December 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Chicago hold-up has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\byoutube\.com' (link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP7zCgDHrPM) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image or a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. This isn't an April Fools Joke... You have been blocked from editing with a 24 hour length in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for vandalism. . Please stop. You're welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires.

--Bobak (talk) 21:39, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Could you point out the warnings recent to 1 April 2009 which were provided to this IP address prior to being blocked? Otherwise, I'd suggest the block was arbitrary and improper.  X  S  G  00:20, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
If an IP account has a history of vandalism like this one did, the previous warnings allow the blocking administrator room to make a call on an immediate block. As soon as you start seeing this sort of worthless nonsense, in conjunction with the previous vandalism (and later vandalism), then the action is completely warranted. So your logic and reasoning are not particularly compelling. Sorry. Perhaps the folks at google have better things to do than vandalize Wikipedia? They do have that "knol" project, right? --Bobak (talk) 15:58, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
BTW, you worked for Google, so excuse me if I'm a little curious as to your motivation. --Bobak (talk) 22:43, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Back over at Ridders' method, you corrected the use of the possessive. However, while you are technically correct, the Wikipedia Manual of Style states that the initial usage is one of the three correct usages, and that above all it should be consistent in an article. Since the article itself is named as "Ridders'", I've gone ahead and reverted your edit, although I appreciate your efforts to help improve Wikipedia. If you have any other grammatical questions, the Manual of Style should answer any questions you have, and feel free to contact me for any reason. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to West Edmonton Mall. Your submission at Articles for creation[edit]

Citaton-needed-vertical.svg

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Yossi Matias. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat chanel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Big Light do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.
Your edit here to Big Light was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFIHm4eCnyw) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Big Light with this edit. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.Calabe1992 19:14, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Big Light. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
