Michael Angelo Batio albums[edit]

Alrighty. Looks like you're legit, rather than just a random passer-by (or passer-editor, heh). Several things I'm gonna have to disagree with here:

1. Why de-link the recording location? Template:Infobox album#Recorded says nothing about that, so why not keep "in Chicago, Illinois" linked as they were before? Looked fine to me. Also, can you point me to which source has the recording year? I usually leave specific or even vague recording dates out unless there's a concrete source for them.

2. What was wrong with the instrumentation being laid out the way it was before? If it merely comes down to personal preference, then.. well, then we might have a problem 'cause that's how I've always done it without being challenged so far.

3. For No Boundaries, Why is Perris Records now preferred over Thermometer Sound Surface? Both have equally dubious sources IMO. I went by Guitar Nine's version of events, but you seem to have found a different one.

4. Why has Batio's name been de-linked from the producer section? As per Template:Infobox album#Producer it says to link the producer's name, with no mention about overlink. Therefore I always tend to keep them linked for the sake of consistency. Stylistic preference again?

5. Progressive metal is now listed ahead of instrumental rock. Why's that? I know I'm getting really nitpicky here, but progressive metal in general tends to have vocals, whereas instrumental rock is.. well, exactly what is on the two albums. Is this subjective or are we going by sources here? Allmusic says pop/rock, which I find ridiculous, and if you've listened to the albums you'll most likely agree.

6. "Musicians", "Additional personnel".. ugh. Another stylistic preference? Ouch, that's three now.

Let's discuss. :-) Mac Dreamstate (talk) 22:19, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

I'm more than just legit, my friend, I created the articles in the first place!! I will try to answer your questions...
  1. The location of Chicago, Illinois is not relevant to the "Recorded" parameter in the infobox. I have edited album articles for a long time now and have seen this as the standard way to do it. Check the featured articles of albums to see.
  2. I entered the instrumentation as it is laid out in the album liner notes. The order is, again, the standard of album articles on large... instruments first, stuff related to music next (arrangements, programming), production next, and other stuff (photography etc) last. Just making sure it was right by re-writing it; it was pretty much the same I think.
  3. Allmusic is a more reliable source than Guitar Nine Records, and they said Perris Records. Allmusic is often used by Wikipedia.
  4. It is standard not to link the producer if it is the same name as the artist. This is correct.
  5. Of course I have listened to the albums, haha! But yeah this is preference really... Wikipedia tends to list more general genres first, so putting instrumental rock and/or heavy metal first is probably more correct.
  6. Yeah, that's just something I like to do.

So I don't see any reason to revert my edits; I started the article and am now cleaning it up with updated templates and corrected/improved references. So could we just go with what I've done? Thanks for messaging me though, I'm happy to keep discussing. Andre666 (talk) 22:25, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Admittedly I am quite a quick reverter.. Bad habit, I know. It probably stems from the vandalism/edit-and-runs I normally see. No worries. You started the articles, though? So you're actually Dog Man311 and Neo139? Not quite feeling you there. Either way, since you appear to have maintained those pages for longer than I have, I'll concede. Have a nice day (and weekend). Southampton Season Article[edit]

I was referring to the dash between the scorelines. WP:MOS says texts should be unspaced from now on, this applies for football articles as well. Here is an example of how it should look like. Hope this clears things up a bit. Arbero (talk) 10:54, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Premier League full names[edit]

Hi there - when changing full names, please cite your source in the article itself as opposed to just the edit summary - you can use <ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/squad-lists/Squad-Lists-September-2012.pdf|title=Premier League Clubs submit Squad Lists|date=4 September 2012|publisher=Premier League}}</ref>. Regards, GiantSnowman 16:54, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the message, but I do know how to cite lol, as I have been editing WP for over 5 years now. I didn't feel that adding the reference into the article was necessary, as full names very rarely warrant a reference on their own unless it is a source of debate, but I thought I'd go ahead and include it in the edit summary just so nobody thought about reverting it. This would be the most conventional way to do it, in my opinion and experience. Andre666 (talk) 17:09, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Southampton player lists[edit]

