Crash (song[edit]

Crash (song was never deleted as the result of a discussion. It was deleted with a quoted CSD#R3 rationale, but one that was obviously bogus. G4 is thus inapplicable. WilyD 09:54, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

new HamletHub page[edit]

We were blocked by you, due to a couple of reasons, one being that we created the page with a "promotional account" named HamletHub, and also because we did not edit the page for a while. [[1]]

I would like to recreate the page with a different username. I will have someone else create the page so it is not at all promotional. HamletHub was recently cited by two notable sources: Columbia Journalism Review and Street Fight Magazine

I wanted to check with you before I created the article to make sure it was ok

Ken KenDJr (talk) 12:59, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Promotional? Yes. COI? Yes. Also usernames cannot be shared accounts. "Because we did not edit the page for a while"? No. There is no such requirement. You do not need to check with me. If the article and the subject meet the Golden Rule, then it should be ok. Do read the Plain and Simple Conflict of Interest page to see what other issues you may have. -- Alexf(talk) 16:46, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi there! Looks like you blocked a guy while citing as reason Template:Uw-softerblock. Yet there is no such template? Palosirkka (talk) 06:12, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Nick Autry[edit]

Hi Alexf. I'm working to make sure all of the noteworthy people of the recording industry have facts available. One of the names I'm trying to provide information on is singer/songwriter and recording engineer Nick Autry. It seems there was a page with his name that has been deleted some time ago. There may be more names in the future as I'm working alphabetical order. Thanks!

No idea. I am currently out of town working under suboptimal conditions. Please ask at the Tea House or at AN. -- Alexf(talk) 16:48, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Phaistonian (talk) 11:50, 11 April 2014 (UTC) Regarding deletion on[edit]

I do understand why page looked as candidate for deletion.

Thing is, I tried to write it as objectively as I could since this has happened again in the past.

Yes, I am affiliated with the company, but that's not a reason for the page to be deleted, if I am correct.

I would really appreciate if you would let me know what parts of this items need to change (or be removed) in order to have the article published.

Thank you.

ps: There are so many companies and services like ours, some are way younger and way "smaller" than ours that do have a wikipedia item.

Aw man. It would be nice if you added a link to the page as requested. Something like would have been helpful, especially as you see in the top of this page I have limited web access, so searching through thousands of deletions to find it is not easy. I did the search for you and found the article was deleted because it did not assertnotability. Specifically it did not meet the Golden Rule. What little "sources" it had were to YouTube and to the Google WebStore. Hardly independent and reliable sources. The article also was a sales pitch for phaistosnetworks. As for the other couple of issues, you mention other websites which are not relevant to the discussion. If you think other pages you refer to are also not notable, please nominate them for deletion, or ask in their talk page. Lastly you do have a conflict of interest. That was not the reason the page was deleted as already stated but it is a concern. Please read the Plain and Simple Conflict of Interest page to see the implications. -- Alexf(talk) 14:28, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Any objections to unblocking Canary Beck, based on the explination and promise made in the unblock request there? Kuru (talk) 01:13, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Idin Samimi Mofakham[edit]

Hi! Thank you for dealing with the speedy deletion of Idin Samimi Mofakham as G11/G12. As the colour of the link will have told you, it's back with us. As far as I can recall it's closely similar to the previous version, and similarly copied/ close-paraphrased from [2]. Can I ask you to deal with it again (perhaps with some salt?), or should I tag it again and let things take their course? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:13, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Mova Nanova recreated[edit]

