January 2009[edit]

Information.svg Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from PSR B1259-63. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. The problem I have here is with your removal of the starbox. While I won't try to dispute that some of the information in there is incorrect, it doesn't justify removal of the entire starbox. Either correct the incorrect information or remove that one fact from the starbox. Matt (talk) 09:00, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Mutsuhito[edit]

Information.pngThe recent edit you made to Talk:Mutsuhito constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Sceptre (talk) 04:58, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

I was archiving a talk page and user:Sceptre reverted me with a vandalism warning. I cannot explain that I forgot to comment, becuase his talk page is protected. I find this highly unsatisfactory. Further he did a rollback instead of a revert, since my previous edit to moving the text off was to add pertinent stuff to the talk page, so it should not have been a rollback. 76.66.198.171 (talk) 05:03, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
I think we should be more careful in future: I should pay more attention to the wikicode; and you should've created the archive first, and indicated you were archiving in the edit summary, instead of removing the text. Anyway: no harm, no foul. Sceptre (talk) 05:08, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, well, I usually do do that, but sometimes, I forget. I would have left a note on your talk page, if I could've. 76.66.198.171 (talk) 05:10, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Sorry about that; the actions of the few spoil the needs of the many. Sceptre (talk) 05:16, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Just for the future, many editors with a semi protected talk page will have a link leading to an unprotected subpage they watch, which you can edit. With Sceptre, it's at User talk:Sceptre/IP. Cheers, Amalthea 13:05, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

List of New Cutie Honey characters: removal of prod[edit]

You removed the proposed-deletion template at List of New Cutie Honey characters saying that it "covers more than suggested in PROD", which may be true (I never really suggested any specific scope for the article in the actual tag, but anyway...).

However, the purpose of the article was to fulfill a suggestion at peer review, to create "a foundation for a character list for the whole [Cutie Honey] franchise". The character list has not exceeded that scope, and as characters are (or will be) instead described in their respective articles (see e.g. New Cutie Honey#Characters and Cutie Honey The Live#Characters), List of New Cutie Honey characters is now redundant.

I will boldly make the list a redirect despite the prod-removal, and suggest merging any desired character info from an earlier edition (such as your revision) into each series article, but bear in mind the character-section size suggestions for New Cutie Honey (at the same peer review). --an odd name 06:42, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

A central list might be useful. But so is the navbox (now with 200% more Ryulong-applied color-formatting!), which links to every Cutie Honey article written yet (cool!). It'll be harder to find an individual character, yes, but (now that I think about it) it'll make the articles easier to maintain in general (i.e., no overly detailed information, make people think about the most important or encyclopedic traits to fit in those short sections, blah blah). I'll see if I can redirect more character names (like Aquamedusa of New Cutey) to relevant main ones for added ease; I've already made Honey Kisaragi and Dolmeck detour.
I don't care if it actually gets deleted (not like there's personal info to blank, or revisions that absolutely must be trashed). The redirect is even better than a prod, now that I see it: whoever really wants the old list (meh) can check its history. --an odd name 07:07, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

List of international ice hockey competitions featuring NHL players[edit]

You removed prod on the List of international ice hockey competitions featuring NHL players page, because it had lots of editors. I did not know that meant immunity to be deleted.

That said, why did you not comment further on the talk page? A comment on how to solve the issue with professional player vs NHL player focus on the article (which has led to frequent reverts in the past of that page, due to people adding Summit Series 1974 where WHL players were allowed) would have been appreciated.

The entire page has a problem with accuracy you could say - in theory, any game between a Canadian and American NHL team could be considered international (just as international as Victoria Cup and arguably as international as Summit Series or Super Series). By not deciding on wether games where NHL-players actually participated, or games where they were allowed, the inclusion of World Championships games get only done half way, making it seem like NHL-players didn't actually participate in those. (I'm sure there were some NHL players participating most of the last couple of years.)Lejman (talk) 09:49, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Lots of editors means that it shouldn't be PRODed, it should be brought to AfD. 76.66.198.171 (talk) 12:19, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Greetings[edit]

I've noticed your repeat appearances at CFD, which is quite unusual for an anon. IP editor. Seeing as nobody has given you an "official" welcome yet, here goes:

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. If you edit without a username, your IP address (76.66.198.171) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome! Cgingold (talk) 00:06, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

I concur with the suggestion that you should register an account. It's free and only takes a minute. You're one of the most active IP editors I've ever seen and the ability to create pages, have a watchlist, and make yourself more easily identifiable (not to mention the privacy benefit of not disclosing your IP) are all great reasons for you to register. Oren0 (talk) 04:01, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I've been editting as an IP user for 7 years now, when the ban on new article creation went into effect, I thought about getting an account. I still see no overwhelming benefit to having one. 76.66.198.171 (talk) 14:34, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Recent redirect requests[edit]

Your most recent redirect requests are to a disambiguation page. While it isn't against any rules to redirect to a disambiguation page, I just personally don't like to do it if I can point to a specific article. Were you intending to point to the disambig page or to a specific article?--Terrillja talk 06:35, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Suggestion for the Coldstone page[edit]

Since you made the notice suggesting that the Coldstone page be merged into the List Of Gargoyles Characters, I'd like to suggest an alternative merge which I posted recently:

  • If Coldstone is really deemed unimportant enough to keep his own page, I suggest that now would be a good time to merge the page with the Manhattan Clan page as the recently released trade shows that he now rejoined the clan.

Infact if anyone approves, I would be willing to tranfer the info on Coldstone to the aforementioned page. So give me a response on the my talkpage if, well you approve. Antiyonder (talk) 07:40, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