Hi - As you may have noticed, I have completely re-written the List of Southampton F.C. players and have created List of Southampton F.C. players (25–99 appearances) and List of Southampton F.C. players (fewer than 25 appearances). I see that you have been working on similar articles in your sandbox, so I'm sorry if your efforts have been wasted. I must confess that I "ripped off" your intro to the article(s). It would be nice to add some images to the articles, but I'm struggling to find any of the noteworthy players in a Saints shirt. Best wishes – keep the faith. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:28, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Oh... I wish you'd told me that! Hehe... oh well, but you need to sort them by their first team debut, not number of appearances. Andre666 (talk) 10:30, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Also a few other things... the appearances should go Starts/Subs/Total, not with a separate League column, and references should be done with the small notes as usual (see List of Manchester United F.C. players for a great featured list on which I based mine). Andre666 (talk) 10:37, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Also, for the positions column you should use {{sort|01|GK}} for each position, 1 for GK, 2 for DF, 3 for HB, 4 for MF, and 5 for FW, so the positions are sorted accordingly. I also think some of the notes you put in the top of columns are not matching up correctly, so you might wanna check 'em. Andre666 (talk) 10:52, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Please don't dream up a non-existent convention. The three lists are split by number of appearances, so the sorting must be on the same basis, End of. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 20:01, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

p.s. Don't call me dude - I find it highly offensive.
p.p.s. See the List of Birmingham City F.C. players or List of Gillingham F.C. players which are featured lists – both sorted by number of appearances. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 20:06, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
On the dude thing, I don't know your name, so I just use something to refer to you... sorry to have offended you, but there's no need to be so aggressive, we're clearly on the same side. Yes, all three lists must be sorted in the same way, but that same way is by date of debut for the club, not by number of appearances; this is an article about all players with over 100 appearances for the club, not the players with most appearances for the club. And it is a convention, just check all the featured lists in this area (two being against the rule, but loads following it). The lists I were producing on my sandbox followed this convention, but yours are very different in many ways (this for one, the inclusion of a separate column for league appearances for no reason, the references not in the references section which is completely unique to this list, and the notes in a wide column). Now I think we should discuss these changes, no? Andre666 (talk) 20:09, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
There is nothing to discuss. There is no convention, so stop trying to invent one. The list was fine as it was. And I don't accept that just because it's Man f...ing United, that make it the standard -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 20:12, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
My name is David by the way.
There is everything to discuss: this is Wikipedia, where a community of editors produce the best content for everyone, not your website when you do what you want. Yeah, the list is fine, it's accurate(ish) and everything, but it's not as good as it can be. It's not a dig at you, we should just always look to improve, and I would like to change it to be sorted by date of debut. Stop disregarding what I say like I'm some shitty new editor who doesn't know what they're talking about, because you know that just isn't true. Andre666 (talk) 20:15, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Before deciding how to deal with this, I asked for advice at WP:football. See the discussion at [1] Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 22:44, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Oh wow, that's really convincing isn't it? I can't be bothered arguing with you anymore, because clearly you don't care about my opinion and are very stubborn to change anything you've made. There are so many things wrong about your lists, and if you are going to put up a fight then I'll leave it to be that way. Good day. Andre666 (talk) 09:38, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

In That Number - Player of the Season[edit]

Thanks for the note, but unfortunately "In That Number" does not list the Player of the Season. It is occasionally mentioned in the player bios, but that's all. Apart from the "Southampton Mad" website, I have struggled to find a better reference, even for more recent "awards". Incidentally, there is a problem with your draft article in your sandbox. The "caps" column doesn't sort correctly; this is because the use of the dagger symbol confuses the sort, which will sort it as a character. To get round this, can I suggest that you colour code and include the dagger in the "Nationality" column to indicate capped players. Also, it would be nice if the background colours and symbols could be consistent with the player list articles.

In the narrative section, it would be good if you could explain how the winner is chosen and when the award is presented. Over the years, the basis of selection has changed; originally, this was via the Daily Echo by sending in your votes, and later with a phone-in option, although lately the poll was taken over by the club. I seem to recall that in some years, there were two separate awards, one organised by the Echo and the other by the club. Likewise, with the award presentation, this has changed over the years. This used to be done at half-time in the last home match of the season, but more recently this has been done before the kick-off, with only a small part of the crowd in their seats in a very low-key affair.

