KNVB Cup articles[edit]

When creating these articles, please make sure you have the correct links to the clubs. Your articles left redlinks to clubs like AZ and FC Twente because they were named incorrectly. You can see the correct names here. Thanks, пﮟოьεԻ 57 17:06, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Templates:Trofeo EFE[edit]

A tag has been placed on Templates:Trofeo EFE, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Information.svg Hello A18919! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,432 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Hugo Sánchez Portugal - Find sources: "Hugo Sánchez Portugal" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR · free images

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi. I have noticed you have removed lots of references to fb start and fb end from several articles with no explanation at all. This is obviously not a polite method to deal with things, even if you just wanted to improve such articles, considering that such particular template was developed and used for a reason, so I was forced to revert all those edits. I suggest you to please explain to the public the meaning behind your changes and try to find a consensus instead of making straight edits with no summary. Regards, --Angelo (talk) 13:48, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Hey man, thanks for posting the link to the discussion on Angelo's talk page. Saves me from having to do it, eh? :D – PeeJay 21:13, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

I had completely missed that discussion, and I had not found it through a search I made to the WP:FOOTY. My mistake, sorry. --Angelo (talk) 13:30, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Re: Link to the discussion[edit]

Yeah, it should be an amazing game! Bayern has a better head-to-head record against Manchester United, but who can forget the 1999 final, eh? :P – PeeJay 21:19, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

You're definitely right there! However, there's the small matter of playing against Liverpool on Sunday to overcome first. I think we'll win, but I have an enormous sense of foreboding about the game. Something bad is going to happen, I can feel it. – PeeJay 21:26, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Volleyball players[edit]

I have seen that you edited some volleyball articles. Some players articles, most of them looks outdated. I would like to improve players by country. Could you please choose a country to contribute with? Please take a look on Yekaterina Gamova, Hélia Souza, Serena Ortolani and Kenia Carcaces for a model to follow. Please can you please improve some volleyball players with infobox and some addons? References are very important. Let me know. Oscar987 22:43, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Wikipedia Reviewer.svg

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:13, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

re: Changes to Template:Southern Football League seasons[edit]

Hey. Saw you just edited Template:Southern Football League seasons to remove the rowed effect and I was wondering if this is because of a change to the manual of style, especially as I've seen other such season boxes edited in the same manner. Personally - no offence to yourself, obviously - I think the de-rowed style looks shockingly ugly and I have to admit that I've fought to keep it out of other templates I've created, and I will continue to do so. However, if I'm going to go up against opposition I at least want to know if I'm acting against WikiProject:Football or just against other peoples' opinions on style ;) Falastur2 Talk 15:38, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Saludos. --Raymond Cruise (talk) 11:45, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Template change to NCFC[edit]

Finnish League and Cup articles[edit]

Hi A18919. I am making contact with those Editors that take an active interest in Finnish football on English Wikipedia.

For a long time I have been happy to work on Finnish football on Wikipedia without making contact with other Finnish football enthusiasts - basically I like preparing articles / undertaking tasks that interest me and contact with others has not been important. However recently some of my work was changed by a Wikipedia Reviewer and this has led me to question what approach I should be following and indeed what approach would other Finnish football enthusiasts wish to adopt?

The current issue I face is the naming of Finnish Football League and Cup pages. I have adopted the approach that we should always be using the Finnish name in the title, for example 2007 Ykkönen and 2001 Veikkausliiga. However, I am aware that words like Mestaruussarja mean very little to most English speaking Wikipedia users. I therefore have included the English name in the title as well in recent pages, for example, 1936 Mestaruussarja – Finnish League Championship, 1938 Suomensarja – Finnish League Division 2 and 2000 Kakkonen – Finnish League Division 2. I thought that this approach might be a suitable naming convention until the Reviewer changed "2012 Suomen Cup - Finnish Cup" back to 2012 Finnish Cup.

The basic question I am asking is whether Finnish League and Cup articles should have a Finnish or English title or some form of hybrid?

I provide examples below:

Finnish Title English Title Hybrid Title
2012 Veikkausliiga 2012 Finnish Championship 2012 Finnish Veikkausliiga
2012 Kolmonen 2012 Finnish Division 3 2012 Finnish Kolmonen
2012 Suomen Cup 2012 Finnish Cup 2012 Finnish Suomen Cup
2012 Suomen Liigacup 2012 Finnish League Cup 2012 Finnish Liigacup
1938 Maakuntasarja 1938 Finnish Division 3 1938 Finnish Maakuntasarja
1954 Suomensarja 1954 Finnish Division 2 1954 Finnish Suomensarja
1970 II divisioona 1970 Finnish Division 2 1970 Finnish II divisioona
1986 III divisioona 1986 Finnish Division 3 1986 Finnish III divisioona
1997 Ykkönen 1997 Finnish Division 1 1997 Finnish Ykkönen

I have read Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) and Wikipedia:Article titles but have not reached a firm conclusion yet on the best way forward in establishing a consistent approach. The issue does matter with respect to the corrections I must make to existing pages and the tens of pages yet to be prepared. It could also carry implications for some of the articles that you currently contribute to.

I think that the matter would best be addressed on a proper basis and encourage that the issue is considered on the Talk Page of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Finland task force. If the matter is of concern to you as well, please add your name to the list of participants on the main page.

You may also wish to comment on the project structure that I have prepared.

Kind regards - (Finnish Gas (Finnish Gas 13:17, 23 February 2012 (UTC)).
