Thanks for Welcome

Hi Adrian Thanks for the welcoming words and info. I went through several of those links before I started editing and will continue to review them. All the stuff on my talk page was confusing (edits?), but I did find your message. LOL As you can see on My Contributions, I am starting small - microscopic? Thanks for your message

Hey, thank you very much for your message and the links provided. I will definitely use {{cite pmid}} when I edit articles. I'm still a newbie but I'm eager to start learning!

Thank you

Thank you for the kind words and help dealing with Nalit. I am trying to back away from them a little so that maybe they can calm down. GB fan please review my editing 14:01, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Well this seems like the appropriate sub-section. Thanks for the welcoming cookies and information. Correjon (talk) 14:13, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Essentially, the issue is whether J1 dominates in Sudan and the Caucasus at over 60%. Any response will be welcome. John Lloyd Scharf 09:36, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

REDEX!

No problem. However, it's number-one or -two on a google search for "redundancy exercises" among 2 million hits crowded with industrial redundancy. "Redundancy exercises" thus might be a more intuitive search item for students. It's what I tell my clients (ahem ... who are academics and university researchers, not students!).

Oh for the day when I can reverse-engineer the use of "the" and "a" to create the web's first decent exercises on this for non-native speakers. Failed thus far, but that would be really useful for my clients. Tony (talk) 13:07, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

HIV diagram being discussed at dispute resolution

Hi Adrian, I thought you might be interested in the discussion currently taking place at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard#HIV discussion. Apparently DavoDavoDavo is still trying to get the HIV diagram deleted. I noticed you participated in discussions at the Talk:HIV page relating to this matter. MsBatfish (talk) 08:38, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your kind message on my Talk page :-) I guess I'm a fast learner and/or I've been spending WAY too much time on Wikipedia, lol. I try to do some research before I do things, which may take longer but I think it worth it. I'm not always able to find the pertinent guidelines, but I at least try to educate myself before doing or saying anything controversial. Thanks for noticing. The internet can be a strange place to interact with people sometimes. Some people don't seem to realize that Wikipedia articles are not supposed to reflect their personal feelings about things. Deleting broken links in reference sections

Thanks, Adrian, for the heads-up. Even after having been around here for a while, there's always new things to learn. modify 09:13, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited Vaginal flora, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Niche (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sticky vandalism.

Hi Adrian.

Hope you don’t mind me bothering you.

I don’t understand why vandalism on ‘Manhattan’ appears on the site but is not on the edit page. (At end of first paragraph: ‘I really have to pee.’) The History says ClueBot NG removed it 4 Feb 2012 at 20:15. It is now 5 Feb 2012 1:28. The vandalism is still there. Is there a time lag for bots?

I did an undo in the History but it had no effect on the actual site.

Very frustrating!

How should I handle something like this in future?

Thanks for your time.Zipzip50 (talk) 07:01, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Edit, 2:09 AM No sooner sent my note than the problem disappeared! I'm leaving this post in case you can tell me why it took so long for the bot's undo to kick in.Zipzip50 (talk) 07:14, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Whoops! You're way ahead of me. I finally saw your reply - that's what I call fast action! Thanks for the cleanup and the explanation. Next time I'll try the Help Desk.

Many thanks Zipzip50 (talk) 07:32, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

I may need your help. Yobol has undone my editing of shiatsu apparently for some personal reason of his. He doesn't seem to have given any reasons for it either. I have used EXACTLY the same article (http://cancerhelp.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/treatment/complementary-alternative/therapies/shiatsu) that is given in wikipedia as a source. I just felt that choosing just the part of the article that he personally likes, without mentioning the rest, was not impartial at all. Since he is obviously more articulate than me, let him add something that reflects "Some people with cancer use shiatsu to help control symptoms and side effects such as poor appetite, sleep problems, pain, and low mood. They say that it helps them to cope better with their cancer and its treatment. After a shiatsu treatment a lot of people say they feel very relaxed and have higher energy levels." and "This does not mean that shiatsu may not work in controlling symptoms or side effects, simply that it has not yet been tested properly." Since I don't think he is going to do it I need mediation - formal if possible - between him and me. I believe he is biased and opinionated Shiatsushi (talk) 17:53, 10 April 2012 (UTC)Shiatsushi (talk) 18:11, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Not really sure what to do here...

Hey Adrian, I'm discussing some edits that I made to the positive and negative feedback articles that another user reverted, but we're really not getting anywhere. I thought that you might be able to help. Could you take a look at my conversation with GilderMaven on my talk page?

Merge and Delete?

Hey Adrian, I stumbled upon an article the other day that someone had suggested be merged with another, so I merged the information form that article into two other relevant articles. I made sure that all the information from the old article ended up in at least one of the two others. Since all of its information is now in a more appropriate article, I thought that the old article should be deleted, so that if anyone has information to contribute to the subject, he'll only be able to insert it into one of the other two articles. So I proposed a deletion, but another user removed the suggestion, saying that it constituted a "merge and delete" (I think), which sounds like exactly what I suggested. I'm confused right now. What do you think we should do?

I merged the information from quantum efficiency of a solar cell into quantum efficiency and solar cell efficiency.

Thanks,

Rob Hurt (talk) 18:22, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Dispute resolution for the Tseng article?

Moved to maintain chronological ordering of posts. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 03:07, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Synergee keeps making unilateral reverts of the description of Tseng as controversial and doesn't seem to wish to discuss the matter. Are you interested in taking it to dispute resolution? Luitgard (talk) 18:37, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Please do not edit other editors' user pages without discussion (other than simple typos etc.) even in good faith. Not only is it impolite, it's a breach of policy. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:41, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Zion Wildlife Gardens logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Zion Wildlife Gardens logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 06:54, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:05, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