Mova Nanova, a page you once deleted, has been recreated. You may want to investigate if it has been expanded sufficiently. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:59, 20 April 2014 (UTC) First of all, the Mova Nanova initiative gains its due notability by the fact that it reflects an important aspect of the cultural life of the present day Belarus touching upon the vulnerable issue of the language situation in the country. • Given that the initiative is voluntary and has gained traction among people of different background, then spread to almost all regional centres, still on a voluntary basis, and is acclaimed and supported by notable cultural personalities and famous people, it demonstrates the shift in the attitude of common people towards the Belarusian language, which image has long been “disfigured”. In this case the article has its value for the English-speaking readers by giving the information on the cultural and linguistic sides of Belarusian life, and at the same time demonstrating the social topicality of the issue. • The article represents the translation of the Belarusian version of Wikipedia and supplements the scarce information about Belarus in its English version, helping the English-speaking readership give a more clear view of the country and explaining some of the questions like “Why isn’t Belarusian the language that you can hear on the streets while in Belarus?” and “What is the situation like these days?”, and etc. • For a long time the Belarusian language has been unjustly considered to be the language of peasants and the illiterate, even in the not too distant 90s of the XXth century. This page demonstrates the issues that the Belarusian-speaking minority (and those aspiring to become Belarusian-speaking) is confronted with, and how these issues are tackled with in the present day context, which is again the reflection of the Belarusian cultural aspects. This point is referenced by the figures of the latest census and UNESCO statistics. • The page also arises the problem of the linguistic disproportion of Russian and Belarusian in the bilingual environment on the territory of Belarus (de jure) that has long held true, at certain historical points going to extremes with adverse anti-Belarusian propaganda and targeted governmental actions aimed at its elimination. The page offers the information for further familiarization with by linking to the page about the Belarusian language. • Finally, the information on this page is backed by the references from independent nation-wide online sources of information and news portals (TUT.BY, Belsat TV, The limited quantity of such references can be explained by the fact that usually negative events are given higher priority on the newsworthy scale and get more media coverage, whereas cultural events are given a smaller share of press attention in flagship publications, and are often reprinted from the leading information sources by other minor news organizations. (Moreover, please, give due attention to the fact that the page deals with the de facto linguistic minority, which reduces the press coverage of this activity even more, which doesn’t lessen its notability though). --Умецкі Максім (talk) 17:11, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Martyn Andrews[edit]

Hello can you please undelete Martyn Andrews page

I can put more references and proof if you need. I had it on Wikipedia for years and I am a well known tv host and journalist. Was there for 4 years.

I am also keen for it not to look like promotion while at the same time showing all the work I've done like others in the same industry.

Best wishes and thank you for your time.

Grabyo page[edit]

I recently created the page Grabyo which you deleted before I had a chance to add references. I work across the media and broadcasting industry and have been following the company for some time. I thought a page on Wikipedia was warranted given the extensive coverage it has received from noteworthy sources such as The Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, TechCrunch, The Next Web etc. I would be grateful if you could verify this via a quick web search and permit me to create a fresh page with references, for other wikipedia users to contribute to.

Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vcwatcher (talkcontribs) 11:15, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

The article had no references at all to assert notability. If you do not yet have enough information to pass the Golden Rule then you should work it off line or in a sandbox, not post it to mainspace where, as you saw, it cannot stay and will not last long. Before you do a lot of work on this, make sure you read, and understand, the notability requirements for web content. Please remember to sign your pages with four tildes. -- Alexf(talk) 12:02, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Nazca Lines[edit]

Hi Alex, thanks for the note and totally fine you deleted the link.

But calling it 'inappropriate' and treating me like a two-year old who can't read and is somehow trying to violate some policy is completely rude, insulting and inappropriate.

I have over 10 years freelancing, tech work, travel writing, website development and understood the requirements - and that the links are 'nofollow'.

The link I added was good information about what was mentioned in the article, about how to see the lines up close... it was an appropriate link, I happen to be one of the first persons - the first I believe - to write about that option for viewing the lines (more detailed on old South America Living site) after my son and I traveled through there.

I won't post anymore, happy to get some photos up to share as I've used Wiki photos in projects, but am not going to offer any more of my time.

Think twice before you so rudely accuse someone of an action, most professionals will not tolerate it.

Take care, Molly MollyMcHugh (talk) 14:21, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Molly. Please don't take it the wrong way. It is nothing personal but a matter of policy. Having to process hundreds of issues a day, we have to rely on other editors and on template messages to help reduce the workload, and to send a consistent message. Maybe the templated message was not the best, we may agree. I did not remove or undid your action in the Nazca Lines article. Some other editor did. I just notified you about it. We are concerned when conflicts of interest arise. Your link said: by Molly McHugh. That was it and it should not be included by you in an article. -- Alexf(talk) 15:03, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of Trick gaming studios[edit]

Hi Alex,

Thanks for contributing to making Wikipedia a better place for all us users.

I understand that's your objective, and that's why you deleted my recently created page for Trick gaming studios.

Although I understand the reasons, I still don't think Trick should be deleted.

My reasoning is that the page is relevant for different reasons:

- There are other pages about video game companies (Nintendo, Blizzard, Square Enix, and much more)

- There are other pages about Argentinean companies (Globant, Hexacta, and much more)

- Trick produces and owns it's own IPs so it's providing new artistic content and creativity.

