November 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dougweller. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Carib people without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Please stop removing this material - our concept of a reliable source is explained at WP:RS. If you have a source that meets these criteria (in this case an academic source) that disagrees, you can add it, but continuing to blank this isn't acceptable. You can of course go to WP:RSN and argue that it doesn't meet our criteria, but I don't think you will get very far. Dougweller (talk) 15:42, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

December 2013[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Michael Moore, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 17:32, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Michael Moore shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Bbb23 (talk) 17:52, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

  • This is your last chance. If you have a reliable source that says that Farenheit 911 is not the highest grossing film, you need to cite it. Changing the article to say otherwise and removing the source that says it is constitutes vandalism given the history of your edits. Nor does the source in Michael Jackson's This Is It support the material in that article or your opinion. I'm going to revert you one more time. I strongly suggest you leave the article alone; otherwise, you risk a block.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:58, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
I don't know what to tell you, other than This is it is a documentary and it grossed more. 2.102.187.14 (talk) 17:59, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
Show me a reliable source that says that.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:05, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
Apparently mojo has This Is It under the genre concert film. Wikipedia regards concert films as a type of documentary - [1] (in the documentary category); [2] (says its a type of documentary); [3] (lists This Is It). So we have a contradiction. Do we follow mojo in saying a concert film is not a documentary and change these three articles and others? 2.102.187.14 (talk) 18:29, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
We follow what the source says, and do not allow original research in articles. The source says top-grossing documentary film. If you have a different reliable source which says it is not, please present it for discussion. Otherwise, continuing to insert content contrary to references is disruptive. Seraphimblade Talk to me 18:53, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
That means we should follow the source in saying that a concert film is not a documentary. Are you going to follow the source and change those others articles? 2.102.187.14 (talk) 19:08, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits to Michael Moore has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Fahrenheit 9/11. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Bbb23 (talk) 17:43, 8 December 2013 (UTC)

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
