Online ambassador?

Hello, I am an instructor in the US Education Program, looking for an online ambassador. This semester I am teaching primarily Marine Engineering Technology majors at the California Maritime Academy. Students in my class will start by adding sources to Wikipedia articles on ships, shipwrecks, engineering disasters, and maritime history. After the midterm, they will select a stub or start article in those areas to develop for their final project. The course page will be complete and added to the USEP page next week. If you think you might be able to help us, I can send you more information about the class. Cheers! Michelev (talk) 06:31, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Beta Lambda Zeta page

I am requesting on behalf of Beta Lambda Zeta, as well as the Greek Life at Emory & Henry College, that you un-delete the article for Beta Lambda Zeta that you deleted on September 29th, 2010. I agree that the article was not maintained very well in the years before, but significant changes have taken place in the Greek system at E&H in which it is more important to have web presence on Wikipedia. There are several notable alumni from the fraternity that we feel would benefit from having their fraternal connections listed on their own pages. Thank you so much for understanding. 208.247.58.65 (talk) 15:12, 1 February 2012 (UTC) Zachary Hupp

Hi Zachary, I'm not convinced that this particular subject stands up to Wikipedia's notability standards, which is why it was nominated for deletion in the first place (and why I agreed to go ahead with deleting this page). Wikipedia does not serve as a web host to assure that institutions have sufficient web presence. Why is a web presence on Wikipedia important here? I do try to do a bit of research before considering the fate of an article; in this case, I did not find sufficient evidence to warrant the coverage of this fraternity on the encyclopedia. However, if you would like, I can restore the page to a namespace outside of the article space for you to work on; if you have an account, I can put the article under its name. This way, you can work on providing reliable, third party sources to adequately reference key information and demonstrate notability. I know this is a lot of stuff, so if you have questions, ask away. I'm not horribly active here, so it may take me a while to respond. If you want, you can email me. Cheers, Airplaneman 18:04, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Send your article in.

MSU Interview

Dear Airplaneman,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

 • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
 • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
 • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
 • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
 • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 06:10, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Byron Melcher passes

Hello,

I am a close relative of the organ player, Byron Melcher, and see the you were a contributer to the creation of his wikipedia page. He has passed away on the 16th of March at the age of 83. I am unclear as to your relation to him, but if you can help get the word out for anyone that would like to come pay respects, his memorial service is to be in Houston this Thursday and a VA burial in Dallas on Friday.

Retrieving deleted article

Hi! I created an article, but it was deleted before I could finish it. I was wondering if you could send me a copy (or something like that) so I can maybe re-use some wording when I recreate the page. The article was on Hannah Louise Mickleburgh. I'd just like a copy, please (is it called a userify version?). Thank you --Tropzax (talk) 18:44, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Hey Tropzax, you can find the page at User:Tropzax/Hannah Louise Mickleburgh. It's not quite ready; you'll need to cite plenty of reliable sources to establish her notability. I'm not that active on here nowadays; you just happened to catch me as I logged on! However, I'll try to help if I can. Cheers, Airplaneman 18:49, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Shift work

Re: 20 April revision of Shift work (comma splice):

“Here is a lesson in creative writing. First rule: Do not use semicolons. They are transvestite hermaphrodites representing absolutely nothing. All they do is show you've been to college.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country

OK - it's not creative writing, and semicolons have a more precise use in technical writing, but I think of this every time I'm tempted to use a semicolon. Regardless, I'm just glad someone read something that I wrote, even if to correct it. Have a nice day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krausentube (talkcontribs) 11:13, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Hey