- Trick runs the Argentinean chapter of IGDA and is relevant to the community by hosting free workshops and sessions about gaming (specially in Argentina).

- Ultimately, I think Wikipedia isn't complete unless a user can find the content that he is interested in finding. I personally use Wikipedia to learn about other video game companies (no matter how big or small) and I think other users do the same.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this far. If there's some content that needs to be fixed or changed, please let me know. It wasn't clear in the deletion if that was the case, it only stated that the page wasn't relevant.

Regards, Leandro

Leandro6758 (talk) 17:27, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Leandro, even though I understand your reasoning I need to tell you why it does not work here as it does not match with Wikipedia's rules.
Lets see:
Having other pages is entirely irrelevant to an article on this business.
The reason if was deleted as explained by the nominating editor and also in the deletion summary was for lack of assertion of notability. The article had no reliable sources. Just a link to their own website and a couple to Facebook. In short, it was removed because it failed to meet the minimums (see the Golden Rule for more on this). -- Alexf(talk) 18:09, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks Alex, so maybe I can add more references to sources that mention the company? If that's all that's needed then it's something easy, I would need it restored (as sandbox perhaps?) so I can add those further references. --Leandro6758 (talk) 18:35, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello there!

I think so many people are sending you haiku's because the page previous (or page that led me here) directly states that you will almost always comply with a request if it is written in haiku form?! Which I almost did :) glad I kept reading.

Anywho, you deleted my page (link above)! I realize why and I have read your guidelines and have tried to edit it to make it seem less promotional - I am definitely open to any further suggestions as well - but what can I do now for you to reconsider my page? I really would like to get it published soon and am willing to rewrite it completely or whatever else may help my case.

Please let me know, thanks!

Chelsea Crzappel (talk) 17:30, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

The article was completely promotional as you know by now, even to the point of giving address, local phone and office hours! May I remind your this is an encyclopedia not Facebook or the Yellow Pages? Besides the promotional aspect, even if it was re-written in a neutral tone, the article stated this is a new company started this year. The article did not provide much in the form of references and reliable sources to assert notability, specifically under WP:WEB. Unless that can be provided, it wont stay. -- Alexf(talk) 18:38, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

No, the page was deleted for not asserting notability for publication in the encyclopedia. We only have notable subjects. Comparing to other pages like the one you indicated, is meaningless. Even then, note that particular page is well sourced. Please do not post entire contents of articles to someone's talk page. -- Alexf(talk) 15:30, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I had contributed an article on Ravi Ravindra. It is my first contribution and I would like to learn why it was deleted. The reference to the copyright infringement in your note is a reference to a bookseller who is selling one of Ravindra's books. What can I do to ensure that the article is accepted. Where will I find the answer to this message? Can you put it on my user page? Thank you. Priscillamurray (talk) 01:16, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

You cannot take text freely from the web. Most text in websites is copyrighted. Unless it clearly says it is in the public domain or under a share-alike license you should not use it. You can paraphrase but not copy, and you should credit the author. See Wikipedia:Copyright violations for more details. For help with your questions and many others please ask at the Teahouse. -- Alexf(talk) 09:21, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Dear Alex. I did not use any text from the web. I am the author of all the material in the article except for one two line quote from a book by Ravindra, which is credited. Priscillamurray (talk) 10:00, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

I re-read the piece. It seems to me it has too many verbatim paragraphs from the book listing at Exotic India which clearly states: "All rights reserved. Copyright 2014 © Exotic India". Please read the Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright page then take it to the Copyright Board where they are more versed in the issue and can answer your questions. -- Alexf(talk) 11:45, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Dear Alex...This is amazing...nearly amusing!! Exotic India has taken the paragraphs from the book Yoga and the Teaching of Krishna. I am the editor and wrote the paragraphs about the biography about Ravindra and the introduction which they have taken and now they are claiming to that they have the copyright of this material!!!! So shall I rewrite?. Thank you for your quick responses. PriscillamurrayPriscillamurray (talk) 22:26, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Late responding but as you see up top, I am busy at work with no time lately. Yes, you should then re-write. If you have an issue with them claiming copyright, then talk to them. -- Alexf(talk) 11:28, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Your improper speedy deletion of Taham has been reverted. You obviously failed to look through the article's history to find where the article on a notable subject had been wholly replaced by what you thought was an A7 target. You need to be more careful when using your tools. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 18:33, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

