Hi[edit]

Could you do something about this edit please? Cheers, King of the North East (T/C) 22:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mario Balotelli[edit]

Cortesemente non usare un linguaggio scorretto. Tu stesso in [1] in data 22:09, 24 agosto 2007 (UTC) hai sostenuto la correttezza di usare Mario Balotelli come nome corretto. Per qualsiasi altra disquisizione ti invito a contattarmi direttamente a info@mariobalotelli.it [2] prima di effettuare qualsiasi modifica riguardante il nome. --Simone Frassanito 18:04, 25 ottobre 2007 (UTC+2)

Mario Balotelli #2[edit]

A presto. --Simone Frassanito 19:08, 25 ottobre 2007 (UTC+2)

Image copyright problem with Image:US Calcio Caravaggese logo.png[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:US Calcio Caravaggese logo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 23:44, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting the Swiss Masters page[edit]

i was wondering if you could un-delete the 'Swiss Masters' page for it stats who won the super swiss league over the entirety of the league so it is useful information. thank you, User:Rissederengel

Deleting the Swiss Masters page #2[edit]

In my opinion, you just compared an outline to an entire book. Like, in a way, what you deleted is like deleting every UEFA Champions League Seasons and saying that the Champions league’s main page where it says won is sufficient enough. I will admit the page does need more work done to it; for basically all the page does is have a short paragragh saying the history of the highest league in switzerland and list everyclub (even the ones that are no longer around) that has won it and what year. however, deleting it is not the way of going around it and making it a better page. For, i wish for it to, one day, be like the [Italian Football Champions] page, but deleteing what is there is not going to help. Like if you truly wanted the page to imporve you could add infromation on the league. But if you really have a need to delete something, I would delete the Swiss Super League#League Champions on the Swiss Super League page for all tat is needed on that page is a simple sentence that states who won it the most. Sincerly, User:Rissederengel —Preceding comment was added at 16:57, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non free images on season pages[edit]

This has actually been discussed to death over other sports. Using the club logo every time we mention the team, or on every sub page for a team is unnecessary for identification of the team. We only use non-free content where it is the subject of the article itself. On the main club article this is possibly the case, but on the season page, the logo adds nothing but decoration. An exception may be a season in which the club changes logo, and this is discussed in the article. ed g2stalk 09:47, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're writing about the team's season. What specifically (and significantly) does a logo add to your knowledge about a team's season? (see WP:NONFREE #8: Significance. Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding.). ed g2stalk 10:36, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The articles are about events of a particular season for a particular club. A logo does not "significantly increase readers' understanding" of the events of a particular season for a particular club. If you seriously think it does, then please elaborate on exactly how? ed g2stalk 13:08, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"A logo visibly describes the subject the article is about". A logo doesn't "describe" anything. It shows what the club's logo is. All it tells you is what the logo looks like. With a bit of commentary, it might tell you more (the origin/spirit of the club). Either way the subject of these articles is a specific season. I do not understand that club's season any better by seeing the logo. As with all cases involving non-free media, we do not use the image unless a compelling case is made for their inclusion. Without such a case and a consensus, the images will remain omitted. ed g2stalk 14:01, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Take your issues to WP:NONFREE, it is beyond the scope of the football WikiProject. As for the style changes, "infobox" is the standard, and semantically correct, stylesheet class to use for infoboxes, not "wikitable". Feel free to tweak it further, but don't use "wikitables" as your base. Thanks, ed g2stalk 19:36, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A.S. Cisco Roma[edit]

Regarding the A.S. Cisco Roma player pages i recently created i think the only solution for this is to delete and wait till the clubs website is updated, and then un-delete the page. Thanks. --Sunderland06 16:22, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, if it can be un-deleted when more information is available, i will inform you when there is more info.--Sunderland06 17:49, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Alessio Cerci Picture[edit]

I'll admit it's not very legal-sounding on her page, but if you look at 23goodcops.blogspot.com and scroll down a bit to her post "Quick Comment to KingPenguin", then you'll find that she claims no copyright for any of her flickr photos. She doesn't just say "yeah, use them for wikipedia", but "no copyright, no problem" in response to my asking for permission to use them. I hope that will stand to let the picture stay on wikipedia. -KingPenguin 00:42, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It may be worth noting that the pictures Image:Totti.jpeg, Image:RicardoFaty.jpeg, and Image:Cassetti.jpeg use exactly the same justifications, all part of the same person's set. I'll get them all set up on Commons tomorrow if you want me to, I don't have time right now. -KingPenguin 02:40, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Angelo, I want to sorry as my wrong to made vandal in Serie A 2007-08.