Hey, why did you remove Georgian history template and the better maps that was embedded in Iberia (theme)? It's part of Georgian heritage you block the topic? Please, explain yourself and revert your edit back. GeorgianJorjadze (talk) 17:19, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I've simply restored the page to a version prior to the start of the content dispute which seems to be going on over the content of the page. This was in an attempt to provide a more or less neutral, or at least non-charged, basis for which you could base your discussion – it was a revision in which, hopefully, neither you nor any other of the editors can claim as the "right" revision. Airplaneman 17:25, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
Excuse me? Iberian theme is Georgian heritage and the Georgian history bar and the map of the Georgian possesions should be edited back. The edit war upon the content is over. Just edit back to the last edit as it was neutral. It just had the history bar and better map on the left. GeorgianJorjadze (talk) 17:28, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
I'm not convinced that the content dispute has gone anywhere. Just seven hours ago, there was an undo, in this case under your name. Along with the history bar and better map come drastic changes in the wording of the article, which I'm not going to touch until this is figured out. Airplaneman 17:48, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
Regarding your protecting of the Iberia (theme) article, please tell us how it is possible to discuss anything with an editor like GeorgianJorjadze. He deleted the article's talk page content: 1. He also deletes anything that anyone adds to his user page. Take a look at the revision history of his user page - have you ever seen anything like it? The deleted user page content seems to include multiple warnings and blocks from other editors - though unless we go through every individual blanking it it difficult to know how many and why they happened. Neutrality Help

Hello Aiplaneman, I am a recent user of Wikipedia, on which I have to say that I enjoy it more and more. I am trying to get some help concerning a Wiki page that is talking about the Company that I am working for in Macao, China - Reolian Public Transport Co..

This company is facing very strong critics on the web for many reason. I would like to give you a reference to a recent article that was published on a local newspaper, which was talking about this non-neutrality on the web - i believe this article is rather neutral:

I fully agree that some of the bus company difficulties or issues might be of interest on the page. It is a new company, it is a foreign company, it had a difficult start at the beginning, it had several accidents... There are many things to mention. However the current type of issues mentioned on the page are far from being relevants (a Bus running out of fuel for example is mentioned). I have tried to launch several talking section without much success.

I really need some help to get back to a more neutral environment here. There are 3 bus operators in Macao. Reolian is the only one facing this problem. I know that by working for this company, my neutrality can be questioned, however if you could just have a look and give me some feedback or your impressions on this, that would be already something.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Titours (talk) 08:44, 23 April 2012 (UTC)TitoursTitours (talk) 08:44, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello Titours; nice to meet you. I appreciate your concern over this matter, as it is indeed important. I'm very busy in real life these days and only edit here sporadically, so you may have to wait a few days for a response from me. I'll start with a few things for now. First off, if you have not already, please skim (or read – that's even better) Wikiepdia's guideline page on conflicts of interests. This should give you a good idea on how this site deals with that sort of thing. As for the article, I'd be happy to help you work on it, as it does need quite a lift. You can start by removing the green text from the article. That makes it look like an advertisement for the company. Wikipedia articles aren't about color schemes and other fancy bling that flaunt corporate themes. They are there to educate and inform – they lay out the facts. Speaking of facts, I'd also like to point out an important page outlining what is and what is not a reliable source. This should help you find sources that are useful. I do understand your reason for balancing out the article a bit in regards to its criticism. It is, of course, unseemly to dedicate a disproportionate amount of the article to that topic. This page talks about the basics of point of view on Wikipedia. That's all for now; hopefully I haven't overloaded you. The learning curve can be a bit steep. I know because I was once new myself! The first article I made was so poor that it was hastily deleted. I'll try to get to some more stuff within the next few days as well as take another, closer look at the article. And of course, you can ask any editor about this, not just me. Cheers, Airplaneman 04:35, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Airplaneman for your quick reply and thank for looking at the page. Following what you have pointed out, I have cleaned the green text and read the different articles concerning the reliable source, This page and the guideline page on conflicts of interests. The problem of this page is not only the disproportion and quality of the "accident" part but also the different comments that have been integrated everywhere which objective is not really to inform:

 • " Their Customer Hotline number is (853) 2877 7888 but it is the only customers hotline which do not provide services on Sunday and holidays" - the "but" and "only" are orienting this information on negative aspect. The page is full of this.

My objective is really to get something neutral, with a minimum of quality concerning its content, and which follows the normal type of information of a page referring to bus operator - I have never seen any other bus public transport operator, at least on the English Wikipedia, mentioning any accidents. I am not really sure what I should be doing here, I am ready to discuss but it seems endless. I have a worse case scenario with the related Chinese page - the page is quite something - if you have time and with google translator you might figure out the type of content, however I do not have much time at this stage to launch a talk/debate on this page - and I have also to admit that my Chinese Skill is limited.