@Carlossuarez46 Maybe so, but the article clearly said: "for the village in Iran see Taham, Iran" and had an Infobox musical artist for an NN musician of the same name which is the one that was deleted. Now you have two articles Taham and Taham, Iran. -- Alexf(talk) 21:04, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
And they've now be disambiguated. Where, pray tell, does having a possibly ambiguous title give you a right to delete something?? What the article clearly says may be entirely irrelevant, if you look in the history. If someone replaced the article earth with info on his band and a hatline "for the planet see terra", and someone else tagged it as a speedy delete; would you go ahead and delete it? "It clearly says...." You fail to understand that misuse of your admin tools is a serious matter. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 21:16, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

User Page Deletion[edit]

Dear Mr. Alexf

This is Fatima Fakih.

I would like to inquire about a page i have created about someone who is not a politician, not a president nor someone famous. He is a well known person in business area in Africa region. I wanted to create a page about him so that people can see his page on your reputable website, Wikipedia.

This is a red link for the page as you sir requested: Fouad chaaban

Please note that I have contacted Mr. Mathew Dann a month ago about this page but unfortunately the page was deleted although i did not neither use any wrong wording nor stating the "I" pronouns since i am talking about a person.

I would really appreciate your reply Sir and would be delighted if you helped me with solving this issue.

Regards, Fatima Fakih (talk) 12:27, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

The page you linked to, which I had deleted, was a redirect from mainspace to user space. That's is not acceptable. You can work on a sandbox off of your user page if you want, then when an article is ready for prime time, you can move it to mainspace or better yet, request it to be checked and moved at AfC. Moving to a non-existent user (userspace) is not valid and will lead to removal. About the person you mention and "I" pronouns, I have no idea what you are talking about. Margarita, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place for promotion of you services. Maybe you have us confused with Facebook? We only cover notable subjects. For a web business, the rules are covered in Wikipedia:Notability (web) and for companies at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). If you have been in business for a while, and have been the subject of articles in mainstream media, or won international awards, and have independent, verifiable, reliable sources to assert it, then by all means. If the business as you say "will be launched on May 29, 2014" then don't you think it is a little too early to be recognized and be notable? ALso, you are stating you are the PR Manager for this company. Please read the guidelines on conflicts of interest and especially the Plain and Simple Conflict of Interest Guide to understand the issues involved. -- Alexf(talk) 15:09, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Ferid Extranjero speedy deletion[edit]

I'm writing about a recent article that was signed for speedy deletion Ferid El Extranjero. The article had a strong source that showed the artist in an interview that was aired on a National TV in Tunisia. I would wonder why would an editor bother to speedy delete an article that he/she can't even access the reliability of its source. You don't even understand Tunisian Arabic nor did the person who signaled the article for speedy deletion. It is very unfair what you have done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amejel (talkcontribs) 19:59, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Let's take it one at a time. The page you are referring to was Ferid extranjero. That page was correctly slated for speedy deletion. The article your wrote had no independent reliable sources. Two of the "sources" were French Wikipedia pages, one was YouTube and one was to a marketing website (delahojaoficial). Even if that last source was reliable (it isn't), your assertion that they had "done an interview" does nothing to assert notability. I am not saying the individual should not be in Wikipedia, nothing of the sort, just that you have not shown why he should be in an encyclopedia. Please read the linked pages, especial the one about notability for musicians and see what is required. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 20:43, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

According to the notability guidelines, one band is notable if it meets at least of the criteria. The one criteria who he (Ferid El Extranjero) meets is the following: Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network.
The artist has been a featured subject in a substantial broadcast segment (Labess Show) and that show is aired by the top channel in Tunisia (Ettounisya channel) in terms of viewership. The following wikipedia article( comes on the mention of Ferid El Extranjero as an artist who opposed the overthrown regime. (Cependant, quelques artistes s'inscrivent dans la contestation comme Bendir Man, Lak3y, Ferid El Extranjero, Mounir Troudi, Mos Anif, DJ Costa et Karkadan10.) added by Amejel — Preceding undated comment added 19:45, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

Again, you are not producing reliable sources. Wikipedia as a place anyone can edit is not a proper source for this article. His political opinions and actions against the government are irrelevant to his notability here. -- Alexf(talk) 20:36, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

So let me get this straight. An 30 min interview on a major TV station is not a reliable source? Why are you not bothering to watching it or even asking someone to do it for you. Why judge something by its cover? I've found this article from a Tunisian magazine about Ferid El Extranjero. I hope this is not sensational to you. KICKSTART_KIDS Speedy Deletion[edit]

Hello Alex,

We just had a new page we created get Speedy Deleted because it was a duplicate page.

