my headphones" because it should not be capitalized when rendered. However, if it was already rendered in lower-case via a piped link, the change is discouraged unless making other more-important edits at the same time: "please hand me my headphones" need not be changed by itself, even though ...headphones... is the preferred coding.
 • Such cases almost never occur with template names. The only one I can think of is As of where it renders differently from as of.
 • It is also unnecessary to change from lower-case to upper-case (i.e. birth date to Birth date), though not incorrect as long as other, more important, changes are being made at the same time (i.e. before hitting save). Even still, such changes are said to be unnecessary and are discouraged. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 23:54, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
 • At this revision of Francis Peay, you removed the |mf=y parameter from his Birth date template. While this has no actual affect currently (because the default is currently month first), it does not mean it will always be that way. It is useful to document specifically which format should be used, and the parameter should not be removed. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 00:32, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
 • At this revision of Chow Yun-fat, you changed the start of his Years active to 1976 from 1974. His filmography shows a TV series in 1974, making this change incorrect. Please stop making changes like this. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 01:01, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
 • At this edit to Jesse Quin, you unnecessarily moved the |df=y parameter position from first to fourth position. It's a named parameter – position makes no difference (the template parser processes the named params first, and then numbers the remaining (un-named) params).
 • At this edit to Mark Rydell, you changed his year of birth to 1929, which is incorrect according to the majority of sources. I cited two published books. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 07:03, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

October 2013[edit]

 • At this edit to Richard Farnsworth, you removed leading zeros from the date parameters to Birth date and age, which is unnecessary. Some people like them because they resemble the ISO 8601 format when padded like that. You also changed a year range from 1937–99 to 1937–1999, which is incorrect according to WP:YEAR bullet 3, which says to trim the century from the second date of a yyyy–yyyy range if both centuries are the same.
 • In a series of edits to Robert Redford ending here, you incorrectly uncapitalized Birth date and age, unnecessarily removed 0-padding from its parameters, and incorrectly changed the start of his years_active to 1960 from 1959. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 20:03, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
