June 2007[edit]

Information.svg In a recent edit to the page Paris, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, just ask anyone on Wikipedia and they will help you. Thank you. Dali-Llama 15:51, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Button sig2.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 19:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Your edits to Chicago Spire[edit]

Before reverting edits, please take a look at the edit summaries. I've explained there already why your edits have been reverted. But I'll explain below for you:

You are reintroducing the following into the Chicago Spire article: "...to become theWestern Hemisphere's tallest..." and removing "as well as Toronto's CN Tower, to become North America's". Please stop inserting this into the article unless you have a reference stating that this is so. If you do have a reference, add it to the end of the sentence. Otherwise you are adding in info with a pre-existing ref tag that doesn't include this new information.

Thanks, Chupper 23:31, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

I wasn't finished doing what I was doing. The text was not being removed, it was being move to a more appropriate place in the article. Writing about Macau being the number one gambling economy does not belong in the history of Las Vegas section. It belongs in the economy section.

July 2009[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. I reverted your edit to University of Chicago because I felt it was giving undue weight to an institution's rankings in the lead. The University is not known for its rankings: it's known for it's academic accomplishments, students, faculty, and alumni. Although these may be reflected in the rankings, it is better to just describe the school and its accomplishments rather than prop up the school's prestige, as per WP:PEACOCK and WP:WEASEL. If you still disagree, please discuss it on the talk page rather than adding your statement back. Thanks — DroEsperanto (talk) 20:31, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