I don't think Cortese has any real feel for the club and to him it's just a business which he and the Leibherr family hope to be able to sell on at a profit. Consequently, he has no real respect for the history of the club; witness the way he has treated Le Tissier in the past. Sorry; I went off one one there! Together as one – onwards and upwards. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:49, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

I have now edited the Player of the Year section of the List of Southampton F.C. players to include another reference which I tracked down. Hope this helps. Incidentally, it appears that the correct title of the award is "Player of the Year", not "Player of the Season". -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 07:16, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Atomic EP[edit]

Hi. Not sure if you've seen the reply I left on my talk page so I'll repost it here. As 2013 has just begun and the EP still hasn't been released yet, it should be out sometime this year. He wouldn't make the whole thing streamable and then release it in 2014. I can't give you a reference but "TBC" would be a far better release date to put than Christmas Day. I think it's best we just put something that's not misleading and wait it out until an official release date is announced. Thanks for asking and not just editing hastily! CKY discography[edit]

Why did you redirect it? You should really have used an edit summary to explain your reasons. --Michig (talk) 19:50, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. The discography article provides very little detail other than release dates, which are found easily in the individual articles. Usually for a discography article to exist there must be significant independent coverage of the subject, which is in most cases chart positions, sales certifications, and the like. As none of these exist for the CKY discography, there is absolutely no need for the article. Andre666 (talk) 20:31, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
I disagree, and clearly so do several other editors given the number of times you have reverted. Readers shouldn't have to go through many separate articles (many of which are not linked from the band article) to get details of the band's discography, and severalsome releases do not have articles (or soon won't as one is PRODded). The discography article is a perfectly valid split from the band article. --Michig (talk) 20:35, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
You're neglecting to mention that I actually created the article in the first place, so if I hadn't it wouldn't even exist and no one might've thought it should. Also, from looking at all the article's edits, I've only ever redirected it to the main page twice before today (on 25 December 2010 and on 23 December 2011), and before today's it has been accepted for a year as a good redirect by the community. Also, apart from myself, the only people having edited the article are unregistered users (normally just fans wanting more coverage of their favourite band), bots, and yourself. Andre666 (talk) 20:41, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, but I don't see any good reasons there to redirect it. --Michig (talk) 20:30, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
I can't believe you're actually an administrator! You are so petty in the way you disregard every single thing I say. Well... maybe I don't see any good reasons to keep it. If it's a valid argument for you, then it is for me as well. If it's an edit war you want, then fine. Take it somewhere to see what the community thinks and maybe we can settle this properly. Andre666 (talk) 20:44, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
You have now redirected this four times. Two other editors have reverted, so you are in a minority. Looking at your argument above you should have a read of WP:OWN. I'm disappointed that you are being so combative and abusive over this and so willing to start an edit war, when all you had to do if you were really bothered was start a discussion on the talk page of the article and see what consensus was reached - would it really hurt you to leave the article be if other editors see value in it? Please have a think about the way you are behaving and reconsider. --Michig (talk) 21:42, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Fine, I'll start a discussion, I just don't think there are enough people to talk about it. I don't feel like I own it for the record, I just pointed out that I was the one who started it, to give weight to my current opinion on the matter. I'm sorry for being so abrasive, I've just been annoyed recently with some people on Wikipedia who think they can stroll in and do what they like. I will start a discussion, and if people think it is notable enough for its own article then I will help make it better as I have a lot of experience in the field. Andre666 (talk) 21:45, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Notability isn't the only issue - it's also a question of how to organise the information, and there's probably too much for the main article. Peter James (talk) 21:47, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

IMDB[edit]

IMDB is not reliable, someone even said in the DRV "It's got 6 cites to the IMDB bio which is fundamentally unreliable and needs to be removed". I can find more if you like. But don't add it again.--JacktheHarry (talk) 12:53, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