I understand that you are busy and I will also contact other editors for comments. I thank you in advance for any help here and for the one you already provided.

Titours —Preceding undated comment added 10:34, 25 April 2012 (UTC).

 • I've gone ahead and removed the phone number you talked about; that would be blatant advertising. As I mentioned earlier, Wikipedia intends to be an encyclopedia and is not an organization's personal website; therefore, information such as this is inappropriate. The list of bus routes is also trivial; it adds little to no additional information about the company besides serving as, again, a sort of website for the company. A paragraph talking about routes and scheduling may be more fitting. As you mentioned, the major/minor accidents and incidents section is totally unnecessary. I suggest cutting down the whole giant list of the accidents and mentioning only a few major incidents, those that are newsworthy. I may try to make a few simple edits, and you can look in the page's history and see what I've done. Airplaneman 14:17, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello Airplaneman, I completely agree with all changes mentioned above.

 • Only major accidents - I have to admit that I would prefer no accident as it is the case for other bus companies. How would you defined a major accident? I have put my point of view on the talk page.
 • The scheduling needs to be consolidated and easy to read - This part has been previously integrated on this page, I did not want to change other editor's work on this (probably made by local bus fan associations). I will try to think about a better way of presenting this part, 1 table might do.
 • I will also modified the fleet part concerning a line that is mentioned (H1)- I could integrate partially this information on the Routes' part.

I have also looked at your changes, all fine for me - I am quite embarrassed for some spelling mistakes (i clearly need to do something about this). Titours —Preceding undated comment added 03:51, 26 April 2012 (UTC).

I have updated the fleet part and the Route part. I have used a similar shape than the one used for List of bus routes in London in order to be purely informative.Titours

The improvements are definitely helping. Don't worry about language – you learn as you go. I certainly have! Please take a look at my analysis on the talk page about the accidents section. It needs major cutting down. Talk:Reolian_Public_Transport_Co.#A_closer_look. I could have done it myself, but I made this post so others could see my reasoning and maybe comment or change a few things. What do you think? Feel free to go ahead with the changes; that section reads like a news report and really needs to either be axed or overhauled, as it has no place in a Wikipedia article.
Looking into the future, this article could do with a bit more content with the help of a more diverse range of third-party sources. Maybe one day it would look more like this: Chicago Transit Authority. Of course, this company is in its infancy and therefore there is not as much information on it, but it's a goal. The formatting of the page would be a nice thing to follow.
Oh, and when you sign your username on discussion pages, use four tildes, not three. Like this: ~~~~. Best, Airplaneman 06:22, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Chicago's example would be nice - it will need a bit of time & development, and some wikipedia skills. Thanks for your comment here. I will wait several days to see if there are any comments on this and I will probably axed it. Thanks for the signature advice. Titours (talk) 15:00, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello Airplaneman, I would like to give you an update here. I have axed the accident part sending at the same time my reason to the editor that was previously feeding this part. I would like to thank you for your help here and your explanation on Wikipedia. I have learned something here. Titours (talk) 01:51, 4 May 2012 (UTC)Titours

Hello again

Dear Airplaneman,

You welcomed me to Wikipedia two years ago now - hard to believe all that time's gone by.... Anyways, first, I hope you're doing well, and life is good for you. Between one thing and another, I've not been able to contribute as often as I'd like, but I am now starting to find and see things I'd like to add in, in addition to ongoing adding of citations. One of the things I've found really hard to do is to figure out how to add pictures. I did it once - but it was so long ago.... Could you please point me to something that explains this, s-i-m-p-l-y? I dash it out like that because it seems rather complex. Last time I tried to upload an image to wikicommons (that was free to share), I don't know what happened but it was baaaaaad...... (No additional image on that page now.)

Otherwise, that's about it.

