Show preview[edit]

Hello, thank you for your edits to Harlan Ellison. Your copy edits and corrections are much appreciated. However, rather than saving each of your attempts, it's much better to make liberal use of the "Show preview" button, which allows you to see the results of your edit before you hit the "save page" button. That way, all of those edits which have essentially the same purpose don't clog up the edit history. Hope this has been helpful, and happy editing! Sbacle (talk) 12:09, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

The person you added doesn't seem to have a Wikipedia page.

If the page exists, check that you've spelled and capitalized the name the same way as the article, and try again. If it doesn't yet exist, read this page carefully before creating it. Speedy deletion - PROD - AfD[edit]

When one thinks an article should be deleted, there is a succession of more-lengthy processes to accomplish that. 1st is wp:speedy delete. If that is declined, one may attempt a wp:PROD. Finally, an wp:AfD may be pursued.

In the case of the "Medical Corps" article, the 1st 2 have already been tried, and if the article needs to be deleted, it will have to be through the AfD process.

I hope that helps. - sinneed (talk) 17:35, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Removal of PROD from Medical Corps (Medical Organization)[edit]

Hello 140.139.35.250, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Medical Corps (Medical Organization) has been removed. It was removed by Sinneed with the following edit summary '(Please see the edit history, or note that the talk page has an {{oldprodfull}} explaining about the PROD. AfD is the next step.)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Sinneed before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Thank you, SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:07, 10 September 2009 (UTC) (Learn how to opt out of these messages)

If you decide to pursue AfD, unless someone comes up with a convincing argument, I expect to give "Weak Delete" as my recommendation. No need to discuss further, IMO. I won't AfD it myself, though.- sinneed (talk) 21:16, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but I highly recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. Could you please provide rationale? Tommy2010 14:31, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Easy: "Colonial Williamsburg" is a phrase repeated numerous times in the article. CW is indicated early in the article as the abbreviation to be used subsequently, which saves space... This should be done more consistently... 140.139.35.250 (talk) 14:34, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't need to be everywhere though. It may be confusing to readers and is also colloquial jargon. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Tommy2010 14:38, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a short time for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. My reason: I did not start the reverting. My case was a reasonable, good-faith one. Others (2 editors) are actually more responsible for the "edit war". Just because I'm an anon doesn't mean I don't have the stronger case ...

Decline reason:

Nope, if you were mixing it up with them with reverts, you are indeed edit-warring. Also take note that unblock requests pointing fingers at others are routinely rejected. —Jeremy (v^_^v Dittobori) 15:00, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Request reason:

Another reason: The edit war (whoever was responsible) resulted from original good faith, constructive edits being repeatedly reverted without attempts at discussion except by the editor who was eventually blocked. The value of the disputed edits & the (unsuccessful, rebuffed) attempts by the blocked editor to begin a constructive dialog should count for something...

It does; you're being treated exactly the same as I would be were I to engage in edit warring. --jpgordon::==( o ) 15:24, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Information.svg Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Más y Menos. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. William Avery (talk) 19:25, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 01:05, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Fluffernutter. I noticed that you recently removed some content from United States Army Medical Materiel Agency, with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 17:01, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Juan Rodríguez may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Revert at Olaf Stapledon[edit]

I don't think he can be called a Marxist [1]. While there is nothing wrong with being a Marxist, there are several points where Stapledon's philosophy disagrees with Marx's. You can read Stapledon's philosophical essays at http://olafstapledonarchive.webs.com/ and judge for yourself. Stilgar27 (talk) 10:58, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

I've reverted your edit & added a ref; see my comment there. 140.139.35.250 (talk) 15:12, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
Nice to see you are a constructive editor. Nice to learn that Stapledon was indeed a Marxist like myself and not only some sort of petit-bourgeois utopian socialist. Stilgar27 (talk) 16:29, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Borges[edit]

Could you please add a reference for your diagram of Borges' ancestry? Thanks Span (talk) 21:26, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Recent edits to Yersinia pestis[edit]

Information.svg Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to the Yersinia pestis article. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Thank you! Mendelssohn[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Felix Mendelssohn. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. It is unnecessary to disrupt the article because it does not refer to the subject's grandmother. Thanks --Smerus (talk) 09:39, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

July 2014[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Atheism: A Rough History of Disbelief has been reverted.
Your edit here to Atheism: A Rough History of Disbelief was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft2SypNRvUk) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page.