I can see why it would be unreliable for certain things, but for just his name, date of birth and filmography? Wikipedia is very silly sometimes. Andre666 (talk) 12:54, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
If you could help find some sources in place of the ones you've just removed, that would be helpful rather than just getting rid of them and leaving it for someone else to clean up. Thanks! Andre666 (talk) 13:01, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
I'm more likely to send it back to AFD, the sources are dire, they are nearly all primary. Your problem of sourcing that information goes back to the original problem: notability. It looks to have only been restored as nobody did a proper analysis of the sources. The only user that seem to do so was 62.254.139.60 (talk · contribs).--JacktheHarry (talk) 13:14, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Toby Turner page[edit]

Thanks for all your effort on the Toby Turner page. You had some negative reactions to the way you did some things, which is only natural on Wikipedia, but I want to balance that out with some gratitude. MarshallKe (talk) 15:44, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Hey! Thanks very much, it's much appreciated. I've been editing heavily on here long enough to be used to the negative feedback, but it still bothers me. I worked hard to make sure this was brought back from deletion as well, so it's good to know people see that. :) Andre666 (talk) 15:50, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Afd for In Repair (John Mayer song)[edit]

Hi, the Afd link you created for In Repair (John Mayer song) currently points to a different, related afd, the one for neon (song). Did you create a separate afd for In Repair? I did a search but couldn't find it. Dialectric (talk) 11:48, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

It's a grouped one. I followed the instructions on the AfD page for multiple nominations of similar articles. Andre666 (talk)

Beautiful People,[edit]

if you look, has been at that title for what, an hour? It was previously in userspace. I was hoping to add traffic to both of them so I didn't have to do it after writing the If 60's Were 90's (album) page, but okay.--Launchballer 10:27, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the message. The point of a navbox like Template:Jimi Hendrix is to help users navigate to articles; since the album in question does not have an article yet, it should not be added to the navbox. The band would not be added in any circumstance unless explicitly linked to the artist in question. Feel free to add it again when the article is created though! Ok so if singles have no articles they aren't needed, but shouldn't they be allowed? cos if other bands have singles regardless of whether or not they have articles why can't The Sword?

Going against consensus[edit]

Hello, please do not revert decisions made by consensus on WT:FOOTY. The relevant discussion is here for you to read. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 18:27, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Yo... it's not a section for the starting XI, which IS subjective OR. This is simply a table of the players with the most appearances. Your case needs more solid evidence than this, in which case I'm happy to oblige. Andre666 (talk) 18:57, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

OK, fair enough I see what you're doing. One comment though - What is the difference between the Total column in the Squad statistics table and Most appearances - Most appearances seems to be a duplication of the information already contained within the Squad stats table... Talk page comments[edit]

Are we sure that removing talk page comments is okay in this case? I'm just wondering...if it is okay, then by all means, proceed.--SexyKick 16:44, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Well I didn't think so, but when I wrote a similar thing a while back mine was removed as well. So yeah, I think it is okay in such situations. Andre666 (talk) 17:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Livescores[edit]

Hi. Based on Wikipedia policies and guidlines we should not provide livescores, based on WP:LIVESCORES and WT:FOOTY consensus here. Has also been discussed many more times. If you keep adding this your edits will be considered disruptive and you may be warned and blocked. One of the concerns is what happens if game gets interupted and/or awarded a 3-0 win, who scored the goals then, and so on. Please wait until matches are finished. Thank you. QED237 (talk) 15:37, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

May i remind you that we should not add ANY live statistics as you did when adding a goal for Schneiderlin etc. Next time you will be warned and later blocked. QED237 (talk) 15:42, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
Okay, well maybe next time be more clear and tell me that it's the scorers as well as the scores that we can't share. What a stupid rule, but fine. Don't threaten me with that nonsense though, I am clearly not a disruptive editor am I. Good day. Andre666 (talk) 16:12, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
I am sorry if I was not clear enough earlier. It might sound stupid but it is the correct thing since matches can get interupted and on a later date awarded to some team and then goals scored will not count and so on. I know from previous edit that you ar not a disruptive editor, but I have to inform you of the situation. I am sorry if I somehow offended you. I hope you have a good day to. QED237 (talk) 16:17, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
Fine. Obviously if it was interrupted though it would be edited back, so that's not exactly a reason I buy. I know how Wikipedia works though re consensus etc., so I won't argue, so whatever. Andre666 (talk) 16:21, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Premier league table template[edit]

