Adoption request[edit]

Hello there, Aacarrie! I'm Netalarm and I've been around on Wikipedia for quite some time now. It appears that you've indicated that you want to be adopted on your user page. While you can wait for an adopter to come forward and offer to adopt you, I would highly recommend that you also actively seek an adopter. From the cases I've seen, I've noticed that it is often much faster if the adoptee also actively participates in the matching process.

When choosing an adopter (click here for a list), there are a few things you'll want to check. First of all, you'll want to check if they are available. The column with the label "Adoption status" will tell you if they are able to accept more adoptees. You may also want to choose an adopter that has similar interests, which are indicated in the "Interests" column, though it is not required you do so. Once you have found an adopter you want, you may message them on their talk page and ask to be adopted. If you have any questions about this process (or about Wikipedia in general), feel free to message me on my talk page.

Once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Netalarmtalk 04:41, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Re: Adoption[edit]

Hello Aacarrie,

You previously expressed interest in being adopted; however, you have not provided correspondence to messages sent by the adoption program's members or have not indicated that you wish to stay on Wikipdia well after the adoption period is over. The Adoption program's adopters cater to the needs of adoptees, but cannot chase after potential adoptee's whose activity may be limited, due to the limited amount of adopters we have. Adoption is for those that want to stay, it is unfair for the adopters to have to teach to a user who will pack up their bags and leave after adoption or doing whatever it is they wanted to do.

Please understand our concern, but remember that if you do want to stay, you're more than welcome to join in the adoption program! Simply respond to this message indicating that you are active and I or another Adopter will get back to you shortly.

Re: Re: Adoption[edit]

Hello Fridae'sDoom,

I am an active user and am very interested in being adopted. Thank you. Aacarrie (talk) 14:03, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Glad you got back to Fridae'sDoom, Alex. I posted on his talk page to make sure he saw it. If you go into the Edit screen of this section, you'll see that I added a colon to the front of my response. This indents it once and is the typical way to reply. If you reply to this, you'd add two colons to indent it more, and the conversation will flow from there.
Sometimes you just reply back on their talk page (this separates the line of discussion, but some prefer it). At other times, when you reply on your own talk page (like this, using a colon), you add a template {{talkback}} on their talk page so that they know you responded on YOUR talk page. Confusing, I know. It's all about making sure they see your response, as many of the admins can't Watch every talk page they add to. Thanks so much for getting back to him. We'll be talking about ironing out this adopt-a-user thing next class. It was an experiment on my part, so I feel a need to fix all of the confusion :). HstryQT (talk) 14:54, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Hmm... mistaken tag on his part I believe. We were sending those message out to people that requested adoption back in September, October that had received messages, but didn't respond to them. Regarding your adoption request, I think there are some specifics that need to be worked out, as we don't really have that many resources, so it will take a long time before someone offers adoption. I'll be discussing them with HstryQT and others. Netalarmtalk 20:58, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Indiana Sculpture (Matthews).JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Indiana Sculpture (Matthews).JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:05, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

December 2010[edit]

Information.png Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to File:Statehouse Pics 021.JPG, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Freedom of panorama[edit]

I notice that you uploaded some images of sculptures under the fair-use doctrine as derivative works but it may well be that these sculptures are actually freely licenced by virtue of their age. You should probably review the commons freedom of panorama US entry more closely. You may also want to review the image, both yours and other, already added to List of public art at the Indiana Statehouse because non-free image are not permitted in list article per WP:NFLISTS. Such non-free images can usually be used in articles about the sculpture itself. There were also similar issues last year with the IUPUI art project but I cannot find the advise posts I made at that time which may help you. Drop me a {{talkback}} if you need to discuss this further. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 19:07, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

World's Fair Indiana work[edit]

I can't promise tons of research right up front, but I would be interested in collaborating with you on an article to talk about the three statues done at the world's fair. Either individual pages or one page about Indiana artwork at the fair. Let me know if you wanted to get started on that eventually. Emtrix (talk) 03:01, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