We either need to remove the old page (listed below) or simply change the old page's title to our organization's current name.

We now operate as KICKSTART KIDS rather than just KICKSTART. Is it possible to either delete the old page or change it's title and URL to KICKSTART_KIDS?

Request to undelete article about Emily Griffith[edit]

I work for Emily Griffith Technical College in Denver, Colorado and we recently went to review the Wikipedia page on our founder, Emily Griffith, and found that her page has been deleted. I would like to request that it be undeleted, this is the link to the page: and it says it was deleted because (A7: Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). Emily Griffith has been recognized by the city of Denver for her contributions to the community countless times over the last 100 years. I am happy to modify the article to reference those significant recognitions if that is the case.

If it's not possible to undelete the page then could would I be able to see a copy of the content that the page had? I would like to write another article about Emily Griffith and her public service but I want to make sure it is significantly different from the page that was deleted.

Thank you in advance for your time.

The Marketing team at Emily Griffith Technical College — Preceding unsigned comment added by Egtcmarketing (talkcontribs) 19:01, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

The contents of the page, all of it was: "Emily Griffith wished to teach adults so she did". That is it. No more, no less. Now you see why it was deleted. If you feel you can do better (and I am sure you can, please go ahead and write, but before change your account as you seem to have a conflict of interest in the subject. -- Alexf(talk) 11:20, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Time to undelete Ghost Town (band)[edit]

In April 2013 you deleted an article for a new band, , because it was not yet notable. True, then it wasn't. However, in the past year this band has been much more newsworthy: it was the subject of a long article in the prominent publication Spin ( ), has been covered by the local L.A. entertainment news, and is a headline act in the new international multi-band tour Vans Warped Tour ( ). I would like to resurrect and update this page, if possible. If it can't be resurrected, I can start it anew. Thanks!! Jonah Winters (talk) 17:10, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

The article only named the members of the band and their albums. That's it. No assertion of notability and no independent sources. If you can show it meets the requirements under WP:MUSIC, go ahead an write an article. -- Alexf(talk) 11:23, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Posh Ape[edit]

Hi Alex. Just letting you know that I've unblocked this user; they've chosen an appropriate new username and have agreed not to write about their band any longer. All the best, Yunshui  09:21, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Late responding but as you see up top, I am busy at work with no time lately. This will change in the near future and I'll be back. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 11:26, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

old article[edit]

2 years ago i created an article (nothing serious i just wanted to see if i could do it). Turns out I cant. Nothing to do with the site, or me. Time limitations have forces me not to create this page. I only wrote a couple of lines, however these lines i wrote 2 years ago now may cause offence. when I search for cylent beatz in google all the relevant stuff comes back. but with it comes this article i made 2 years ago. I just want it permantly deleted off the web. How do i go about this??

I have no idea how to use this — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daryl.evans2012 (talkcontribs) 07:55, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Once you put something in the net, it stays. That is the nature of the beast. Google doesn't forget easily. Never write anything you would be ashamed of later. Your employer, or your wife might find it later. -- Alexf(talk) 11:31, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Prathamesh Parab[edit]

I was planning to create an article for the Marathi actor Prathamesh Parab when I got to know that you had deleted a page with similar heading on 10:08, 10 February 2014. Can you please let me know the reason behind the same. I am trying to build a strong database of Marathi movies and actors on Wikipedia Aniruddha (talk) 05:22, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Alexf can you please reply back on my above question. Aniruddha (talk) 10:44, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Late responding but as you see in the absence notice up top, I am busy at work with no time lately. Per your question, the article said he is a child actor and listed two movies he worked on. As reference they provided IMDB (not acceptable as a reliable source, and two links to praises and advertisement for the movie, neither one detailing why he is notable (not the movie). -- Alexf(talk) 11:35, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. I will try to get more reliable sources and then plan on creating the article. Aniruddha (talk) 14:45, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Request for Page Title and School Name Change In Wikipedia[edit]'s_English_Medium_School,_Rourkela Should be's_School,_Rourkela

Desouza's School shouldn't be referred as Desouza's English Medium School, Rourkela. Instead it Should and is only referred as Desouza's School only.