Hi. You are one of the editors involved in the Premier league table template at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 121#Displaying a part of the table. The work is very close to the end and the template now looks like the one currently used at 2013–14 Premier League. I just wanted to see if you could take a look at Template:2013–14 Premier League table/sandbox and the result of the template that can be seen at User:Spudgfsh/sandbox. Please take a look at it and comment on the result. Then it is only to decide if we should highlight the team or not and then we should be ready to use it. Discussion about that on Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Highlighting or bolding. Thank you!. QED237 (talk) 11:33, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Early Saints players[edit]

Thanks for the note and the new articles. The "All the Saints" book was on my Christmas list, but Santa decided it was too expensive, so I'll have to save up for it out of my meagre pension! At present, my life is largely taken up with another project, researching the lives and deaths of the men commemorated on my village war memorial in readiness for the 100th anniversary in August. Consequently, Wikipedia will have to take a back seat, so the field is all yours. I have a user page where I have listed all the Saints players from the Southern League era onwards without an article (see here), so if you want to turn the redlinks blue, that would be marvelous. The existing blue links are where articles have been created by other users since I first created the list, but need more Saints content adding. Cheers. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 09:52, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

I was always a bit dubious about preparing articles for the players from the pre-Southern League era, as I am not sure they pass the notability test, but hopefully no-one will object to well-written, properly referenced articles. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 09:57, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
i have edited the references on the Bromley brothers. The 1987 book was not published by Hagiology but by Breedon Books. I have also converted the referencing to the SfnRef system, which works better if the same book is used for multiple references. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 10:21, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Are you able to help with the query on Talk:Robert McLean (footballer)? -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 12:20, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Done! Feel free to request more if you need to in the future :) Andre666 (talk) 12:56, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Does "All the Saints" have bios for the team managers or trainers such as Knight, Arnfeld or Bill Dawson from the earliest days? -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 07:34, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Regarding your earlier query about photos, I think that pre-1914 photos should be out of copyright unless the book says otherwise. See the licence I used at Watty Keay for example. The commons link is [2]. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 07:41, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
Hey, no nothing on managers or anyone else other than players unfortunately. I will take a look at the image upload form later and see if this is possible then. Andre666 (talk) 07:45, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

2013–14 Southampton F.C. season[edit]

Hi. I just felt I should explain my edit at 2013–14 Southampton F.C. season since you reverted it. The one and only reason was to make it to look more like all of the other club season articles that uses those headers to explain what is seen in the sections. For example "results by matchday" section is not clear to everyone since some editors edit against source (at least on the other articles) because they think it is position after all teams have played their matches. I realise everyone has different opinons and that all articles dont have to look the same so I wont go in to edit warring and re-revert, but I just wanted to express my opinion (although I dont see any reason for revert more than WP:OWNERSHIP and that you want the article to look what you think is right). QED237 (talk) 23:01, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

No problem, thanks for the message. It is not simply WP:OWNERSHIP that I would revert the edit, though; my opinion in response to yours would be that one heading is enough to cover everything in this section – i.e. league positions and results – and to put too many sub-headings in would make it less appealing to an end user. Andre666 (talk) 12:53, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Greetings from India. I have not been able to edit much since I've been here, although I log on as often as I can. I have missed your write-ups of the Saints matches. Are you planning on bringing have such a table these up to date? Looking for a victory at Sunderland this weekend. COYR! -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 15:10, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Hey buddy, hope you're enjoying yourself out there! Yeah, I definitely will be, maybe even tonight, just been crazy busy this week at work I've taken the free time to sleep! Definitely looking for a win tomorrow, want a good cup run so we can add the word "Winners" to the season article haha! Andre666 (talk) 18:58, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi there. Shouldn't Boruc be included in the top appearances table. He has played the same number of games (22) as Clyne and Lovren. It seems odd to have such a table without a keeper. I would edit it myself, but only have access to the Ipad ag the mo. Thanks as ever. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 21:49, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:PleaseExperienceWolfmotherEP.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:PleaseExperienceWolfmotherEP.png. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:39, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
