Deletion discussion about Snow cone[edit]

Hello, AntonioMartin, and thanks for contributing to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that some editors are discussing at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Snow cone whether the article Snow cone should be in Wikipedia. I encourage you to comment there if you think the article should be kept in the encyclopedia.

The deletion discussion doesn't mean you did something wrong. In fact, other editors may have useful suggestions on how you can continue editing and improving Snow cone, which I encourage you to do. If you have any questions, feel free to ask at the Help Desk.

Thanks again for your contributions! —Ryulong (竜龙) 10:43, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

Help a newbie out?[edit]

Hi! I'm writing here because I discovered an article under the articles for creation area and while it wasn't ready to be added to the mainspace by a long shot, it seemed like it might pass notability guidelines. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Al Gavin, Boxing Cutman and Trainer I was recommended to try one of the people who focus on boxing by someone in WP:SPORTS, so I'm hoping that someone more familiar with boxing could take a look and see if there's anything here that could be added to Wikipedia. I know that there's a few articles out there talking about adding this guy to the Hall of Fame, but there aren't many other sources. I don't know if there's more print sources out there or not, so I figured I'd show it to someone familiar with boxing and let you work your magic. The AfC creator appears to be the son, so I'm a little nervous about him working on the article but then he hasn't been back on for a month or two, so no big worries about that.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 06:18, 23 December 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79

  • Cool! I'm glad that he's not an unknown. I'm not really all that knowledgeable about any sport, but something about him just seemed like he might be notable.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 18:17, 23 December 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79

Speedy deletion nomination of El jefe chingon's airport[edit]

A tag has been placed on El jefe chingon's airport, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Speedy delete contest button.png which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DASHBot (talk) 06:05, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of City Link Air[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on City Link Air requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Horologium (talk) 15:06, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview[edit]

Dear Antonio,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 15:36, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Cristina Pérez (reporter)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Cristina Pérez (reporter) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

One more talking head. Why is she notable? The article does not say, nor has any sourcing.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boeing 727 crash test[edit]

Was it an accident? No, it was a crash test. Was it a hijacking or theft or some other such crime? No. It doesn't belong in the list. YSSYguy (talk) 08:12, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

It happened. On TV. So it was an incident. It belongs. Antonio Please Me Martin 08:26, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
By the way, Wikipedia:Rollback says, among other things, "Use of standard rollback for any other purposes – such as reverting good-faith changes which you happen to disagree with – is likely to be considered misuse of the tool". YSSYguy (talk) 23:21, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Apply that to yourself too. Antonio Crackers Martin 09:46, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't have the rollback function, and I did not undo your revert, I initiated a discussion on the Talk Page, which is what you should have done.
The word "incident" has a very specific meaning within aviation, and this event does not qualify as an incident in the aviation sense. The Australian Civil Aviation Authority defines an incident as "an occurrence, other than an accident, associated with the operation of an aircraft that affects or could affect the safety of operation". The US Federal Aviation Administration Order 8020.11C states an incident is "an occurrence, other than an accident, associated with the operation of an aircraft that affects or could affect the safety of operation". Elsewhere an incident is defined as "an unplanned event that could have resulted in an accident, or did result in minor damage [minor damage being something such as a scratch from ground service equipment], and which indicates the existence of, though may not define, a hazard or hazardous condition". Incidents include runway incursions, mid-air near-misses, air traffic control errors, spillage of hazardous materials carried as cargo, failures of onboard electrical systems, and engine failures. I saw the edit, concluded that it wasn't an incident, and hence removed it from the List, leaving an explanation of why I did so. You reverted my edit with no explanation. YSSYguy (talk) 22:10, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia classifies any instance in which a plane has been destroyed as an incident. Antonio The Man Martin 07:36, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Where is this classification? YSSYguy (talk) 07:06, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Aircraft accidents and incidents-Plus if you go here, you will notice many incidents in which no one died and only the plane was affected are included. Antonio Gutsy Martin 08:51, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
The Aviation Wikiproject page you refer to says nothing of the sort, and an accident has nothing to do with whether people died. If you are just going to make stuff up out of thin air, then there is no point in continuing this discussion. YSSYguy (talk) 21:26, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Incident...not accident. The wikiproject also does not say that all 4 should apply. Antonio Mano Man Martin 09:21, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello again, do you know spanish, right? Yes, it's the article about Guayana Esequiba. I have been writing on it but nobody else understand spanish and they think what I'm writing is non-neutral. The problem is that they only can take into consideration the sources in english, not in spanish. Thus, an article of this kind written only based on english sources will be biased anyway. Article notability notification[edit]

Hello. This message is to inform you that an article that you wrote, Little People, has been recently tagged with a notability notice. This means that it may not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Please note that articles which do not meet these criteria may be merged, redirected, or deleted. Your signature[edit]

I don't know if you are doing that munually or using a script, but you need to remove "piss on the queen's face" [3] from your list of rotating middle names. If you have any other entries like that they should also be removed. I should think it would be fairly obvious that such a thing is not appropriate, but if you would like to see a policy on the subject I believe WP:SIG#Purpose of signatures covers it. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:03, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

I don't mean to pester you over this, but this [4] is not a sufficient response to this concern. As indicated in the policy I linked to, anything that would not be permissible in a username is also not permissible in a signature. If that were your actual username i can assure you you would be blocked right now, so we need to clear this up. As an administrator I'd rather not have to block you and I'd rather not have to check all your talk page posts from now on to be sure you are not doing this again. So, it would be really helpful if you could give some sort of reply here indicating what, if any, corrective measures you have taken. Thanks. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:33, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
Beebos, I only do that in the spirit of both people having a bit of fun, and of being seen as sort of like the Madonna-Dennis Rodman-Naseem Hamed of Wikipedia. I will try from now on to use nicknames that do not offend the public. Antonio Mr. Madonna Rodman Hamed Martin 22:58, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Model aircraft[edit]

Hi. Two editors have now explained that your image of a travel agent's shop is not suitable for an article on model aircraft. Any models in the picture are not the subject of the photo and are too small to be useful, so it is just not appropriate here. If you disagree, then in the spirit of WP:BRD, please discuss it on the article talk page and obtain a consensus view before restoring your image. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 11:08, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

White Arrow (disambiguation)[edit]

Please stop adding an inappropriate entry to the disambiguation page. Please review WP:DAB and WP:MOSDAB (as well as WP:DDD for a concise set of directions). 1) Disambiguation pages are not articles and should not contain references or external links. 2) Disambiguation page entries should include one blue link to an existing English Wikipedia article that supports the claimed usage. 3) If the usage is in fact notable, then please WP:Write the article first. olderwiser 00:17, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Gracias. Gamaliel (talk) 16:03, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

  • You're right, we absolutely DO need good Latino admin, and all the community asks is that you use the tools only to serve the community, not yourself. Perhaps Antonio isn't aware of how much the expectation for admin has changed over the last many years, but they have changed. It is less "cowboy" that it was 10 years ago. To save your time and energy please bear in mind that military crashes usually require some other form of notability such as civilian casualties or unusual crash site, unusual cargo or weapons etc. etc. to warrant stand-alone mainspace articles. I would be happy to advise on future article subjects, happy editting.--Petebutt (talk) 04:24, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Instead, use the Wikimedia Commons category for the station to hold your picture. SounderBruce 08:47, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Telenovela, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page La Reina del Sur. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
