License tagging for Image:Tq2k2-duet.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tq2k2-duet.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:09, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Tq2k2-fem.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tq2k2-fem.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use rationale for Image:Tq2k2-duet.jpg[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tq2k2-duet.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 23:40, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Tq2k1-duet.JPG[edit]

Nuvola apps important blue.svg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tq2k1-duet.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:24, 24 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 18:24, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:Helms sj2.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Helms sj2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 16:13, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

YouSendIt page updates[edit]

Thanks for your valuable contributions to wikipedia. As you pointed out about YouSendIt article, much of History section that was removed was not relevant and overly self-promoting. If you feel specific parts of the history need to be restored, please do so. --Pinecar (talk) 22:48, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

PR comments[edit]

Standard procedure is to reply on the PR review page. You can look at other ongoing PRs to get an idea of what people say and where they say it. It's not necessary to reply to all of the PR suggestions; I rarely have time to check the review pages carefully, and you are under no obligation to take any particular piece of advice. I'd be glad to answer specific questions, if any, about my review. Just ping me on my talk page if that's the case. Finetooth (talk) 02:46, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Saint Joseph Parish (Mountain View, California)[edit]

Hi there. I stumbled onto User:Alvincura/Sandbox because it currently appears in Category:Roman Catholic Diocese of San Jose in California. I suppose I could mark it as a draft and remove the categories but looking at the history, it seems that it was never used as a draft per se and simply consists of old revisions of Saint Joseph Parish (Mountain View, California). I am guessing you would be ok with deleting that page but if not, can you remove the categories and mark it as a draft? Thanks, Pichpich (talk) 19:22, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. Thanks for your message. Thanks for catching that. That was certainly an error on my part, which I have corrected. Cheers! - Alvincura (talk) 20:17, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Coordinator sought for the US National Archives WikiProject[edit]

NARA Logo created 2010.svg

Greetings, WikiProject US National Archives member!

We are seeking a coordinator to help reboot the project and work on new initiatives! The role is modeled after other Wikiproject coordinators, like the WikiProject Military History coordinators. The coordinator will work with the Wikipedian in Residence to organize and increase participation in the WikiProject, with the goal that the WikiProject is an active space for collaboration maintained by and for the Wikipedia editors, rather than the National Archives.

Please see the full information at Wikipedia:GLAM/NARA/Coordinator and contact me is you have any questions. Feel free to pass this note along to any interested parties. Thanks! Dominic·t 20:59, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175[edit]

Dear Alvincura,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Sky Harbor (talk) 14:29, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