-QuestionersQuestion 05:01, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell Angelo, if not me who will create those good things? For sure not Yamerda, who just deleted them because he finds it impossible to lose his virginity so he just trolls on the net (or whatever his issue is). Do you condone the clown deleting Serie B 1971-72, Serie B 1961-62, Serie B 1949-50, Serie B 1950-51, which is clearly valuable info?[4] The clown also removed valuable info to do with Palermo gaining a promotion, I find it difficult to see how that is acceptable? You should consider his suspect behaviour more than mine, atleast I add things, what does he ever do. - Plancton 01:55, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Giornale di Sicilia frontpage.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Giornale di Sicilia frontpage.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:24, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Lilli Gruber (EP, 6th term).jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jackaranga 23:57, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Liverpool F.C. European Record[edit]

I think that this revision is necessary, due to the fact that it exists on the Everton F.C. article, and in Liverpool's case is very impressive, so should be included, but was reverted by you? WilliamF1 (talk) 19:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Very good point Angelo.romano, I didn't know that the page Liverpool F.C. in Europe exsisted, but since I now do, I can add this table (to be completed) to said article. Many thanks! WilliamF1 (talk) 19:31, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cwnz[edit]

Hi, On December 13 you deleted an article on statistics education which was an entirely different article, but with the same title, as one deleted on 9 December on grounds that were totally unrelated to the replacement. I don't understand what is going on. This is an entirely uncontroversial academic area, "statistics education" is its name. Please explain how I can get the page reinstated? or otherwise help me understand what is going on? Thanks. (talk) 18:47, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

> The most recent version is actually the introduction taken from the previously deleted one. > If you completely rewrite it, I have no problem in keeping it. --Angelo (talk) 19:25, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

The intro paragraph is something I had started adding to the previous one (contributed by someone else), after it got early deletion notices, in an effort to transform it into encyclopedia form. (I was actually working on it at the time the previous one disappeared.) It is simply a definition of the area and nothing to do with the reasons the earlier version got into trouble. It is closely modelled on the established entry for mthematics education. Although the 2nd paragraph shares quite a few elements with what was there (it has to, the history is the history) I went back to the original now quoted sources. It also has new elements and is well referenced with many of the references web accessible and easily checkable.

(talk) 18:22, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please put it back in my space and I will have a go but you have not answered the objection that the material in my version is not the material that attracted the early deletion notices and should thus not have to be replaced. (talk) 20:02, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Angelo! I was wondering if you could help me with some advice. My move requests of RM:Associação Académica de Coimbra and RM:Associação Académica de Coimbra - O.A.F. ended less than satisfactory for both me and my opponent (the other person in the discussion). This is maybe to some extent my fault, but the biggest reason is the intervention of the "closing admin", User:Philip Baird Shearer. After two fairly short debates between two and three people respectivly, both RMs seemed to just fizzle out. I was expecting two 'no consensus' results and were thinking of either amending the nominations or just withdraw them alltogether. In steps User:Philip Baird Shearer who closes both RMs and releases two rather strange verdicts.

In the case of the football club it was closed as a 'no consensus', which is fine since there were no-one debating it except me (the nominator) and a Portuguese person who wanted the official name instead of the common name. The problem is Shearer's addition of his personal (and clearly uninformed) view in some sort of verdict or interpretation of the RM. I approached him on this on his talkpage, and removed his views from the archived RM. I think that if you have a view on the subject you should add it to the discussion where it can be debated, and not as a "verdict" when closing the discussion.

In the case of the students' union, me and the Portuguese fellow was discussing different alternatives when the RM was closed. The problem, in short, is that the Associação Académica de Coimbra is both a students' union (which I think should be named Coimbra Academic Association by WP:UE) and a multi-sports club with top-flight teams in e.g. handball and volleyball, with the professional football club AAC-OAG an autonomous part of it. Not only was the RM accepted prematurely, my request was also amended without discussion by the closer (again mr Shearer), creating a possible dab-problem with Coimbra Academic Association - football and adding the move of Estádio Universitário de Coimbra → Coimbra University Stadium, before closing the RM. The RM itself was tied 1-1 so there was clearly no consensus.

