Welcome to Wikipedia, ARosend! I am SarekOfVulcan and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! Help with new article[edit]

Help!! I need help putting up a stub. can anyone help me?

ARosend (talk) 16:17, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the stub you're adding is the former content of your user page, I can just about guarantee you that it will be nominated for speedy deletion within a very short time. To keep this from happening, find sources independent of the company and add them to the article, either referencing particular points or in an "External links" section.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 17:48, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok....i wish i understood what you meant haha. And yes, the information that used to be on my userpage is what I am trying to put up. Why would it be deleted?

so update, I tried to make my article (on my userpage) more notable by listing publications and making external links...can someone look at it and give me some feedback? I would really appreciate it! thanks!

It would be deleted because of one of the primary policies of Wikipedia: Verifiability. Without external reliable sources, readers can't tell if the information in the article is accurate or not. Self-published sources, like a company's website, are only considered reliable for very limited information.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 22:10, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Same goes for press releases, such as those published by "Business Wire".--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 15:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thank you so much for your input. So if I put links to publications they have been in with stories and articles, you think I will be alright?

The best answer I can give you is, it depends. If the article is about them, yes: if the article mentions them in passing ("the president of AgileCat said that..."), no.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again for helping me out. I am finished with my "article" which is on my userpage...now how do I move it to live? ARosend (talk) 15:16, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably the easiest way is to search for AgileCat, and then click the "Create this page" link.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 01:24, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all of your help! I put up the page if you want to check it out. Its under AgileCat. Hopefully it wont get deleted! I tried to make it neutral and reliable. Thanks again! ARosend (talk)

A tag has been placed on AgileCat, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of AgileCat and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewHowse (talk) 19:36, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted[edit]

Sorry it got deleted. Try looking around at other company articles that have avoided deletion, and see what you can do to make it more like them -- particularly in the references, which is where I think you got dinged.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 20:27, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