Because when abbreviated it short name is DEMS ( Deepika English Medium School) which is already a school in Rourkela and mainly referred as "DEMS". It can tend to create a lot of confusion across people trying to find it or try to use it in abbreviated form.

The school is only referred as "Desouza's School" and Rourkela is the town in which its situated. So there the Article Name should be "Desouza's School, Rourkela"

Places where it found: In the School Diary, in the school prospectus, and in the school monogram which is stitched to the school shirt's of the students in this school. Ashish Peter (talk) 20:13, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Then why ask here instead of moving it? -- Alexf(talk) 21:04, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Please undelete Sharples School[edit]

Please could you undelete the page Sharples School created yesterday by the username sharplesschool. I had not full read the username policy and as such created it on behalf of my school rather than doing it personally. A number of other schools in our location have wiki pages and we felt that since we were celebrating 40 years this summer we would like our school to have a presence as well. We are a secondary school in England not a company.

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwjcapaldi (talkcontribs) 09:27, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Please could you undelete the page Sharples School which was created yesterday. The page refers to a secondary school in Bolton, England and was created with an account which broke username rules. Other schools in the area have a page but Sharples does not and it celebrates 40 years this summer. --Mwjcapaldi (talk) 09:36, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

The page was promotional, written by the school themselves. It had nothing but one sentence with no references whatsoever. If you have sources, then go ahead and write an article. There is nothing in the original worth restoring other than promotion. Note that Just because other similar pages exist is not a reason to have a page. Also, if you have a conflict of interest please declare it and be aware of the issues involved. -- Alexf(talk) 10:11, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

Hallo, I see you deleted Devin West as A3. It had no text, just an infobox, and I nominated it for deletion as A7, no credible assertion of importance or significance. My reading of the A3 criterion is that an article with an informative infobox is not A3-able. What do you think? (It appears to be an autobiography from a non-notable wannabe, and I'm certainly not asking you to undelete it, just not sure it fits the criterion you used). PamD 12:06, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Maybe right. The article was empty in any case with no content. It might be semantics but it couldn't stay the way it was. If and when they want to write it and have sources to assert notability, then ok. -- Alexf(talk) 12:23, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Deleted Auraphp and copyright violation[edit]

Hi Alex,

It has been come to my view that Auraphp page has been removed. I am part of the open-source project. That is the reason the text has been copied, and it doesnot violate the copy right issues.

Please bring it back.

Thank you

Sorry but you are incorrect. The text is a clear copyright violation as was indicated in the CSD notice. The page where the text was lifted from clearly says: "© 2011-2014, Aura for PHP". I noticed a few instances where you've had to come in and do the category cleanup after my blocks... my apologies. I'll remember to do that consistently. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:40, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

No problem. The category page is seriously backlogged and in need of cleanup. It will slowly be fixed in the next few weeks as I have the time. If you want to help, the page is at CAT:UAA. -- Alexf(talk) 18:44, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Nida Tüfekçi[edit]

"Mehmet Nida Tüfekçi (born 1 March 1929, Akdağmadeni, Yozgat – died 18 September 1993, İstanbul) was a Turkish folk music artist."

High Alex, working on Tüfekçi village and disambiguation pages, I saw that to my surprise there was no "Nida Tüfekçi" article in En:WP. Then I began to write one and I noticed that in fact there was a Nida Tüfekçi article (I had not seen it before) and that you recently deleted it per A7. I have no clue to how that article was, so I would like to try to see if I may make it better, as the person was an important folk singer in Turkey and should be notable. Will you kindly open a working page for me with the text that was here before so I may work on it? Thank you very much and best regards. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 09:35, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

The article had only two sentences:
Mehmet Nidâ Tüfekçi (born March 1, 1929, Akdağmadeni – September 18, 1993, Istanbul) was a Turkish folk singer.
Active in music for decade, he died after a heart attack.
That was it. -- Alexf(talk) 11:54, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

Dear editors, I´m contacting regarding the following articles. · "iMedPub": editors say it is a new publisher, and it is not. It has been founded in 2006 and it runs several medical journals and has published more than 30 medical books. · "Open Journal of Medicine" is an online journal offering an innovative publishing system called self-publishing. Why have you deleted Haigh & Hastings?[edit]

The company is notable- we have media on us, have Giles Bushby, ex Fossil UK MD as a new director and have not advertised. Please can you reinstate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 16:36, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

No sources to assert notability. No evidence to justify inclusion. Written as an advertisement, touting their wares and with the only link being to their website. Written by an account with a conflict of interest judging by the name. No need to go on. As per your request. I am afraid I can't restore it for the reasons stated. In the future, if you would be so kind as to read the request instructions, provide a link to the page in question, and sign your posts as required would be appreciated. -- Alexf(talk) 17:41, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

Daniel Nemani[edit]

Daniel Nemani

Dear Alexf,

Thank you for bringing to my attention about the issues my article has with the page named - 'Daniel Nemani'.