The result of the RMs was that Associação Académica de Coimbra and all it's sub-articles was moved to Coimbra Academic Association, and the football club, Associação Académica de Coimbra - O.A.F. (who I actually think have an English WP:common name in Académica de Coimbra) was left where it is. I don't think that this is a good outcome. I have since come up with a (in my opinion) better suggestion, which I have posted on User talk:Yodaki.

Frankly I'm a bit worried about how things are run over at WP:RM. It seems that the closing admins just makes the decisions themselves, not paying attention to the discussions. If I want to have a discussion on how RMs are closed, where do I turn? I'm also wondering if you would care to have a look at the RMs and see if I'm just overreacting. I would be very grateful for your help. Sebisthlm (talk) 14:40, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Logo UDC 2006.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Logo UDC 2006.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:46, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Acquafresca[edit]

Hi there. Acquafresca has a Polish passport, Polish mother and he speaks Polish. What else does he need to be Polish? Do not say that he plays in Italy, because in the summer he might move to Liverpool or Stuttgart. You never know. Or perhaps he will choose to play for Poland National Team - he is seriously thinking about it. Tymek (talk) 02:51, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure that he speaks Polish, one of my friends, who works for Polish Football Federation, talked to him in Polish some time ago. Also, Zbigniew Boniek said that Roberts speaks good Polish. In a recent interview, Acquafresca said to Gazeta Wyborcza that he feels both Italian and Polish, and his mother asked Polish Federation to give them 2-3 weeks to decide whether to play for Poland or Italy. My hunch is that he will choose Italy, which is a better team, just like Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski chose Germany, but we will see. Tymek (talk) 13:13, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, check this http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=622674. Tymek (talk) 18:29, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And he chose Italy, just as I thought. So good luck, hope he will one day cap for the Squadra Azzuri. Greets Tymek (talk) 02:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you prod'ed this article. Before I remove the prod template, I wanted to check with you on the notability standard for U-20 players. Goicoechea participated in the FIFA U-20 Championship finals (link is supplied on his article page), and I thought that was sufficient for notability. Perhaps this is unsettled at this time? Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 16:59, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clarification. I agree that he has not yet appeared in a fully professional league match. However, he most certainly did appear in the finals of the 2007 FIFA U-20 Championship in Canada. Here is an official matchreport for the match were he was sent off ([6]). I'm not sure that U-20 finals matches are sufficient for notability, but I thought they were based on conversations on the WP:FOOTY talk page. Jogurney (talk) 17:55, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I just noticed your new message. I'm still unsure about the notability standard for U-20's, but based on Goicoechea's appearances there and membership in his club's Copa Libertadores squad list, I'm going to remove the prod. Hopefully he will appear in the league soon enough and the issue will go away. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 17:58, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Colombian football[edit]

Someone has been shifting Colombian football clubs (Atlético Junior and Independiente Santa Fe) to their full official names instead of their common names, without discussion or consensus meaning that the categories no longer match up with the artilces. I was wondering if you could move them back and ask the user not to do controversial moves without discussion and consensus on the article talkpage. (Special:Contributions/Kok13). Regards,

P.S. my computer doesn't like your talkpage 125 kilobytes is too much for the old heap of junk English peasant 23:14, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Angelo[edit]

Sorry Angelo but the names Independiente Santa Fe and Atlético Junior are absolutely false. You can see it here: http://www.dimayor.com.co/club_santafe.htm http://www.dimayor.com.co/club_junior.htm --Kok13 (talk) 03:38, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Instead, in order to meet Wikipedia:NC#Sports_teams, the articles can be named Santa Fe C.D. or Santa Fe CD and the other as Junior de Barranquilla, not Independiente Santa Fe or Atlético Junior because it was the former names of the clubs. ¿Or you name New York Red Bulls as Metrostars or Torino F.C. as Torino Calcio? It's the same mistake. --Kok13 (talk) 03:50, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think this guy is having trouble understanding the meaning of talkpage discussion and consensus. ([7] & [8]). Sorry for dragging you into it again. English peasant 09:52, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