Many thanks Airplaneman! Cheers, Ashokapurr — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashokapurr (talkcontribs) 23:14, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello Ashokapurr,
It's great to hear from you again! I've been busy as well and my time on Wikipedia has dropped drastically. However, I can't say that it is a bad thing because we only have so much time in our lives – we should do what is best for us and others in the time we have. Sometimes, contributing to Wikipedia isn't on the top of our priorities list.
Onto the pictures: I have found them a pain to manage as well. This is because Wikipedia only hosts free files – that is, content that is not protected by copyright (if you have a minute, take a look at Wikipedia:Copyright). This means that we must have safeguards in place to combat copyright and this can add a lot of extra steps in the process to those wanting to contribute images. Now, since two years ago, people have worked hard to try to simplify the horrendously difficult file upload process. Go to Wikipedia:Upload to get started. However, you will notice that the upload form provided is for files. Ideally, as you mentioned, you want to go the the wikimedia commons to upload images, so you should head to the blue template below the upload form link on Wikipedia:Upload and use the "Commons Wizard" option. This does require you to be logged onto the commons. This should bring you here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard
Once you're there, there are directions to follow; I find this greatly improved since the last time I took a look, which is awesome news. From this page, you should be able to upload pretty easily. If you're having some trouble uploading the page, ask and I'll try to explain in some more detail.
So once you have the image up, you can put it onto a Wikipedia page using the following syntax:

See The Manual of Style about Files and Help:Files for more information.
I'm going to use File:Southwest Canyon Blue.jpg from the commons as an example to show you what it should turn out to be:
I enjoy airplanes
Here is the code I used:

One thing: when you post on discussion pages around here, use four successive ~ (like ~~~~) to generate your signature. That way we know who's talking.
Happy editing, Airplaneman 05:46, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

many thanks Airplaneman!

Dear Airplaneman,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!! That's really kind of you. Believe me, I very much understand what you say here about how precious our time is and how limited.... I'm very glad to hear that you are doing well.

Thank you so much for all the information and the help. Fortunately, I do understand copyright from work, but what was mystifying was the whole wikicommons process - just wow.... So many steps, and it seemed that the file I uploaded according to the producer, was public domain, but I did hear back from wikicommons that in fact, it was the wrong kind of license - i.e., as you'll know, there were some limits on usage. Anyways....I'll get back to this one day soon, but I'm sure it'll be easier with what you've sent to me....

Finally, I did try to upload a public domain image here of a cake for you - I still remember you welcoming me to Wikipedia with that fantastic picture of cookies!!! I'm so sorry that after receiving a notice that what I was about to upload in fact was classified spam by wikipedia, I kinda gave up...for now.... (I hope you're laughing - I am!) Anyways, when I finally figure it all out, I will send you some cake. Thank you again, Airplaneman. And thanks for the reminder about the signature.

All the best and take care, --AshokaPurr 22:36, 27 April 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashokapurr (talkcontribs)

The site has sections like Endorsements. I don't know who but I saw a admin who removed sections like that and said that wouldn't be welcome in the wikipedia rules or something like that? and the members section need to be fixed too since they have their own pages why do we need to mention their b-day etc. on the group page again? just a few things but I won't remove it again if you think it's still a good article?!

77.184.238.81 (talk) 16:52, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

As I explained, the article needs to be re-reviewed before its status may be changed. I know it's arbitrary, but until then it's recognized as a good article. Also, as you can see in the page's history, many people are working on cleaning up the article. Airplaneman 17:26, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Trans Australia Airlines Flight 454

Hi,

My name is Greg and my user name is Aviator66, an article I spent a bit of time on getting accurate has been deleted, (Trans Australia Airlines Flight 454) again by another gentleman. Just wondering if you could help in recovering my hard work? The article was: Trans Australia Airlines Flight 454

I intervied the pilot of the DC9 before he died and have his first hand account which I have refered to as well as newspaper clippings of the time. I'm not sure why the Gentleman who deleted my page didn't believe it was true but thats ok, I do have a copy of the newspaper clipings etc and there is an ATSB report as well. Can you help me retrieve my page? please email me if you can and I picked you because you look aeroplane friendly, I'm an amateur aviation historian who has interviewed many famous Australian pilots on video.

Many thanks

I am the editor who nominated Flight 454 in January and then brought the second version of the article to the attention of Wikiipedia administrators.

While this user may be able to get you a copy of the article, the article was deleted as a result of Article for Deletion debate. Then you recreated it, since it was AFD one time it is automatically deleted again. BTW, even if your article survived a deletion debate, anything from your interview of the pilot would have been deleted per WP:OR....William 13:21, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Holiday or leaving wikipedia?

