List of longest running U.S. cable television series[edit]

I think I'm about 36 hours away from turning User:B.Wind/TV list sandbox into List of longest running U.S. cable television series as I had a particularly fruitful editing session last night. Any feedback you have will be most appreciated (please feel free to edit - the list probably needs a fresh perspective from someone without dyslexia). If it all looks good to everybody, I'll trim the comments and move the rest on Tuesday (November 15) or Wednesday (November 16). B.Wind 11:34, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Karen Hayes (24 tv show) didn't resign her position as Secretary of Homeland[edit]

She is not the Secretary of Homeland Security! She is the National Security Advisor! So if next time you want to change something on the page, please confirm the info before doing so. Chris 04:02, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

...The head of CTU doesn't answer to the National Security Advisor - he/she answers to the Secretary of Homeland Security (before Day 5, Secretary of Defense). If your assertion were true, Karen would not have been in a position to fire Bill Buchanan. 147.70.242.40 01:29, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

March 2008[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Interstate 75. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Using a different IP to do your reverts does not put you above the 3RR rule -- KelleyCook (talk) 21:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Ms. Cook, I use only this one as all of the Miami-Dade College IPs are fixed connections. I also propose by your edit comments that you have not only violated 3RR but are also refusing to A) assume good faith; B) even consider dispute resolution yourself (by blowing off a reasonable compromise by Polaron); C) attempting to intimidate me by the above post (note that I am not the only person on any of the eight Miami Dade College's campus who can edit Wikipedia - MDC has a student body of 165,000 according to an announcement by the MDC president yesterday); D) responded to a post by another MDC editor with both a racist comment as well as a declaration of your unwillingness to follow Wikipedia protocols including a declaration that you would assume bad faith; E) claimed a consensus where there never was one (see the article's talk page). If your sincerity were genuine, you would have already helped Polaron in settling the dispute (instead of shooting him down) and possibly have even improved the article by providing long-needed references. But no, you'd rather attack someone who disagrees with you. Very interesting indeed. Oh, by the way, removing valid cited references can (and often does) fall under WP:VANDAL - and the above tag that you posted as a threat is just as valid for you as you deem it for me. 147.70.242.40 (talk) 22:11, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Ah well. Respect your elders (on wikipedia of course =] ). I was actually looking through Twinkle for a more 'please create an account' template, but alas, it's not that specific. I first noticed your address on a deletion debate, and I thought I must investigate because it's not common to find an IP address editing in that part of Wikipedia. Then I noticed that the address is part of a campus, so I thought - what's the point of getting a good editor mixed up with those trying to vandalize. So I said welcome to wikipedia. I thought at the time that it could of been more specific. So I found this one and I like it. Nice to meet you.

Welcome (sort of/not really)[edit]

Hello! I've noticed that you have edited Wikipedia without logging in to an account. It's great that you've been contributing; however, I urge you to create an account. Here are some of the benefits of having an account:

There are no cons to signing up for an account. In fact, you can find even more pros at the "why create an account" page! Signing up is completely free and you don't need to enter any personal information! Plus you can have a user page, which you can use to show your interests, style, or nearly whatever! So, unless you can think of a con, please sign up for an account right now!Olly150 20:40, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Mass redirects[edit]

Would you mind commenting here? Thanks. Rossami (talk) 23:49, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

By the way, I merged in a large number of the pre-existing RfD discussions where I had been the only person to comment (other than the nominator). You probably have the second largest number of existing discussions where you were the only one to comment. I did not want to presume and merge those discussions in but if you want to do so, it might make the eventual cleanup and closure easier. Rossami (talk) 19:39, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
I have no objections. I'll see about merging those in ASAP. 147.70.242.40, temporarily at 147.70.242.41 (talk) 20:54, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
You already got all but a couple - as an IP I didn't want to step on anybody's toes by following your lead and closing them down, but I did add the odd couple to the list... and set up another header for those that I've found over the last hour or so. 147.70.242.40, temporarily at 147.70.242.41 (talk) 23:18, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Not a bot, just a not too old editor. I've reverted it back to your version. I've seen you do a few of these Dabs with only one blue link - I do the same myself when I find them. Thanks for giving an edit summary - it helps sort the real editors from the vandals. But do consider a named account - it tends to show (although it shouldn't) a more serious user to some editors.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:04, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Actually I have an account... It's just when I'm editing from work, the computer I use rejects cookies; so I wind up doing it the "old-fashioned way." And, yep, when I'm bored, I drop by WP:RfD and the short page patrol. Thanks for the followup. 147.70.242.54 (talk) 22:09, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Redirecting[edit]

Mercury nominated albums are notable. Be some use to this project and expand them! There is little chance of anyone expanding anything if you keep trying to redirect everything. What a fantastic contribution to this project - a big ugly template!  Francium12  21:02, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

  • Add a little information and a citation or two so they can stand alone. If they cannot support WP:RS and WP:N (demonstrating the notability with citations from reliable sources), you'll have a hard time keeping even the redirects. Try another couple of sentences to show how each of these songs attract coverage from independent sources. If the article is smaller than the template, chances are that the article shouldn't be here. 147.70.242.54 (talk) 23:33, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Template:$[edit]

As you had participated in the original RfD for Template:$, you may be interested to know that the deletion has been overturned at deletion review because of a procedural problem, with the redirect being re-listed here.--Tikiwont (talk) 14:08, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

RAM[edit]

If you are firmly convinced that RAM must be redirected to the disambiguation page, then I hope you will take the time to fix the one thousand or so other articles that have had links to RAM added to them over the past three years while that link redirected to Random access memory; all of them now need to be corrected. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 10:56, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Wait[edit]

Just before you propose to delete all the pages, if you want me to improve them, I will! Please stop, since they are in essence useful--Theologiae (talk) 20:07, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

  • Right now they're nothing more than malformed redirects. Your own talk page has shown that similar "articles" have been deleted. You might wish to check WP:LIST and WP:SAL for guidance. After seeing the articles listed in Special:ShortPages I prodded them to encourage improvements into something that the community as a whole would wish to keep. Not simply removing the tag would suffice - a "list" of only one item (or even two items) is not a list. 147.70.242.54 (talk) 02:13, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

I posted about five of those that I found in your contribution list - only those with one entry.
