Abusive/uncivil coments by Bowsy[edit]

Excuse me, AKMask, I was pointing out that these votes seem to be based entirely on the article's content. It is clearly written that a DRV is about whether the AfD process was followed properly or not and I was pointing out that these votes seemed to be stacking because they did not mention the process at all. Bowsy (review me!) 08:01, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your Message[edit]

I didn't know where to post my comment because you didn't make it clear where I was supposed to. Where was I supposed to place it? Bowsy (review me!) 17:58, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

If you have concerns per WP:SPAM I'd suggest reporting it at WP:AN/I. As an involved admin I'm probably not the best person to be taking action here. Beyond that, I think I pretty adequately explained that statement at WP:CN. I don't speak from on high with 2 stone tablets in my hand; my opinions are just opinions and a this point the community is free to decide this one. I trust those he's sent this to are familiar enough with me to discount the implication that I have any power to unilaterally decide what editors can and cannot do here.--Isotope23 18:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, if it is the first clarification, he put it out there as justification, which is why I posted a clarification of my clarification... ugh. Regardless, I'm not concerned.--Isotope23 18:59, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IRC cloak request[edit]

I am Mask on freenode and I would like the cloak Wikipedia/AKMask. Thanks. --Mask? 21:31, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Anti-Impersonation measure[edit]

The nature of that measure was not to discourage transclusion, but to discourage intentional impersonation of myself per transclusion of my userpage.  ~Steptrip 00:45, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good point ... will be done momentarily.  ~Steptrip 00:55, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

emailing school[edit]

I agree most of the evidence points to that high school. But there was this one IP edit that led me to think it was Oregon State University. You might want to email them too, just in case. coelacan — 21:27, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And personally I would contact WP:OVERSIGHT if I were you, especially considering your past interactions with certain folk. coelacan — 21:40, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re:no policy[edit]

In my personal opinion, the safety of our editors should be the top priority within the Wikipedian community. Therefore, I feel that such a policy is needed for situations between the real world and the online community of WP. However, you do have some good points, and I would like to share your thoughts on this.--Ed ¿Cómo estás? 05:50, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please warn vandals after reverting their edits on Football. using TW[edit]

April 2007[edit]

Thank you for reverting vandalism to Wikipedia, which you did in Football. After you revert, I would recommend also warning the users whose edits you revert on their talk pages with an appropriate template or custom message. This will serve to direct new users towards the sandbox, educate them about Wikipedia, and a stern warning to a vandal may prevent him or her from vandalizing again. Thank you. Madman bum and angel 23:57, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Warnings[edit]

I can see how warning vandals might seem pointless and a tribute to editcountitis, but I feel, as do many other vandal-fighters, that it's important that an accurate history of a user's vandalism be kept on his talk page for future decisions concerning his access to Wikipedia. It is standard procedure to issue a warning, and I'd simply request that you consider it more seriously in the future. I'm glad to see you vandal-fighting; keep it up! Madman bum and angel 00:04, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey AKMask, since you were involved in the James Earl Salisbury AfD, I'm letting you known that after discussion with Mckaysalisbury I've restored the page to generate more discussion, and hopefully a clearer consensus. You may wish to comment on the talk page.--Cúchullain t/c 20:56, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:pnc nominated for deletion[edit]

See Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Template:pnc for the discussion, which will certainly spill over into larger issues. Your thoughts would be appreciated. --Kevin Murray 23:15, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not me[edit]

Sorry, but it is not me (I am not a professional writer of any kind), but neither my first not last name are that uncommon - if you google it up, you'll find at least half a dozen of persons other than me having exactly same first and last name as me ;-), and I guess neither is the initial. Happy editing. --Branislav Jovanovic 05:23, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My dear Alaskan! :)[edit]

There's a miracle called friendship
that dwells deep within our soul
tho we don't know how it happened
or when it began to roll.
But the happiness it brings me
always gives me a special lift
cause I know that our friendship
is my dearest, greatest gift.

My dear friend, someday you'll have to tell me how you manage
to draw a smile on my face whenever I read your beautiful words :)
Your userpage has moved me so much, I can't explain it to you in words.
I've missed you so much! :) We'll catch up asap, I promise!
Sorry about my lack of inspiration with that poem! It sucks, I know!

Love,

You are welcome to leave a comment on the following Request for Comment (RfC):

Talk:List of countries and outlying territories by area#Request for Comment: EU inclusion in the list of countries and outlying territories by area

Summary: There is a dispute about whether the European Union should be included in this list. Its area equals the sum of its member countries. We are discussing if it should be included in the list or not.

Thank you, --giandrea 16:26, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bad and Wrong[edit]

Ok, I'll take your word for it that Bad and Wrong is a keepable article, and I won't bother taking it to AfD. It's not a subject I know much about, myself. --Xyzzyplugh 03:56, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This whole Henchman/Bowsy thing[edit]

See my talk page. Let's just all try to stop with this sockpuppetry stuff, it's just stressful for all of us. — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 19:06, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:INTRO[edit]

I previously only knew about Wikipedia:Sandbox. The "anyone can edit" portion of "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit" on the front page links to Wikipedia:Introduction, which includes four tabbed pages, the first page having "What is Wikipedia?" I just read Template_talk:Please_leave_this_line_alone and it says WP:INTRO is one of the most vandalized pages in Wikipedia. In any event, I was mistaken in that I thought it was something that needed to be reported. A red-faced oops for me! -- Jreferee 23:05, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Google error[edit]

Just to clarify, following this edit, by error, I mean that they are giving a figure that is too low. The correct figure is now something like 7 million articles. I'm not in favour of waving big numbers around, but if Google are using a figure, it should be correct. Yes, I know 7 million is still "over 2 million", but I took your comment to mean that you thought I thought the figure should be lower, when I think it should be higher. Noot vir Noot[edit]

As far as copyright infringement goes. The middle paragraph is a direct translation of a paragraph on the web page you mentioned. The article as a whole does however differ from the content of that web page. --Renier Maritz 20:19, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, so that one pharagraph was the copyvio. I guess my Afrikaans was not good enough to catch that one. No need for oversight btw, just removing that section is good enough (unless the instructions on Wikipedia:Copyright problems need to be changed), since that section was already in there from the very first edit. Republican Moderate Party of Alaska[edit]

Here's the complete text of the article that was deleted (unwikied):

The Republican Moderate Party of Alaska is a political party in Alaska formed by Ray Metcalfe in 1986 as an alternative to what Metcalfe perceived to be a Republican Party dominated by the Religious Right. ==External links== *Official website party-stub

The title is not protected, so feel free to repost with sources. There's also a currently-broken redirect at Republican Moderate Party if you think that's a better title. Thanks, NawlinWiki 18:54, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE:User talk:Dcpimp[edit]

I tried to find the page, but the MediaWiki search engine returned no results for that page. Sorry for the unwarranted reversion, pgkbot listed the diff on #vandalism-en-wp, and I forgot to check the editor who blanked the page. ~ Magnus animum ∵  φ γ 20:36, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
