Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Swordswoman of Huangjiaing.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Swordswoman of Huangjiaing.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:55, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Revert on My Mother the Car[edit]

The reason the revert was labeled vandalism is that the author of the edits is a banned user and the edits were done in defiance of an indefinite block. The editor is a persistent and frequent vandal, and to date has created over 35 sockpuppet accounts for the purpose of vandalism. His edits are now being reverted regardless of merit. Please examine the notice on his talk page and you'll see why the edit was reverted as vandalism. He has long since used up his assumption of good faith. dhett (talk contribs) 09:38, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Scanners (musical group)[edit]

Nuvola apps important yellow.svg

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Scanners (musical group), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for Image:Baolintemple.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Baolintemple.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 20:43, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:SapsareePuppy1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SapsareePuppy1.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 04:25, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Edit problem at Zevia[edit]

As you did on 30 October 2008, would you be so kind as to revert the Zevia page to your last edit? Since that time, the SPA using Wikipedia for an attack mission has edited again. This user has a history of and has been warned against improperly altering content (please see User_talk:Openthedoorfornow). I have placed a warning to this user regarding the Zevia activity on the Zevia talk page. Thank you very much. Seattle Michael (talk) 17:29, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello Adrigon. I agree that the concept had religious influences, but believe that it is too restictive to limit those influences to Christianity. Translation request[edit]

Greetings Adrigon, would you be so kind to help me create an article about Confucius in Chamorro Wikipedia? Please. It's about a Chinese philosopher and is listed as one of the articles every Wikipedia should have. If you think that article is too long, here is a short version: "Confucius was a Chinese thinker and social philosopher, whose teachings and philosophy have deeply influenced Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese thought and life. His philosophy emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity." I hope, you could help. Thanks a lot, and best regards:)--Amaqqut (talk) 13:36, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

LGBT politicians[edit]

Category:LGBT politicians is never applied directly to an individual person; it's only a container for more specific subcategories. If you have a validly sourced reason to switch Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir's category from "lesbian" to "bisexual", that would be okay; if you are aware of enough additional articles to create Category:LGBT politicians from Iceland instead, that would be okay too. But switching her from "lesbian" to "LGBT" isn't appropriate, because the "LGBT" parent category isn't supposed to have anybody directly in it at all. Bearcat (talk) 22:58, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Zevia[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Zevia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable product. Fails WP:N and WP:CORP. The references provided give only trivial mention to this product, failing WP:SIGCOV.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:22, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Georg Broe - The Rivals 1968.jpg[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Georg Broe - The Rivals 1968.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:48, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Georg Broe - The Rivals 1968.jpg[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

Thank you for uploading File:Georg Broe - The Rivals 1968.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Acather96 (talk) 07:56, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Xerxes (film)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Xerxes (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:NFF; Films that have not been confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced principal photography should not have their own articles.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:29, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Mein Weg auf die Laufstege der Welt von Irina Pantaeva.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Mein Weg auf die Laufstege der Welt von Irina Pantaeva.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 04:31, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Seoul City Sue Infobox[edit]

You recently removed the place and cause of death from the Seoul City Sue infobox with the note "these are unreferenced and aren't explained in the article". They were referred to in the "Later Life" section, and cited by footnote #51. If the citation seems insufficient, what is your objection? Cmholm (talk) 21:01, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

  • The reference says he "heard" she was "shot". The reference doesn't specify that she was actually executed by firing squad, but the infobox nevertheless proclaimed that she died in such a manner. And what it does say about her possible death was admittedly hearsay, rather than conclusive. Therefore, the cause of her death is inconclusive. Yet it was included in the infobox as though it were fact.
  • "North Korea" was apparently just an assumption, because the location given for her supposed killing was not specified.

Being from a book rather than a web source, the citation's details are not readily available for further investigation.Adrigon (talk) 23:51, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Chinese speaker needed for DR on Commons[edit]

Hi. I came to your page because I'm looking for a Chinese speaker who can help out with a deletion request on Commons. commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Penile curvature-TW.jpg is about several images a user uploaded of annotated penis diagrams, with a UNESCO logo in the bottom right. The user seems to want to try and correct their mistake, but they're not a native english speaker and are using google translate to speak to us, which isn't optimal. We were hoping a native Chinese speaker might be able to sort things out for us.

File permission problem with File:Latte stones 2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Latte stones 2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 16:23, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