Hi Airplaneman,

How've you been? Very well I hope. I've had some challenges of late, not least on 2.

If at any point in the next few days/weeks, you have a few minutes, I'd really appreciate your thoughts. I've posted a request for independent arbitration if that exists, on wikipedia, for this external link. The link to a map I added to several wikis has been repeatedly deleted and now is no longer on wikipedia at all.

I await the outcome of someone/people independent of the deleters - all of whom seem to know each other - to speak to the issues I've repeatedly raised that none of the them directly addresses: the map is filled with attributions to reliable sources and was linked to several wikis because it was relevant. Indeed it contains links to wikis as well, actually. I for one have certainly seen information included on wikipedia far more poorly referenced than this map.

I had a question: is there another process that I should take to get this resolved by someone/people independent of what is clearly a group? Even if the decision isn't reversed, for me it's the principle: there are dimensions to what I've argued that none of them has addressed. I would very much appreciate any suggestions you'd have.

Secondly, some of the user talk around this has been awful, and I am debating whether to continue to contribute to wikipedia at all, and if so how, notwithstanding the great joy it would give all of them if I left.

All this aside Airplaneman, I wanted to say to you, you were so welcoming when I first came to wikipedia, and I wanted to thank you for that. I learned a lot here. I've heard interviews about how wikipedia is trying to be welcoming to women, and you were. Unfortunately, there's a lot of people still here who aren't.

Take care, Airplaneman.

All the best, --AshokaPurr 23:22, 7 June 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashokapurr (talkcontribs)

Hello AshokaPurr, I'm just dropping by to let you know I've seen this. If I get some time, I'll try and see what I can do. Sorry about the delay, Airplaneman 05:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Well, I've taken to doing some research, as I wound up not going to sleep (it's 2 AM for heaven's sake... but I'm not in the mood for sleep just yet) and it does indeed seem like the link does not belong on all of the articles on which it was put. As per the reasons given by users familiar with the subject, the link is not directly relevant on some of the pages you put it on – yes, it is relevant, but not directly. The external link policies are in place to help curtail the possibility of links overloading a Wikipedia article – they make it so that only extremely relevant links can find a home at the foot of a page. Otherwise, the ends of many articles would turn into quite a sizable aggregation of links that are helpful but unnecessary, in that they indeed enrich one's knowledge of the subject of the page, but may not be the most pertinent. This brings us back to what is directly or indirectly related to the subject. An unfortunate side-effect of this policy is that many links that could be helpful are disallowed on articles so that articles don't eventually become an aggregation of links. Hopefully this helps explain why people have been removing the link.
As I look through the discussions had about the link in question, I understand why you felt ganged up on. Put simply, nobody agreed with you. However, I find it surprising and confusing that you gave the reason that you were disagreed with to be that you were a woman and they were not (them being presumably male). From the multiple discussion threads I have looked at, none of them specifically uses the fact that you are a woman to justify the removal of the link. Quite frankly, I had no idea that you were a woman until you told me. I doubt any of the others involved in the discussions knew, either. MarnetteD apparently didn't, as he said that himself. Furthermore, it looks like the people who discussed this issue with you were a "gang" because they enjoy working on film articles; it is therefore completely natural to find the same people over and over again working on similar subject matter. I highly doubt anyone would go to lengths to stalk you over a link. If I have overlooked some sort of hostility aimed at you, please let me know.
I do understand that there is much information on Wikipedia that needs attention more urgently than the map. However, that does not justify it being placed in an article if it does not belong there (as per the reasons in the first paragraph, which echo those pointed out in the discussions had about the map/link). If you'd like a third opinion, the noticeboard Wikipedia:Third Opinion is the way to go. You may get another fresh set of eyes from there. I also understand what you mean about the discussion around here being awful; when people communicate in text only, their body language is lost in the process. That can make Wikipedia discussion pages feel especially caustic. Although people may not mean for their words to come out in a certain way, it is up to the reader to interpret what has been written. However, I really do not see how it would be a great joy to anybody if a willing contributor would leave the encyclopedia. I surely didn't see that sort of hostility in any of the discussions I came across regarding the map. If I'm feeling frustrated about editing, however, I do really enjoy a break. It helps immensely, and you come back a bit later with a fresh perspective on things.
It is heartwarming to know that my help has, well, helped someone. That's the reason why I contribute to this place; in the end, Wikipedia is a place in which people help others. That's it, really. Airplaneman 06:39, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Neutrality Help, again

