I noticed that you revised the Kanthal article to add: "Kanthal wire forms a protective layer of aluminum oxide (alumina).  Aluminium oxide is an electrical insulator but has a relatively high thermal conductivity; special techniques may be required to make good electrical connections."
I'm particularly interested in some information or references about the "special techniques ... required to make good electrical connections."
