Category & sub-categories[edit]

Hello 13. I don't know how to describe or fix this problem, but Category:Afghanistan-Iraq War Memorials has category & subcategory problems. That is, it is both a sub-category and parent category. (Click on the triangles & you'll see.) Can you fix? Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 16:14, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

S. Rich, Sorry, but I don't (haven't) done this. Creating categories is something I leave to my betters. The problems you correctly describe are beyond my knowledge. I've posted notice of the creation of the category in a couple of places, and I imagine someone with more knowledge will sort it out. 7&6=thirteen () 16:21, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
I saw the change at Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial & the notice you posted. I think I'll try to fix. I believe the problem exists because Category:AF=IZ has parent categories listed. – S. Rich (talk) 16:36, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Edit summaries[edit]

Probably not helpful to just copy-and-paste your contribution to an article into the edit summary, it's flooding my watchlist right now and doesn't help anyone work out what you've edited or why, as this info is available in the article history. Good work on the Dickin stuff mind you. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:50, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

OK. Sorry. I'm done. What would you suggest? And I'm not being sarcastic! This just happened that there was a lot of overlap here, and it isn't in an area that I normally frequent. 7&6=thirteen () 18:54, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
No, fair enough, it just happens that I created most of the Dickin Medal recipient articles so my watchlist is flooded! If it was me, I'd just say something like "expanding and referencing" or similar. I appreciate what you're doing in any case! The Rambling Man (talk) 18:57, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
OK. I've always tried to be factual.
As I said, you and I just happened to have an overlap due to a coincidental shared interest. I thought these articles all needed work. I only did the dogs, but I think its true of the other articles. Haven't looked at the cat, horses and pigeons. But I'm more than glad to not take those on, and will leave it up to your good offices. I'm supposed to be doing real life work anyway right now. 7&6=thirteen () 19:04, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
When I see your name in an edit summary, by and large I just ignore it. I know your edits are going to be an improvement, so there is nothing to see here — move along. 7&6=thirteen () 19:07, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
All I'm asking is not to copy-and-paste your edit into the edit summary. That's completely unhelpful. Everything else is fab. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:02, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
OK. Cheers. 7&6=thirteen () 21:55, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

September 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Jancita Eagle Deer may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • attorney to revive the charges, as Janklow was a candidate for [[South Dakota Attorney General}state attorney general]]. Eagle Deer in 1974 had Janklow disbarred from practicing in the Rosebud

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 18:57, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

And vote support :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 22:15, 19 September 2014 (UTC) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:In_the_news/Candidates

Great, nice to 'meet' you :) Quite amazing what he has done. I'm sure Cancellara and Tony Martin will try. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 22:38, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
I find the comment that 2% is no big deal to be truly disconcerting. Studies show that over confidence in the correctness of an analysis increases with ignorance of the subject matter. I think we are seeing this in action here. 7&6=thirteen () 22:44, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Certainly a person who doesn't know jack about sports, much less cycling! I wonder when they'll decide about putting it on the front page or not... It's the first time an article I worked on may go there! Were you the one who added the 412 watts average? I'm trying to find a reference for it on Google, but I can't :/ Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 22:56, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Sorted, I replied to that 2% guy lol. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 23:19, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the refs my friend, I'll look at them for sure, but there is a lot of refs already :) I'm gonna put a ref for the Shut up legs citation lol. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 23:58, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Looks like it'll go on the front page very soon :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 20:06, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
No prob! And it IS on the frontpage now :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 20:58, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
First for me too! Well if you look at the History of the Jens Voigt article, I've been expanding it slowly, going back to 2011 :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 21:12, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