I am writing to explain the notability issue associated with the 'Daniel Nemani' article in the hopes of having this article unblocked :)

Here are some external/3rd party sources that I hope will verify 'Daniel Nemani's' notability as a weightlifter:

1. New Zealand Herald

2. 2013 Pacific Mini-Games

3. Commonwealth Games 2010: Weightlifting results

4. 2011 Arafura Games: Weightlifting Results

5. Tagata Pasifika: Commonwealth Games Profile - Danny Nemani

I hope this is sufficient enough external/third party sources to allow for the 'Daniel Nemani' article to be re-instated. Many thanks for your time here.

Kindest RegardsDanomyte13 (talk) 21:58, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

The article had none of these. In fact, it had no reliable references at all. I am not saying the subject meets the requirements for asserting notability, but having any of these would have stopped a speedy deletion A7 and gone for a more thorough examination by the community. So what you want want to do? The article was very basic, and as said, not referenced. Do you want it userfied? Or you can just write it properly from start. -- Alexf(talk) 00:10, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Busindia Deletion[edit]

Dear Alex

Thank you for putting me out of the misery of creating a Haiku. I, like most others, had gotten overly optimistic about this message on your user page :)

"If you request restoration in Haiku form, I'll probably comply no matter what."

I am told to have made the rookie mistake of sounding promotional when writing about Busindia. I tried my best to remove all superfluous and unverifiable rhetoric. I was using a competitor page for similar service ( as a reference for acceptability.

I did put in links to respected publications in India including one PR release by a Government of India body (

Can you please help me in understanding what parts are still dubious?

Best leelavati81 Leelavati81 (talk) 06:56, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

You did not put a link to the article as requested. Considering there are thousands of deletions daily, it is a little more difficult to search unless you point to it as asked: Busindia. That is what it looks like. Not too difficult, is it? After searching, I did read the article again. It is promotional, mentioning the URL early and often, giving a detailed account of what versions of OS it runs in, all relevant to a promotional brochure or a webpage, not an encyclopedia. Even if it was not promotional it would have been tagged for deletion as not having asserted notability. Links to PR releases don't do it. -- Alexf(talk) 09:37, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Disruptive IP editor[edit]

An IP user that you blocked, (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · info · WHOIS · RDNS · trace · RBLs · http · block user · block log), is still disruptively editing articles directly after coming off his block. He changes IP addresses rapidly, but 31 hours is not enough time to keep him from vandalizing 15-20 articles per session. Although a small number of his edits are admittedly helpful, the vast majority do nothing but edit war over genre, introduce IMDb trivia, or otherwise vandalize the articles. Hi Alex, I think you might have jumped the gun in deleting the Biblionef article yesterday. The article was written as part of the GLAM event Western Cape Libraries edit-a-thon and what was deleted was only the first iteration of that article. It was deleted before the first time editors taking part in the edit-a-thon had a chance to add supporting references to the article. I would like to know if there is any way to roll back the deletion or if it will be necessary to re-create the article from scratch? Thanks,--Discott (talk) 08:45, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Ok. I take your word. Restored. They better improve it soon or it will be gone again by some other editor. It is definitely not ready for prime time and it should not be worked on mainspace but in a subpage until ready. -- Alexf(talk) 11:22, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks Alex, I knew that their first few edits would likely not be of very high quality as they are still learning how to add references in Wikipedia. Its just that I was expecting the deletion process to be much slower and not as fast as within 12 hours of the page's creation but a couple of days. Cheers,--Discott (talk) 14:19, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
It is called Speedy Deletion process after all. If you see one tagged for CSD and you have this issue, then change it to PROD and explain the reason in the article's Talk Page. Patrollers and Admins do not know about a project being behind the article. As it looked it is removable. -- Alexf(talk) 14:52, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