Hello Airplaneman,

Sorry to bother you again with this page. Reolian Public Transport Co. page is being filled again with negative contents. These contents are being spread all along the page. I have corrected them as much as I can with limited success, as there are being added back to the page. Could you please advise me what would be the next step here? Do you have any further advice.

Thanks in advance for taking some time in answering me,

Best Regards

Edit wars are always irksome to deal with. They arise when people have two different and conflicting opinions. In this case, it looks like a matter of what "facts" should be included in the article, and what makes the cut as "encyclopedic". It is clear that the person undoing your changes has not viewed or refuses to recognize the posts on the article's talk page, which is quite ironic given the fact that they implored you to discuss changes while undoing the edits. I see you've tried talking to them; that's the clearest first step. If it continues and gets out of hand, locking of the article to promote discussion and hopefully a resolution may be necessary. But yes, discussion is key to resolving conflicts; it looks like you're on the right track. Airplaneman 06:02, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Hello Airplaneman, thanks again for your answer here. It is going to take some time to get to a normal situation here. I have got a question concerning the locking of an article, is it done automatically? How long is a page usually locked - is it until the resolution of the conflict? I will in any case further communicate with this person in the coming days. I will if you don't mind further updates you on the outcomes. Best regards. Titours (talk) 11:25, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Hello Airplaneman. Concerning the Reolian Public Transport Co. page, the discussion is not going very far at this stage, it is more a monologue type of discussion. I am afraid that the page might be locked if the do / undo continues. Could you please once more provide some help here.
I also have a non directly related question: I have tried to look at the relationship between a Facebook page and a Wikipedia page and I still don't have a clear understanding about the link. Some Facebook page contents are based on Wikipedia's. How does it work? Is the Facebook page created automatically as soon as a Wikipedia's page is created ? If not, how do you link a Facebook page to Wikipedia's?
By the way, I hope your holidays were good. Rgds Titours (talk) 04:22, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia Help Survey

Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

Thank you for your time,

Deleted wikipedia list: List of personalities associated with Wall Street

Hello,

The list "List of personalities associated with Wall Street" i.e. "List of people associated with Wall Street" has been deleted at some time. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_personalities_associated_with_Wall_Street Today I was trying to read through the list again, but it was deleted and I don't know why (copyright violations??? inappropriate???)? I'd like to ask you if you could provide me with a copy of that article (preferrably a pdf-file) and send it to my e-mail: erik.austria@gmail.com? I would be glad if you could and would greatly appreciate that. Kind regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.117.119.173 (talk) 10:31, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
The article name you listed was deleted per WP:G8 – it was a redirect to List of people associated with Wall Street, which is probably the article you were looking for. It was deleted because it was a recreation of an article earlier deleted after consensus was reached at an Articles for deletion discussion, which can be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of people associated with Wall Street. You may find a copy of it in your email. Airplaneman 12:13, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Hey Airplaneman, I see you've been involved in a clean-up job on this article--if you don't mind, can you look at it again? One of the involved parties left me a note on my talk page which I'll copy to the article talk page. I am loath to go in and edit the article myself since I just full-protected it, but the editor has a point (their very first comment pertains to information in the article that is, in my opinion, not reliable sourced, for instance). Thanks in advance, Drmies (talk) 03:54, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I will definitely take a look. Admittedly, I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked on the article, so taking a second look should help. Thanks for the note, Airplaneman 05:17, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Hello Airplaneman, My point of view concerning the different modifications that I would make to the page is mentioned within the talk page (added by Drmies) . I would like also to add one more correction not mentioned there: the color of the table concerning the bus fleet - It went back to green and yellow, instead of grey. This is probably a result of all the do / undo that have been going on this page. If you have time, could you please have a look at my comments. Many thanks in advance for your help. Best Regards.
