Edit summaries[edit]

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe the changes you have made)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. Please provide a full edit summary and not just a vague clue as to what you have changed especially as you seem to change more than what your summary suggests. 86.149.79.140 (talk) 12:44, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Non breaking spaces[edit]

Would you kindly stop replacing the non breaking spaces (shown as "[ampersand]nbsp;") between numbers and their respective units as you are habitually doing at Power Factor. These are essential to prevent the units from being shown on the line following the number. The space that you are inserting in its place is causing searching problems because not every platform can easily enter it into a search field (which is why the "[ampersand]nbsp;" substitution exists). Please also do not substitute "[ampersand]ndash;" with unsearchable characters for the same reason. Thank you. 86.149.79.140 (talk) 13:09, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

You are continuing to cause mayem by replacing hyphens with the 'n' dash. Please use the [ampersand]ndash; as explained above which appears '–'. You are leaving behind text that cannot be searched for by the majority of users. 86.149.79.140 (talk) 11:24, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Warning icon Please decist from changing ordinary hyphens to a hard 'n' dash. Your recent change has been reverted and will continue to be so. Regardless of how typographically correct you believe it to be, (as has already been stated TWICE above by someone else) you are making it impossible for users to search for the text you have altered as few keyboards (if any) feature an 'n' dash. Also, users searching are most probably not expecting such a character. That this notice has been placed here, you are automatically deemed to be aware of its content the very next time you make any edit. Thank you. 31.52.11.70 (talk) 17:10, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
In view of your continued attempts to prevent users from searching for text within Wikipedia, it has been decided to treat all such future attempts as vandalism. Accordingly:
Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Dornier Do 335, you may be blocked from editing. 31.52.11.70 (talk) 12:11, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for your contributions at Saab JAS 39 Gripen. You should consider editing under a registered username. Cheers, --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 08:06, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

I think his editing is construed as vandalism look at what he did to articles such as Euromaidan and 2014 Hrushevskoho Street riots among others which are listed on his talkpage. I suggest a block.--Mishae (talk) 00:44, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Bulverism has been reverted.
Your edit here to Bulverism was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://dangerousidea.blogspot.com/2006/03/bulverism-and-afr.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 11:26, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, please ignore this notice.

Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at Supermarine Spitfire. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. This article is rated as GA - meaning that its format has been tested and accepted, including the format of its citation and notes etc: Please do not interfere with the approved format without giving very good reasons why it should be changed and seeking consensus for your proposed changes. You have already been asked to stop changing the format on this and related articles several times; please do not continue.
